@Stephen Greenhorn er come watch Gently Tender- Sam, Peter n Will's other band...but yeah i'd agree- fact they took me on tour with them almost demonstrates that when u think HOW many iother bands could do that with their mate and seemingly didnt!?
libertines were like mid 20s when signed so had lot of material....these guys were being asked about 2nd album when they were still touring the first with no break- PLUS imo the demise of NME as a magazine which was the sorta biggest watermark for smaller indie to gain clout...you got NME covers meant you were gettung up the indie ladder. now theres no watermark for that
@Stephen Greenhorn TBF re this video he is probably right...i almost def saw more live shows of them than anyone in the world bar themselves and that was SUnday of Glastonbury about 1pm after Playing Williams Green tent night before and being at the festival since the Friday...so yeah they would all own up to this not being the best watermark1!
that is so jokes i genuinely think its true, certainly at least talking from seeing them from the crowd pov...they had various soundguys etc and the manager didnt come on all tour dates...plus i did us AND eu tours!
I don't know if it's a calculated thing but Sam's guitar game has receded so much. All solos sound shit and his guitar is out of tune. They might be going for an even more ramshackle punky sound, but it makes them sound like a cover band. Rest of the band are on point though.
+Charlie England They're both fucking hammered I'm pretty sure Chilli came on stage and the first time he stepped to the mic he split his lip open or something if I remember correctly haha (not shown on BBC)
+Charlie England tbh mate theyre like perpetually fucked all the time, so i think they just get fucked up before they play which is why on a big open stage it doesnt sound so good but in a confined small venue its insane. the problem with them being on such an open stage is it missed the confined energy that the band have
I agree Tom. Its so disappointing, especially as there would have been so many young people in the crowd, what example are they setting for our children, the music fans of the future?

That beard is just rank
They were meant to be the next libertines, just never quite reached that height, I think these guys didn't get the full support they needed

they were so mid
it's not full set sorry.
PV Which songs are missing?
I think objectively they're good, but subjectively they don't touch me
try 2 chords good by gently tender new band of some of them
image : we drink alot of beer and wear silly shirts and we found a drum kit and some guitars and we dont change our pants much or wash .
brain sample & one of us is the designated Nick Cave impersonator
lool think this might say a little more about your priorities than theirs though?
Man the lead guitarist is soooo fucking wasted, check out how he swaps guitars after best of friends😂
Make the Libertines sound like virtuoso’s
