Thanks Chuck. I think you have a pretty good FOV, maybe not though. - Cheers Kurt

Can you even use a camera in the daytime? Pretty sure the RASA won't cut it for this job

Thanks Tam. Cartes Du Ciel is a good program as well, I have used it a few times. I don't know if does custom landscapes though.

Great post. I tried this a long time back though I was never satisfied with the results. Very helpful instructions and will give it another go since the view from my backyard is terrible and I've lost a lot of time trying to figure out if and when a target will come into view.
Also agree with your Astro shed comment, place it where it will get used. The simple fact is, I would image more if I didn't have to setup and teardown so much.

Thanks Gerry. Yeah exactly why I built it and use stellarium. I must image 4x as much and it is more enjoyable.

Informative video Kurt! I knew about the custom field of view in Stellarium. I just never seen a video on it. Thanks for the heads up!

Hello. How do you make sure that the elevation of trees is correct ?

Checking it when the stars are out, very tedious.
