Welcome back Sam! Still unfortunate about the losses but still, some awesome Phasmids none the less! I need to get some stick insects in my collection at some point 😄
@@OldChannelBugRealms Nothing too interesting. I'm a bushland firefighter and I often find allot of animals of all sizes wile working. My last video post is on this very subject if you wanted to check it out.
So sad about all the losses I would be devastated Make sure you always wash your leaves VERY well Their could also be parasites on them along with pesticides 😊
a-kay-sha - acacia there's no shortage of these trees down under, including the golden wattle, national blossom of Oz - as featured on the Australian coat of arms with the emu and the kangaroo loving the bugz! thanks
My (now ex) partner and I were members of the PSG back in the mid 90s. He had several wonderful cultures. One was a small spiny phasmid from Borneo, if I remember correctly. It was a greenish colour, and wingless. About 2 inches as adult. He gave the culture away, I really wish I knew what the genus/species was. He said it was quite new (in the 90s) and there was only one or 2 cultures in the UK at the time. Anyway, great video. Sorry to hear about your losses. I hope you can recover them in due course. Keep up the excellent work.
Debbie C Hi there . I’m a member of the PSG 😊 maybe I can help. I don’t know of any small green ones from Borneo though . I think I know the ones you mean . Their called Spinohirasea Bengalensis PSG 272 other name Spiny green stick insect from Vietnam .
@@mypetsandme9473 their colour varied a little, some were more orangey brown. I'll take a look. I will recognise it. Thank you so much for taking time to reply.
Debbie C there’s quite a few little dumpy spiny ones like the Dares Species from the Borneo area . The 90s was a good time as Ian Abercrombie & co collected a lot from that area . I hope you find them 😊
@@mypetsandme9473 gosh, Ian Abercrombie, that rings masses of bells, pretty sure I've chatted with him, back in those days. Yes, I'll keep up my search. I was really gutted when I heard my ex stopped keeping phasmids. They were a big part of his life for many years.
Go to see you back, Sam! I have 3 females of this species. My niece stood on my male by accident before he had a chance to do his thing so I have to get another one.
@@creepycrawlyuk7102 shame poor girl! Accidents happen. Its good they are engaging with the insects. More the merrier! To many people let their fears or disgust overwhelm them.
Really happy to see you back at it, Sam! Keep up the fantastic work, you got this!
Thanks jess!

Nice one! I rescued a bunch of stick insects at a fire last week and thought of you. I have no idea of what types they were though.

Glad to see you back! 😊 What a sweet lady she is, so different from my peruphasma schultei. I think I need more phasmids. 😉
Yeah very different! Oooo yes you must! So much fun!
Aren't they parthenogenetic aswell? That means a female can produce offspring without male fertilization.
So sad about all the losses I would be devastated

Great bro welcome back my green grass hoper just molted the skin

Do they need any heat lamp/mat source in their enclosure or can I keep them without that as I would other stick insects?
They don't need any special equipment like that. :)

Oh no 🙈! Shame, I bet your niece was upset!
