I can’t believe you’ve only just hit 30k subs.... you have the best reefing channel on RUclips!! Thanks for all you do!!
Thank you J Lee!!!!! Much appreciated
Devin, Great looking tank! It really shows of the advantages of a peninsula tank. Love the way you have that minimalist look but still have many caves/hiding places. Very well thought out.
Thanks David! I'm excited to see it fill in over time and continue evolving :)
Absolute dream setup Deven, and astonishing that it’s only a year old and looking that mature! Well done ole chap
Thank you sir! I can’t wait to see your new dram build in the making !
Tanks looking great!!!! Congratulations!!
Thanks Greg!
Beautiful tank, well done!
Absolutely stunning! Happy Waterbox anniversary!
Thank you! good to be part of the Waterbox family
The tank looks great Dev. I too also love tangs & wrasses. I like the way you have the rock scape done with all the hidey holes & the coral placement. Congrats on 30k subs.. 😁
Thanks so much Darren! :D
@@ReefDudes you’re welcome 😊
Gorgeous tank D, I have had my Mastertronic up and running now for a week now, and I must say I am most impressed with it.
It’s sooooo nice not having to manually test any more. You will love it!
That is one beautiful tank. I'm jelly.
just wow, so amazing to watch your WB peninsula
Thank you Mars Reef!
Awesome update Devin, the tank is looking fantastic! Congrats on a successful year and looking forward to the next one.
Thanks so much!! 🥰
Beautiful Devan.

Thanks for Canada! I can’t wait for it to fully grow in! Gets a little better every day!
Tank is looking great Devin!
Super fantastic video and saltwater aquarium and corrals too... I wish that my tank likes your tank...😊😊😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍
Tank is looking Amazing Devin 😍😍😍
Thanks so much Neil!
Looks so much better now that you cleared some of the frags off the sandbed.
Yep agreed! Much!
I am so happy to have found you. Great videos and streams :)
Thanks so much John!
Great update the tank looks amazing.
Thank you!
So beautiful!! Happy 1 Year!! My Copperband is truly reef safe he is one of my favs
Fingers crossed mine is too!
That is the best tank eye seen in a house 🏡
Thank you!
Wow Deven I can't believe that it's been a year since I seen you start this build and why are your corals growing quicker than mine ha ha I look forward to all your updates stay safe
hahaha i'm not sure but its all about stability to keep corals happy and growing :)
Happy birthday WB 7225. CONGRATS ON 30K Deven!!!! Can you dive a little deeper into your trace dosing, the what why how and when? I'm starting to dabble lately and I trust your opinion.
I’m actually about to send off an ICP to figure out if my guesses of how much to dose are doing the job or way off! Haha I’ll dig into it once I get my results back
@@ReefDudes I'm about to do the same except I should have sent one in prior to dosing. Oops lol
Coming along beautifully 👍👍👍
Love the tank, can't wait for my waterbox to come.
When do you get it?! woohoo!
Still waiting, I pre-ordered the Reef LX 230.5 and have not gotten a notice yet to pay the final payment and get a shipping date. Hope to have it by mid February
Wow...that went fast!!! Looks great
Right?! Thanks Tina!
Dope Tank!
Happy one year old birthday. 🎉 It looks stunning. Your Purple Tang looks so fat and beautiful. They all do really. Great variation of coral. Thanks a lot for all your amazing content, you are a true inspiration. ☺️❤️
Thanks pop reef. I really appreciate it! 🥰
acans like a little higher nutrients . if the system is "too clean" , Ive found that spot feeding them can help.
I do have plenty of po4/no3. And broadcast feed heavily
Feeding them can make a huge difference in coloration. I do have high nutrients currently and broadcast feed the tank almost daily. You are right though. I should spot feed them more often !
Wow I have been following you for a while because It felt like months that you had it. And seen your other videos. Congrats and keep the great job up. Also can you a video your own version of Apex vs GHL? (In a reefdudes way)
I can prob do that at some point! also have hydros in the mix too hehe
Devin looks fantastic
Thank you!!
Everything’s looks great, but I did notice the aiptashia, my tank was up for over three years and I lost the battle with it, seems the more I killed it the worse it got, check that overflow that’s a breeding ground, good luck with it!
I actually did get a copperband. He’s currently living in my frag tank. In a few months (providing he doesn’t nip any corals) I’ll move him to the main display :)
I freakin love your aquascape.. its like a mini under water world. you must stare at i for hours!
