Geez, now I'm gonna have to get this Heep DVD too! It's nice to see that the guys went back and revisited a lot of these lesser known but very excellent songs. I really like the song "construction" as played here. And check out the looks on the faces in the crowd @ 4:15. That says it all, doesn't it?!
David used to sing this song with such a heart-tearing drama, i just wish everyone can hear what i heard in that song, especially in the way it was performed by mr. Byron. Such a depth and profoundness. Speaking of this performance, well, totally ruined. I love Bernie in general but for this song.. he failed. At the most dramatic and soul-touching moments of this song he, somehow, decided to go with “over positive” and even comic intonation.. hell knows why. Some other particular parts were also quite a task for him to perform. Difficult song no doubt, unfortunately, screwed in this performance.
GothicRenee - I'm not sure it's fair to compare a much younger Byron singing in the studio (where one can do endless "takes" to get it right) to a tune right in the middle of a long live set. I think the biggest problem here is that Bernie had just sung another "soft' song, and one gets a sense that the whole band wants to get back to rockin' out, going a bit too fast, IMO, and Bernie ends up sort of oversinging the thing in spots where it should have a gentler touch. It's perhaps his biggest fault. But... Bernie CAN do it "live" - listen to him doing "Come Away Melinda", for example, or in several spots on Acoustically Driven. And he's a better "frontman" in terms of audience rapport and consistency. OTOH, Byron could sometimes be virtually unmatchable, and other times, awful. At first, I didn't much care for Bernie, but, with time and lots of listening, have come to appreciate him as a generally excellent vocalist and consummate professional. I look at the audience reaction here, and, even after a "critique" -- these guys did their job and then some!

What a song. One of those deep album cuts, that never get the recognition they deserve. And what a performance!
Love this song!
fantastic........melody rock of uriah deep.....the best
One of the really good U. Heep songs with organ, nice chord changes, brash singing, etc. R.I.P. Trevor Bolder.
And R.I.P. Lee Kerslake who played the drums at this concert and Ken Hensley who composed this great song.

pardon ......URIAH HEEP
This song is fantastic but those who think the singer is good is that they have never heard the original version of David Byron
Bernie kinda blew the lyrics here and there, too. Still, nice to see Heep bringing this one back - the tune really deserves it!

Uriah heep is nothing without ken and byron
Schwach wie immer. Dieser feuertänzer, gruselig
,...na, zuviel Whisky in der dummen Birne ! ? !
