A compilation of crossings and railway scenes that we got to see on our journey from Mangaluru to Mumbai, which included the entire stretch of the amazing Konkan Railway, spread over three days. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the amazing KR and it's trains. :)

The Duker 12134 Mangaluru-Mumbai SF, 12620 Matsyagandha Express, and 10104 Mandovi Express.

People do often say me that only poor people and middle class people travel in trains and that too in sleeper class. But the scenery you get in traveling sleeper class and that too konkan railway in monsoon is just Priceless. No Flight journey , no money can give such a mesmerizing beauty.

Curious how you know the names of trains which cross? It's hard to capture the plate names when your own train is traveling by rather quickly, right?
Also, when you shoot videos of trains which cross your own train which has stopped - and you're on the other side of the track (or upstairs on a bridge) to get a great shot - aren't you at risk of watching your own train puff away as soon as the last car clears? :-)
On the signal aspect, I think that only after the crossing train has crossed the second (outer?) signal beyond the station, does the train on the loop line get a green signal. Safety precaution. Dheeraj can confirm :)

The Konkan Rail Journey would be more mesmerizing and enjoyable once the railway doubling is complete. It will be less time consuming n bet Konkan can really tend to become Heritage Site.
Complete doubling is almost impossible on the current alignment.
@@dheerajrao bro the entire Konkan Railway strech of 791 km is under doubling process. It will take time but will get done.
They're doing patch doubling.

Lovely compilation. So many of the passenger trains do not have a pantry car...beneficial for the vendors who possibly have to travel within a pre-defined set of stations to sell their wares.
This section must be really busy for a single line section !! Wonder if they would consider doubling given the volume of traffic ?
Yes. Work will soon begin on the Doubling Project for this track route. The total route length is around 736 km(457 miles), out of which, in the first phase 147 km(91 miles) will be doubled. Also 21 new stations will be either upgraded or built, along this route.

How much difficulties train and passengers face due to this ongoing halts...
Need for the double line
They don't face any 'difficulty' as long as section controllers do their job. Train schedules have slack built in to accommodate time used for crossings and overtakes. Also, doubling is not possible on KR.

Saiprasad Chavan Thank you for your comment. Scenery was not included in this video because, as the title suggests, this is a set dedicated only to crossings on this single-line stretch.

Why you dint shoot margao?
Because we halted at Madgaon and also I don't prefer shooting in big stations. At that time photography/videography was illegal inside stations. I don't like taking unnecessary risks.
