Nowhere can I find an answer to this question. It concerns the video output connections on the DVX-200. I know that you can't use both the HDMI and SDI outputs simultaneously. But what about SDI+AV? What does that really do? I had hoped to run SDI out to my Tricaster switcher and the AV (composite) out to a monitor mounted on top of the DVX-200. BUT when I switch to SDI+AV I get an AV signal to my monitor but lose the SDI signal to my switcher. If SDI+AV is ONLY a composite output WHY is it labeled SDI+AV? SDI+AV (to me, at least) gives the impression that you can utilize both the SDI out and the AV composite output simultaneously. What am I missing here?
Hello, Barry, thank you for your helpful videos about DVX200. I have a question for you. When I am recording and I have the headphone plugged, I think I only listen the stereo mix audio. Is this the only option to listen the sound or can I select channel 1 or channel 2 independently? In my old Sony EA50 I could set the sound to output to the headphone set to stereo (outputs is stereo) or set to mono (outputs in monoaural). Can I do the same with the DVX 200? Or maybe is better to connect the headphone to the Audio Output, not recomended option in the manual of the camera? Thank you very much.
Hey Barry, I just purchased this camera new and for some reason the screen says "can't record". I tried going through the settings and cant figure out how to get it to record. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I discovered that the DVX200 is not capable of outputting OSD info to an external EVF via HDMI when shooting in any format over 1080p. I don't get it. It sends a downconverted 1080i signal perfectly fine to my Zacuto EVF Pro, yet no vital OSD info. Making it almost impossible to film effectively in 4K while shooting with an external EVF. Is there any possibility of that being addressed with a firmware update in the near future? The answer will determine whether or not I keep the camera. I go to Menu->Output Setup-> and Video Out OSD is greyed out when in 4K, and when I click on it, it says "Cannot Set". This is beyond infuriating especially after investing $4000.
It is unfortunate, that 300 million Spanish speakers, do not have access to these aids in Spanish on the part of panasonic, I cost the camera the same as an English-speaking person and I do not understand why panasonic does not grant me the same rights as obliged Compliance as they are informative resources that in my opinion are discriminatory for us, thanks.

I do not thing is discriminatory, Panasonic it is a Japanese company who has the headquartered in Osaka, Japan. For sell their product as an international product they use english since also is not their primary language. I agree with you that would be a great marketing decision create an Spanish version for their ads. But do not feel bad for that, a lot of Spanish speakers have more money than a lot of english speaker, then the problem is not your money. You have to understand the market and how the marketing works before feel your self discriminated. I'm also a native Spanish speaker and my english is not good enough. I feel discriminated as a customer, my money is the same as any country and I think I have the same rights and privileges as the others. I do not think that for a company like panasonic it is an insurmountable effort that we all have access to information in the language of the country where it markets its products. Leaving aside those who do not have the luck to speak English. I know it is the international language, but what would you think if they put everything in Spanish, you would learn it ?.
