This dollar store packs. If you pick the thickest ones you get a 100 sleeves and if you get the super thin ones that almost feel like nothing. They always have a jersey card

I was thinking the same thing... But this guy rolls up to walmart and drops a new car payment on retail blasters on the reg, he could just wander over a few aisles and buy a boxcutter and/or utility blade.

2:10 for the price and the fact you only get 1 card a box, players like that shouldn't even be in the set.... Clear Cut have never held value for more than 1 week...
less than 10% return on a box is wild! Breaking even on a single box would be a miracle.

Yikes!! Feel like this is the type of product where you simply HAVE to think of it as a $4,200+ (CDN) “per box” type of product. Otherwise, you’re pretty much taking a 1:15 or more likely a 1:30 chance at hitting something. This is easily the most “lottery ticket” type of product out there right now.
I remember when 18-19 went to $55. Still not worth it.

I don't understand why people treat clear cut as some sort of being the norm risk. What does a box of platinum cost and how many cards on the checklist will make back your money? If anything this is less risky, and most people don't care about base cards anyways.

I dont understand how cards are profitable. Next year there's going to be more , Upper deck is going to release 20 new products with a lot of the same shit inside.Every year.... Back in the day you could buy a good box of cards for under 100 bucks, maybe buy a few and collect the set including rookies. Now its like 300 bucks for a box and unless youre insanely lucks (AKA lotto style) you just wasted 300 bucks. Its really pushed most old school collectors out of the market and they just oversaturate the market every year...same shit. Unless its a one of one or some crazy rare card its not worth it. 13 bucks a pack for a regular pack of hockey cards is insane. This market is going to crash very hard again soon. Its a rich guys hobby now and its SO overdone with upper deck. They have like 20 different sets every year , most priced WAY too high. The hobby is a joke now.

unless it's SSP and someone collecting set really needs it... The retro tribute auto's were a bit harder to pull and might be worth $80-100.

90+ of full cases wont even come close to breaking even, FULL CASES.
individual boxes will be even more tough.
should be like $50cad a box on release for what you get and where hockey cards are at on the $econdary market.