I spent weeks designing it! haha Had it setup on my deck and tweaked it daily for prob 3 weeks until i was happy with it :D
I hope i can see reviews on the built quality of the tank and cabinet
Great update 👏
Not a big deal, but Chaeto is pronounced keto, not Cheeto. Ch, in sciencey words, almost always sounds like a K. Think chrome, school, chylomicron, chondroitin, chiton, etc. Really awesome video! I just started setting up the same tank and now you've given me a lot of ideas. Thanks!
Awesome tank! where did you get your lid?
Awesome
Beautiful tank, one note, could be wrong, but the way your UV is set up, the water isn't touching the bulb. It's just draining from one end to there other. The inlet and the outlet need to be point up, or stand up vertical to ensure the water is touching the UV light and filling up. If you have a valve on it to build up pressure, then you may not be getting the recommend flow thru it. Which I think is about 150 to 200 GPH.
You are correct as the placement is not ideal (should really be vertical) but it’s the only spot that I could fit it. That being said it is accomplishing its main job for me of keeping the water crystal clear :)
@@ReefDudes Do you have a valve on the outflow so it build up pressure? One, UV too long can kill good things in the water. Or the bad, which the water isn't even touching the UV light.
@@brandywine3235 The UV flows to the cryptic reactor next then back to the sump. threre is decent flow going through it. i fully expect to be an air bubble in the top but the reactor shoudl be about 75% ish filled (my guess) its slighly slanted up to help reduce it.. not perfect, but doing the job! Most of the good bacteria is on surfaces so not overly worried about the little bits in the water column :).
That is amazing. Wish I had half of that success. What type of rock did you use to scape?
It’s alll made with Marco rock
Hey Devin. Congratulations! Tank looks amazing. Can I get more info on that carbon dosing media you have?
Sure, it’s a completely new product I’m trying (Atleast new to me). Maybe I’ll see if I can get The company who makes it to do a live stream! Could be fun
@@ReefDudes I'm down for that and trying it out as well.
Devin the tank looks amazing!!!! I am thinking about getting the waterbox 7225. What are some of the things you like and dislike about the tank, stand & sump? I also noticed that you updated your sump a while back. Thanks for everything!!!!!
Love the tank! 0 complaints as it’s really well thought out. There is no need to upgrade the stock sump, I just really wanted a sump with lids abs customized :)
Happy Birthday to your tank! It looks amazing. Great job. Are the lights all set at the same intensity? It’s been fun following your build and progress. Thanks Deven!
The very end one over the acans/clam has a lower max fan speed to force it to do some slight throttling and run a bit dimmer but otherwise they are the same intensity! I appreciate you joining me for the journey!
Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 👌👌
Beautiful tank. Could you provide a link to the tank cover? It's really cool how it sits down in the eurobrace.
Never mind! I rethought what you said and found it! For others unable to understand Canadian (LOL) he said 'D-D JUMPGUARD'.
I still would like to see you cleaning the glass on the stair side of the tank.
hahaha Ill film my doin git next tank update :P Yep DD JUmpguard :)
What type of Dino’s did you have? I’m dealing with Prorocentrum and it sucks! Just hoping to see the light so I can add coral!
I didn’t ID it at the time so not 100% sure what strain it was.
update when the acans come back please. mine are to and not sure why. about to check phosphate
My po4 is high. May be related. Working on lowering it so we’ll see. Fingers crossed
16:56 Orca Labs Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes 👍
You bacha! :D
Devin did you have any issues getting your copperband to eat? What are you feeding him? Great video!
There is a bunch of aiptasia in my frag tank for him to munch on! That’ being said I have not seen him eat one but he does graze the surfaces all day. If you have a new one your trying to feed I find fresh Manila clams from the seafood market one of the best options. Throw in the freezer then add one every few days. Works like a charm.
First! Congratulations on the one year!
Thank you! it seemed to have flew by!
I Love It! I’ve posted some pics of my new build over on ClubMelevs, what’s great is it looks like I’m kicking off Day 1 on my new tank on your 1 year anniversary, or atleast within a few days, looking awesome Deven, thanks for all the helpful videos! Smash that Like Button
Ill see if i can find your post! Feel free to share to the reefdudes group too! :D
Nice tank . So you run carbon consistently ? I took the carbon reactor offline . If you don’t run it do your sps get bothered?
