@@BattleBrotherCasten I would say snipers + FC is a pretty safe option because it deters players from early rushes and allows you to tech to T3 to unlock your strongest units

i'ts weird that i've been playing a lot of rts games and have to figure out how to actually make a good strat for building/capping and attacking/defending. Now I see this and relief came to me that im not the only one
Just started playing this and this video is goated as just last night I was trying to figure out a layout since I got clapped by Orks and Necron in unification
Love the sniper build, wish the standard was a little more detailed for build order sake and mixing in upgrades for what purposes, also really love the flying speeder rush, that makes me able to take hard bots on with ease except chaos, such a nuisance
These are nice and straight forward, especially against the AI, but if you're up against an opponent in multi player, there's a ton factors to consider, like the MU, the map itself, do you execute the build 'blindlny', or scout ahead and act accordingly, etc. There's also a quite popular build for the SM, where you go for Scouts + FC early (3-4 scout squads), with no upgrades, which gives you very good map control and capping options. You can also adapt from it rather comfortably, and decide whether to go for a T 1.5 all in (e.g. research flamers and start adding Tacs, maybe some ASM), or go T2. The 'catch' is that you have to micro hard, and not allow your squads to get wiped completely.
Very true, I always urge my viewers that these videos will help guide but the best practice you can get is to go out and try it for yourself! Having said that I will be releasing some videos with these openings actually being played with real players with some commentary on my part
Would it be possible for you to make build order videos on the Unification Mod's races? I'm new to the game but I prefer the Unification Mods and have no idea how to beat more difficult AIs 😅 Great video though! Keep up the glorious work of the Imperium!
If you play vs. Dark Eldar Eldar or Tau always get a skull probe it is detector and its cheap and you can attach it to the squad does not matter what build you choose always get skull probe vs. this enemy races. With snipers you do even do more damage vs. dark eldar mandrages harrasing them by killing them when they cap strategic point, same with tau stealthsuits or eldar rangers who try to do counter harras against you. With snipers you need avoid enemy comanders scout snipers does not do so much damage vs. enemy commanders and you need lp2 backup and some mines and turret when they try follow you over all map. Also with triple heroes build it is better one lp2 after one lp2 is finished for better defence then get t2 fast during making t2 then build armory some gens and then get that trios and some upgrades. And when you has over 700 requsition go for second hq instead of making 2 lp3 it is cheaper and you can build more generators and get better recource bonus then you can get lp3.

Really, really great tutorial! I have a couple questions, though: - Why build the Power Generators next to LPs (as opposed to build them closer to HQ)? - Why set the GK to ranged when it is in melee that they have their best damage?
1. Placing generators next to LP's provides extra defense once the LP is upgraded to an LP2. 2. It's true that GK's have better melee damage but only when they are hitting their target. If enemies are running away or very fragile, it's better to use ranged stance for better dps. Obviously, always use them in melee when attacking buildings (buildings never retreat).

Sry but you dont ever attach the FC to a Squad unless you need to save him because of Low health. You need him for melee. If 1 melee binds your sm+FC Squad you die. You need him to solo disrupt ranged squads.
Hey Jagus, are there any viable SM build orders that *don't* go for double (or even triple!) scouts? I'm mostly asking because I just don't like scouts.
Hmmm, in team games you might be able to get away with just making one scout squad but it will be very slow for you capping your points. Because of this I don't think this would work in 1v1 games
@@beefyblom In 1v1's? It would depend heavily on the skill of your opponent. If they are a complete beginner, you probably won't have to make scouts at all and go straight for tactical marines to cap your points. Can I ask why you don't like scouts? They are extremely useful units to have especially early game
@@jagusart That's fair enough. I kinda suck at the game, so it'd probably be fine in an equal-skill game. As for why I don't like scouts, it's more of a preference than anything, but I don't like how they make tacs little more than a "tanky" ranged unit instead of the actual core of early SM, and I don't like infiltrated sniper units (just really annoying, honestly). So basically I just feel SM are overreliant on scouts when I feel tacs should have that role. Thanks for answering my questions, by the way!
When you right-click the reinforce button, it starts flashing. This means it's in "overwatch"; basically that squad will automatically reinforce without you having to manually do it yourself (while you have the resources, of course). This also applies to adding weapons to the squad or making units, but not for doing researches.
Probably a silly question but would this work well in the single player campaign? Since these builds are optimized for speed it would theoretically make the non stronghold missions quicker. Heck in most missions you'll start with your commander for free so you get a small break in start-up cost.
I remember trying to play Space Marine in the only 3 players map of the game and getting rekt everytime because the bots focused mostly and only on my ass, i tried like 10 times every tactic know to man and everytime i just get destroyed because it was a 1 v 2 wich is just impossible (atleast for my dumb ass).

@@jagusart Melee also loses a lot of DPS from flashy kill animations, so their DPS looks a lot better on paper than in practice.
