This box of vinyl came in, and I thought for sure I'd gotten a good deal, but even I make mistakes sometimes! After finding out that the records I was after were destroyed, it was such a good feeling to see that little 45 peeking up at me. Big thanks to Buddy Holly and the Chirping Crickets for saving the day!!
I found a George Harrison (All Things Must Pass) 3 record box set with the poster. I paid $1.99 at a thrift store. The worker put it out in the shelf 5 minutes before I got there. 😁👍
What a steal!!
I found a signed George Harrison album in a box of records I bought at a local auction. That was a happy day.
Just goes to show, if its paul or lennon then people care, if its george or ringo.. who's george and ringo again?
@@CrabulousYTGeorge Starr and Ringo Harrison
That tears for fears one is probably perfectly fine. Just put it under some books for a few days and it'll be fine. Even then the 'warp' is either minor or it doesnt show well on camera.
Yup. Just another overly critical ocd vinyl dude. Idk how they even enjoy it. If it plays perfect it is perfect.
Why even collect vinyl if you're not going to be critical and OCD about it? :)
@@heavyheadsrecords dumb comment. there were times where I was gonna get rid of all my records because I was so critical, then I just enjoyed them for what they are and I love vinyl more than ever
@@stgeorge5862I don’t think it’s over critical to not want a WARPED record on his selling floor. He has standards and that’s somehow a bad thing? Lmao
I’ve debating buying the heat mats that fix warps. Putting under a few books for a few days will not fix it lol.
As a 78 collector, that little “warp” is nothing haha! Still worthy of playing it!
fellow 78 collector, its amazing how much 78s can take in the way of scratches and cracks and still play fine
HOLY MOLY! That Phil Collins record might be the most frightening thing I’ve ever seen! There’s no saving that one, it’s FAR past its best days!
Good ending bro. I friggin love going through crates of albums. I can do it for hours. Nothing like finding a vinyl you want and going home and cleaning it and then TURNTABLE !!!! Love it
Thank you, it's about the thrill of the hunt for me too! Vinyl always seems to have a way of showing me some love!
I bought a copy of that “The Chirping Crickets” album. One of my favorites
Nice! I finally sold this copy, and it went to a really cool dude.
All 3 are must haves in a collection. Breaks my heart to see NO JACKET REQUIRED,cracked and warped. Phil Collins best solo project. Tears for Fears’ best album to date. Thanks for sharing.
The Phil Collins album should have been titled "No Hair Required"
Awwwww you just made my heart melt...pun intended. For me as a digger, it's never "the thrill of the hunt", it's always these kinds of surprise catches.
Well done, m'friend!!!!
Haha, after experiencing many aspects of the business, the thrill of the hunt is my definitely my favorite. These little buys are cool, and there’s nothing like capturing that pristine time capsule of a collection every once in a while either. Thanks for the comment fellow vinyl junkie!!
Im 31 and still think records sound the best. With the right setup they sound phenomenal. Plus i love to collect records.
Not trying to be spammy, but if I can ever help you find something, let me know!!
Yeah I went into a record shop near where I live and they tend to sell a lot of modern stuff which is fine, however while I was looking around there was a stack of records on the ground. And the guy tells me that it's something they just got as a trade-in from one of their regular customers, and he hasn't even had time to go through it. Anyway towards the end of one of the stacks was a Yoko Ono remix album of her songs that was in fantastic condition. Anyway I thought it'd be kind of cool to have so I said how much do you want for it and the guy says well I'll take five bucks so I bought it. Come to find out The damn thing is worth at least 200
That’s a great story but it’s worth $5 until you find a buyer.
Yoko Ono??
Hmmmm. 200? Says who?
I need to come into your shop haven't been there in awhile
That glencambell one was a good find
My grandfather bought a box of country jukebox 78’s and asked me if there were any I wanted. As I started flipping through them I thought wouldn’t it be cool if there was an Elvis Sun record in here? A few flips more and there was the telltale yellow label!
The same thing happened to me once, but it was Johnny Cash!!
I bought tears for fears "songs from the big chair". I bought it when it was first released I can't remember if it was 85 or 86 it was something like that. But when I brought it home from the store? It was warped exactly like yours is. I think some of them went out of the factory that way. I know somebody else who has one. it did the same thing that mine did
i see those three golden casket vinyls in the background haha
Only 3? 😂
The Phil Collins one gave me a minor heart attack.