I don’t run it often. Only if the wife says the tank smells fishy.
Devin..question man..I getting used. One.did haveconcern that is rimless?? Did you used the sump??
I have been going rimless for years. Love them
Nice
Nice tank bro
Did you import the D&D jumpguard? I had a family member send it to me
From the UK. Europe sells the black mesh and clear in North America.
You just need to find the “pro” one to get the black mesh :)
@@ReefDudes I love mine too
Good
To know. Thanks. Are you In Ontario?
Amazing! Do you still have your Red Sea Max Nano tank? I followed your build/updates on that and actually just got my own a few weeks ago.
Sadly its gone. I did love that little tank! When i moved i upgraded it to the frag tank.
Its interesting you have your torches nearly as high as the acros, its a neat look. Do you have the radions set differently in that area?
They are all the same but the far end one is a smidge lower
thank you for your vlogs, always enjoy your tank. how many torches do you have on the centre piece ? thank you
Hi Devin, where do you buy your acros from, I know you didn’t grow those acros to those sizes in one year, because my tank is two years old and I have a blue tort acro that is about two inches tall.
A good chunk of these came from my prior tanks. The waterbox was an upgrade from my prior shallow reef tank. I also did split a tank shutdown this spring so they are mainly from a mix of the two. I mainly try to trade corals with others
Well it’s a very beautiful aquascape , Im looking to upgrade myself because I’m not happy with all the life rock piled on top of each other, I would like more acros, but I have to get my phosphates down in lower range, my ph is a steady 8.2 and nitrates are < .10.
Looking great! What happened to the trigger?
Have not had him since my old tank
Oh?? You have a peninsula?? 😉😜 congrats!
Thank you for noticing :P
@@ReefDudes no thanks! 😜
How have the Neptune solenoids held up? They seem to have mixed reviews.
Where did you get your lid from? Have you run an auto feeder on the tank at all, and if so how do you fit it with the lid?
Do you think mp40s would be sufficient on this exact tank in the same placement as your 60s if you only had LPS/softies?
You are not running any biomedia like those bricks, cubes or bio spheres etc?
They are all inside of the cryptic reactor that’s behind my calcium reactor
What is your secret to changing out that Clarissa filter floss. I find it difficult after owning one for over a year. I feel like the there has to be an easier way. I take a razor blade and cut out the old until I get to the motor.
Ah that part is a pain. Or ally one the Center with something to hold the motor and slide off the roll. As for pulling the new one though I staple the new role to the old role and let it pull it though for me . Pretty sure I did a video on that one a while back :)
Hey. I’m getting this tank. What powerheads are you running and what setting if you don’t mind me asking
2x mp60. Reefcrest 75% ish
Grate looking tank. I am currently installing peninsula tank and realized it will be against the wall. How did you able to install mp40 without having much space from the wall?
Thanks! I left Just enough space for the dry side
Nice tank, but why have 10 versa's looking great on a panel (of which you dont use most) to then have a seperate one with the carx??
They are all in use with different task :). The one by the carx is actually doing something separate to boost my Ph
@@ReefDudes Wow you are using 11 dosing pumps, that is a lot! You are using diluted potassium hydroxide with that one I guess :).
Tank jealousy is real haha love this tank
Haha thank you! It’s my dream tank build in the making
Are you running tour MP60’s on sync or anti-sync. I have a Waterbox 6025 and have been trying to dial in flow.
They are both independently doing their own reefcrest to provide a bit more random to it all.
Do you run your UV 24/7 or only when you see an issue? Set up for clarity or ich?
Where do you purchase your coral? Online in Canada?
Tanks!
Randomly. Mostly in person but online check out Fragbox and fraggarage
@@ReefDudes Thanks - keep up the good work. The videos are awesome 😎
How come you are not using your avast cleaning head on this system?
Your RFA island is amazing, how often are you feeding them in any?
I just broad cast feed the whole tank daily. Only spot feed once ina. While
Hey Devin, is this peninsula fitted with a d+d jumpguard or the regular waterbox one ? Thanks
DD Jump guard Pro (black mesh version)
@@ReefDudes awesome thanks
Congrats man! I see some of your lps not doing so great (your sps and Euphyllias are thriving though). Do you think it’s because of to much white light of the radions G5s Pros? I have a lps dominant tank, and when I try to whiten the tank they immediately start to struggle, even though they’re on 30 day acclimation mode.
