Oil cooling is an excellent idea. I would recommend pure, clear mineral oil, but it sure looks as though you have everything well under control. Fantastic job.
@@kane3331 Any dissolved particles in an oil not intended as a dielectric can increase its conductivity. I have seen motor oil, cooking oil work quite well, though. Pure mineral oil is available as fragrance-free baby oil. Transformer oil is best, but it's not cheap, and in many places, you cannot buy small quantities.

On the shelf unopened usually it lasts a couple of years before it goes off. Heating it makes it go off faster. The biggest downside is you are probably going to want to buy some chips every time you fire up the MOT!

Believe me, this is nothing compared to what you can do with basic stuff. you should get into the hobby or look for people who does it, with the thing you are seeing in this video, you could make meter long arcs with the right set up

I would definitely put a longer handle on that and definitely not any kind of pipe. If there's moisture on the inside of the pipe it can capacitively couple to your hand.

STOP. A small mistake, a dropped cable, a sneeze, a failure of an insulator, an unplanned arc, any number of things...could result in contact with 4kV and immediate death. No high voltage engineer would mess about like this.

And could you use the 2 connection points but instead of a rod and the ball use a Tungsten electrodes and copper tubes put the Tungsten electrode in the middle and the other one connect with the tubes I want to know how strong would be the blowing effect.

The voltage is added by putting the transformers in series, but the current (power) decreases. On the contrary, by putting the transformers in parallel you gain current (power). But in all this it depends on the mains voltage at the input.

@@nityanandadas5575 The microwave transformers are 2 KV 500 mA. If you put two transformers in series you get 4 KV 250 mA. On the contrary in parallel you get 2 KV 1.0 A. The secondary connection can be connected to the transformer body.

If you wire two high voltage capacitors in parallel, then put the HV eire from the transformer on one side and then make your output the other capacitor on the opposite side, you'll get resonance. Doing that gives you bigger arcs. If I explained anything poorly I apologise

Oil is essential for cooling, MOTs become hot after about 4 minutes of continuous work.

Not with those type of transformers they are not designed for continous use at maximum load

arcing to the transformer core in the oil, that really is bad for the oil insulating property. i would filter out that oil before using it again

No resistor needed just short the terminals with wires there is also a builtin resistor inside the capacitor
