- Honkai Star Rail 2.3, this week's divergent universe is the Sam boss so I wanted to try this, sadly I couldn't get the 16 destruction blessings.

The close up on the knee attack, scorched earth operations, and the recently added punch are too good of animations for a simulated universe boss.

Yeah, I really wish they let playable Sam be the same size as the boss version. Lol
The playable SAM is the actual height though
It bothers me so much that the enemy SAM is much taller
This is an HSR x HI3 crossover story, a part of my Honkaiverse Chronicles, my retelling of Hoyoverse's Honkai series, their main pride and joy:
Notes: At this time, the Nameless decide to add the Peridot Star System (HI3 Solar System) to their Star Map. This takes place after Penacony, but before their next trailblazing expedition in either the Xianzhou Yaoqing or Zhuming or in that mysterious planet Akivili has yet to explore. Here, they are in Sapphire (HI3 Earth with the name based on an alternate name for Soukai City). New crewmember Firefly serving as the liaison between the Astral Crew and the Stellaron Hunters receives her training from Schicksal's Skjaldmo (Shieldmaidens in Old Norse, a replacement of the term Valkyries).
She was among those who fought Sunday at Penacony Grand Theater, but got killed in action when she took fatal attacks meant for Bronya Zaychik as part of her "second death" part of her script (Bronya could not trust Firefly due to her revealing her identity as Stellaron Hunter SAM despite assurances from her, Kiana, Elysia, and Aponia), one who she pushed aside; through her second death, she was able to dream, dreaming of her destroyed homeworld, her fellow Glamothian Iron Cavalry Knights, and Glamothian Empress Titania. Her resurrection and resurgence by fire gave way to her ascendance as the Herrscher of Dreams and she alongside Kiana finished him off.
With these notes, we begin my story...
The story begins in the Elysian Realm located in the Sapphire island of Mu, based on the fantastical theory of its existence on Earth. Here, Firefly has gone through a gauntlet of enemy waves and the final level shows her past self - Stellaron Hunter SAM, one faced in the Memory Zone version of the Reverie Hotel. This is where she fought her own friends, including the Trailblazer Twins. But in their place is Firefly, the Herrscher of Dreams. Clad in a revealing bikini armor and her cape being fairy wings which unfurl whenever she levitates, she arms herself with her two swords.
Seeing Firefly in her new form, the Sim SAM begins as "he" points "his" index finger on her, "You! Who or what are you?!"
Unfazed and undeterred, Firefly responds, "I am you from a not-too-distant future, but transcended, ascended, reborn, and evolved!"
Sim SAM responds with "his" fists, "You are but an imposter! I must burn you to ashes!" "He" sets the battleground ablaze. (BGM: Nevermore)
"You are the real impostor, my past self! I will put an end to your destruction!" Firefly counters. Sim SAM charges forth with "his" right fist while Firefly counters with her two swords.
The fight between Firefly and her Sim past self is grueling and ardous, her swords clashing against "his" fists. She also relies on kicks to counter his, except for "his" diving one which she evaded swiftly.
Later, Firefly falls back, keeping a safe distance.
"Get back here, coward! You have no warrior's honor!" Sim SAM calls Firefly out.
"This is a tactical retreat, nothing of cowardice here," Firefly counters then adds, "And you've only tasted a fraction of my new power. Now watch this," she goes then commands, "Activate Strategic Assault Mecha ver.2.0!"
"Acknowledged. Activating Firefly Type-IV Strategic Assault Mecha ver.2.0," her SAM AI complies.
The simulated SAM responds, "I never heard of that upgrade. What deceit is this?"
Orange flames surround Herrscher Firefly who then reemerges in her SAM musume, armed with not only her two swords, but also ranged weaponry on her hands and shoulders. As she lands, she declares, "Firefly Type-IV ver.2.0, ready!"
Sim SAM gets turned off by how much skin she is showing in this thanks to her base leotard showing her rear and having a cleavage cutout, not to mention her arms and legs are shown too.
"Whatever deceit this is, I will set you and it all ablaze!" Sim SAM threatens.
"Try me. But you won't find me easy prey," Firefly counters. She then fires her left shoulder chain gun on him, bullets firing from the rotating barrels. Sim SAM dodges, but is having more difficulty dodging them due to how the projectile velocity is much faster than that of any of the Propagation Swarm stingers. She then fires her right shoulder missile pod, firing a barrage of micro homing missiles. "He" evaded only half of them as "he" received the rest on some of "his" body.