Hmm I have not considered that. I did Icp test the tank a month or yep and nothing was overly out of whack. I’ll try moving some to lower light or shadows abs see if there is any reach change
Looks awesome! Quick question about your refugium: I thought I saw some growth on the side glass that looks like the spirulina that grows in mine (green, slimy stuff). If so - does it ever choke out your macro? I can't seem to keep my chaeto healthy and I've noticed every time it goes down hill its due to the spirulina getting more abundant. Any tricks you'd recommend?
No issue there. If your chaeto is fading on you make sure your not low on iron
@@ReefDudes I assumed ChaetoGrō would have helped with the iron. Perhaps I'll up my dosage & maybe try a different light. thanks again dude
@@phatduckk It should help (assuming low iron is your issue)
What made you decide on a Waterbox instead of Red Sea tank?
Saw it at a show. Really liked the quality of it all. Very happy with it
Reef looks amazing! What's up with your Clarisea? It's blue with a clear top covering the dirty part of the roll (maybe to keep any smell contained?). Is that custom?
Sure is custom! I had it built into my custom goes reef sump. He did a fantastic job on it.
Do you still have your blue spot jawfish?
Can you tell me the name and place of where you got your mesh top?
DD jumpguard pro is the top. Where abouts do you live
Whats going on with salfin tang. Ring around its eyes is all white. Is it normal.
Not normal but has been like that since I inherited him. Only on one eye and comes and goes.
WAS JUST watching your 9 month update LOL
time warp! :D
Dude gonis have a bad sting. One of mine killed a rainbow chalice of mine 😥
No kidding! i had no idea of much of a punch they packed!
Acans are one of the first LPS to respond to low or zero phosphate by shrinking. Some of your Euphyllia looks contracted as well for the same reason.. With that much LPS you dont want phosphate below. 03. If that checks out try iodine.
I'm the opposite. my po4 is .2 ish.. i'm working on lowering it
Grola 💯%
What type of lid do you have on your tank?
D&d jumpguard I believe
Where is your blue powder tang mate?
Sadly lost him before he moved into the new tank. I foolishly added a "new fish" Golden angelfish to the same temporary tank he was in during the tank move.. and sadly it had something and took them both out..(sadly it was last xmas too to make it worse. It was heartbreaking as he was my fav. It was a hard lesson on QT Everything.
Devin, how long have you had the Squamosa? What size was it when you first got it? Just curious what you NO3 and PO4 is? Trying to understand what each of these require better.
Im due to test them again but they are both pretty high... working on lowering it. Had the clam for about a year, got it from a buddy who was shutting down a tank,, who got it off another reefer.. so no idea who old it actually is.
Why did you change the sump?
It’s my last / dream tank build for a while and I always wanted a fancy one with lids. Love how I customized it to have the filter roller abs everything contained
How much rock is in this tank?
No idea, i always get extra to have options to work with
With all that you are using how do you ever know what works and what doesn't??
This is not a negative comment BTW as your tank is stunning. I was just wondering how you eliminate things when there is so many types of control on it 👍
Most of the things I add are to automate stuff I was doing manually. Many things are overkill but it’s my hobby! I love to automated and tweak. You could absolutely have a simple tank with out all the tech(but it’s part of the fun for me).
Ex last night. Was looking at apex abs saw a big drop in temp and was like what the ..go out and see the wife left the window open. Closed it. Happy house again! :)
Lampunya pakai apa ?
Shame about the sailfin. You should medicate it with antibiotics before it loses that eye. Feeding well isn't going to help it at this stage. There used to be an eyedrop medication that worked wonders but I'm not sure if it is made anymore. Back in the early 2000s people started taking aquarium meds to treat themselves since its the sameds to treat humans. So fda put a lot of regulations on meds.
What was that medication called? Any idea?
@@ReefDudes unfortunately it has been 15+ years since I last used that product at the lfs I worked at. I tried looking it up but I only seen maracyn as your best treatment. It should also help with the lateral line infection. Unfortunately that means you will have to quarantine him. With the state the eye was in in the video. Feeding him well isn't going to save the eye. You might be able to contact your local vet for an eye drop style antibiotic treatment which would work best. That's the type of medicine I used to treat the fish with popeye at that store.
I’ll trade you my Evo 13.5 for your WaterBox 7225.
Sounds fair
It’s a Covid tank
lol I prob give it less love cause of covid! doing tech stuff there is no rest for me :P
