This reminds me of this Canadian TV show called the man hunter. Usually a couple or two friends would attempt to reach a destination over 1 or 2 nights I believe and they had a 1hr head start before the man tracker who had a horse tracked them down. It was great entertainment and a lot of the contestants where really smart
in the uk there was this show and i don’t remember the name of it but it was sort of the same as that, but there was a part where a person was put in a tunnel and had to make it to the end while dogs chased them