"You coward!" Sim SAM calls out.
"This is why Glamoth fell. I have learned so much onto why our people fell to the Swarm so easily. It was our indoctrinated pride as expendable warrior clones, to fight and die. That is why I grew disillusioned to such an oath," Firefly counters.
Suddenly, Sim SAM flies up and sees falling meteors about to crash on her. She knows what move this is. Sim SAM invokes, "I SHALL SET THE SEAS OF STARS ABLAZE!!"
Readying herself, Firefly prepares to make a massive evasive maneuver. Once Sim SAM crashes, Firefly dodges it. Sim SAM gets furious at this exclaiming, "You didn't get scorched?!"
"Naturally," she retorts then counters, "You're just following a script by Elio because of the slander the IPC did with their ludicrous bounties on us and our fellow Hunters. You're incapable of burning everything to ashes, let alone setting the seas of stars ablaze!"
"Do not speak of Elio's name, imposter!" Sim SAM furiously reacts.
"He is like my father and big brother just as he is that to you. But what you don't know is Elio gave me a new script giving me a new lease in life, one you have yet to grasp," Firefly once more counters as she fires her assault rifle on vital parts of the SAM suit, making "him" unable to move. Sim SAM reacts, "What?!"
"And furthermore, I am capable to dream, and most of all, to love!" Firefly ends as she purges all her weapons, activating the energy wings and cape emerging from her SAM musume's back as she arms her two swords. Sim SAM tries to block the attack with "his" thermal palm blasts, but Firefly parries the projectiles off by spinning her two swords into a combined double-sword. She then cuts the exo suit by the hands, unabling "him" to punch. She then parries a kick, leaving "him" vulnerable to the finishing blow. Firefly thrusts her right hand sword onto "his" torso, the suit deactivating as she did so. She then backs away, knowing what is to come. Sim SAM explodes as "he" screams in agony. In "his" place is her naked past self, the horrifying parts being the green lines all over her body, the side effect of her Entropy Loss Syndrome. She was kneeling before Firefly, heavily breathing in exhaustion, all spent and depleted, as her SAM was destroyed and her body sustaining battle damage. Firefly transforms back into her Herrscher form and runs to Sim Firefly as she grasps her now-broken SAM transformation device, now kneeling on one knee to speak to her in the same eye contact level, her hands grasping her past counterpart's naked shoulders.
Seeing her ascended form, Sim Firefly asks weakly, "Am I really you? Am I to become that?"
Firefly answers, "You will. Trust me, trust yourself, trust that script of experiencing the wonders of life. You will find the purpose of living soon."
"Does the script let me become this? I will get such power?" Sim Firefly asks weakly.
"You will. Make lots of friends, but don't betray their trust, especially the one friend who will show you what the true meaning of living is," Herrscher Firefly tells her, hinting on her romance for Caelus.
"I see...I shall see to that", Sim Firefly responds before collapsing from exhaustion. The combat simulation ends there. The other Skjaldmo get her battle data results and they are astonished in their findings.
Later, others would try the same battle simulation. When Sushang Li gives it a shot to fight against SAM, when it is over, Sushang goes to Firefly who was watching, "My, you were that obsessed with scorching everything?" Sushang goes to Firefly.
"Again, part of the script. You know the reasons for that already," Firefly responds.
"But you're never one to scorch and destroy everything and everyone in sight, do you?" asks Susannah Manaat, who is also in the training sim with Sushang.
"Never in my nature nor what Elio intended nor would tolerate such," Firefly responds.
"Good to know", says Kira Shigure, also part in the sim training.
The story ends with Firefly now observing how the others fare against "him".

To be honest, boss versions are always cooler and have better movesets. Gepard, Kafka, SAM..their boss counterparts are so cool.
Isn't playable Sam cooler, though? You know, with dual blades and wings.

@@aathried it would have been so cool if that move had been transferred to the playable version, but we still got the punch and the rider kick.
I can imagine a version where Firefly convert 30% of her Ult energy to perform Scorched Earth as an enhanced Skill when her burst is not active to deal massive Toughness damage, and if the attack Breaks an enemy, the energy spent is refunded.
Still, I still think the current version with wings and swords are also cool. It is also canonically stronger than the Scorched Earth attack.
