Great video! Wow that’s great instruction! Easy to follow! BTW what nitro/oil/methanol content do you run with this engine? I have bought one of these engines along with a world models p51 pylon racer and wanted to know what mixture gives good glow plug life along with reliable operation. I don’t intend to race it just hobby and fast flybys
The simplest fuel to run is 30%helicopter fuel. More than enough oil, and plenty of nitro for fly bys. For racing I run 60% nitro, 20% synthetic oil. Doesn't really matter what%you run as long as the needle doesn't get set lean.
Hi there, thanks for the video. I'm battling with a gifted YS 91 from a friend. Pretty difficult to make it run smooth. What I notice is that there is a lot of fuel coming out of the carb when it is not running... is it normal?. I am a OS Engines man so not very familiar with an engine that comes with a tank behind the carburetor or something like that.... is it a pump of some sort? Thanks
This is where I am at now; I get a good idle and a good max RPM but I can't kill the engine!! It seems like the throttle arm stops at minimum RPM (idle) but it doesn't advance any further in a way that I could cut the air intake completely!! How do you stop the engine in your case? Definitely a very different carburetor compared to any other engine I've seen...@@flooded3456

I suggest you download the ys fuel line routing system.
One more question: how do you kill the engine? The carb is very different and the barrel doesn't close like any other carb @@flooded3456
Just close the carb sleeve like any other carb

Why do the ys engines like the nitro? Low compression?
High compression, they run a super charger system
Very cool man
