You should never have a window in front of a cooker/ stove its dangerous as wind can blow out the flame on you or blow the flame out causing the gas to spread .have the window in front of the sink, best place . Thats how we have it in UK nearly every house
Why not use baskets? tandem is bulky, very costly ,not repairable and made in china and Taiwan products. Very dangerous for baby Babies always like to play in the kitchen tandem can damage the baby's hand or fingers. Basket is good option
