As a healthcare worker, I am constantly buying ‘little treats’ purely to get me through each week. Despite working 50+ hours a week, I’m still left with the majority of my paycheck going onto rent, tax, bills etc. Little treats are my way of seeing the results of my paycheck, much in the way my parents would have brought a holiday or a new car 🥲
it sucks to see everyone suddenly abandoning "body positivity" to go on Ozempic and start encouraging EDs again.. and then to waste food just to show off..
why is it "body positive" to overeat and be overweight as if those are not health issues. There are far too many overweight people risking their lives, higher risk of heart disease, stroke and actually cancer. "body positivity" was always stupid because it encouraged eating disorders and bad health, no matter than anorexia.
Body positivity was also a shitty movement, body neutrality never got that much attention and adepts it deserved because it's the only actual movement that's not problematic and not promoting itself either through disguised kink/cult-like communities or capitalism
Unpopular opinion food has always been a social marker. For example before people who spend more money to eat local and organic food were seen as crazy vegan/hippies now they’re related to “green juice” and wellness journey girls. For the rich, well that’s how chef earn money. Good food is a privilege (This is not me justifying it, everyone should be able to afford life, inflation is insane)
This is not an unpopular opinion. It’s a fact. Food is a social marker. Did you know that in the 1800s owning a pineapple was a sign you were rich? Ever heat of aspic? It’s veggies and meat held together in gelatin. In the 1960s it showed to your dinner guests that you owned both a fridge which wasn’t common and gelatin mold which was like $200 dollars. I have examples from every era but these were the oddest to me
My friend used to "little treat" herself pretty much every single day because "she deserves it" She was living with her parents with her mom paying all their bills working two shifts while all her money was going to expensive cafes, getting herself takeouts, little fancy pastries and stuff all posted on her Instagram, literally every day She was owning me money and I even ended up lending some (and I never got paid) because her mom needed to pay their electricity bill and she had no money, but as soon as she got herself some money, there she was, posting another $20 afogato with a $25 chocolate gâteau because, I don't know, she finished one delivery or her jogging or because she cleaned the bathroom The whole thing was, she was doing all that to post on her Instagram, as if she was casually flexing this lifestyle while she was broke
My little treats are clothes that will last several years and sozing up chief level stainless steel pans. I've got cast iron, but I dont really know how to cook with them😢. I'm so happy I'm getting old 😂
I struggle with executive dysfunction so doing laundry is actually a major accomplishment at times, so I have a little treat. I literally could not be able to do chores if I didn’t. Normally, I just get bulk Hershey kisses and eat a few or something
Wait people’s idea of a little treat is actually expensive? Mine is getting a donut and a small iced coffee from Dunkin on my way home from surviving an all-day migraine at work. And that’s because I *need* the caffeine and sugar. 😭 Also? I’ve been wearing clothing/accessories themed around food for nearly my entire life because it’s cute and intentionally ironic because I’m fat. But this whole time, my style is seen as cringe and uncool. Because I’m fat. Ain’t no way I’m letting these uninspired thin people get away with double standards.
Reminds me of those glass bags that have coffee inside? I think that’s gross, to walk around with your coffee opened like that but after watching this video I now understand that the point isn’t to drink the coffee
I don’t know how to put it lightly, but you are 4 years late with this news. In the summer of 2020 Gucci in Moscow started to sell coffee in branded, disposable cups. And omg the length of that line every Fing day for mouths and amount of posts on social media by everyone with those cups…
ok so idk if you went over this, but food has always been a luxury, or atleast has been a huge luxury for the past few centuries, taking a break every few years. nothings really changing, but maybe the current beauty standards

we are all in the same boat 😭
more like food wastage😭😭
Every extra calory you eat is wasted food. Look at all the obese people and how wastefull they arw

Well, body Positivity is a trend, like supporting 🏳️⚧️. Trends are short lived. Get used to ot
Overeating is also disordered eating. Encouraging it never went away, just went in a different direction for a while.
@@shirin8609 yeah :\ that is true

Hoping for the obvious Hunger Games comparison before I even finish the video :)
I got my wish!
😂 not the hunger games slowly turning into DIY manual
I watched this video while eating my little treat for finishing a huge school project! This video was validating but also critical. Loved it!