To quote the Johnny Mathis album in the box, "Wonderful, Wonderful". 😁
(I'm a big Mathis fan BTW.)
He never made a bad record.
I would love that buddy Holly record
As a record owner of 31 vinyls, the second record was PAIN to watch 😭
Glad you found a Treasure 😊 👍
Wee oo, that crickets guy is buddy holly
That's probably the best thing that could happen to a Phil Collins album.
Bahahaha! I like Phil Collins, but still hilarious.
Warps can be flattened back out.
I recommend an orb machine! They help tremendously 😊
I'll check it out!
I recently inherited an uncles collection after he passed. I have a Gone With the Wind soundtrack vinyl of all things. Ranges from 20s to early 2000s of most genres. Mainly from my childhood are years from 60s thru 80s and mostly Rock. The 2 damaged vinyls you showed Im pretty sure I have in great condition. I am actually surfing to find the best possible way to store them so that I am able to use the. Something about the sound of that needle on vinyl makes me miss listening. Hubby came home yesterday to hear me jamming to Glenn Campbell!😅😅
Very cool, enjoy your records!!
I've got over 5,000 vinyls. PLEASE store them correctly. This means putting them on a shelf standing up on the bottom edge of the record jacket. Do not try to shove too many together in the space on the shelf. If you want to go an extra step buy plastic sleeves that will protect your records forever. NEVER stack records to top of each other. Have fun!!
I have that tears for fears
I don’t care if that tears for fears is warped I would still buy it I mean if it was still around in the shop
LUCKY I WISH I HAD A ORIGINAL
I still have it, shoot me an email! heavyheads417@gmail.com
But that Phil Collins LP just needs a bit of Elmers and she'll be just fine. Prolly worth at least $75. 😂😂😂
May not be worth it in the shop but its still worth alot of money!
I'm not complaining, that's for sure!!
Glenn Campbell my king 😨
Nice job !
Thank you! Cheers!
I know exactly how you feel, i found Beatles Butcher that way ...same story.
So lucky! Ringo’s black V haunts and alludes me.
That is the holy Grail .
I dig it brother
NOOOO! Don’t touch the vinyl!!! Outside edges and label only.
NICE!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
That Glen Campbell is a nice find too.
just to be safe,,throw out all the tears for fears
Throw them all out? These are the things that you comment about? Come on!?! I'm talking to you...
Airing cupboard- sort your warped records.
His hat has the EXACT same colours as the Phil Collins record lol
If everybody would just throw them away a lot more of them would be rare and worth something
A lot more, and then a lot less.
I know how to fix warp records. It's easy to fix cracks
This boy got wham😂😂❤
I have over 300 albums
I just found a buddy holly and ritchie valens in the same pile along w some other greats want to try and post them to see how well they go here soon. Btw great video new sub here.
Nice! Good luck on those. Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for subscribing! I hope you find some other videos you like too!!
EDGE warps suck -- like a box left in the sun and only one inch warped on each record. Makes first track (or 2) unplayable because stylus flys out the groove. You can try to flatten with a couple bathroom tiles, a clamp, and a torch. Just enough heat might make it playable. Too much heat, might make it bubble up!
I'm still working on the perfect record flattening process. I even bought the vinyl flat, and it's still not 100% consistent...
I spy the Golde Casket by Modest Mouse in the background
I'm sure there are a lot of them to be spied all around, that one didn't sell too well, lol. www.heavyheadsrecords.com/product-page/modest-mouse-the-golden-casket-150g-2lp
Chances Are.
phil collin’s is definitely vg+
Weezer reference?
Glen Campbell looks like Greg Olsen lol
Haha!
Why is he holding it like that😊
May I ask, what turntable do you use? I’m just starting to do my research on them and I’m gathering info. Yours looks pretty nice
That one is a Stanton STR8-100 I believe... I'm also a big fan of Technics 1200's. For regular listening, I also recommend the Audio Technica LP120 with Bluetooth. If you're lazy, and aren't super concerned with quality, check out the Audio Technica LP60.
There’s no $500 sale on discogs. Highest was $199
I feel like I saw the price on a different platform, and that copy was in much better shape than this one...
@@heavyheadsrecords I know what you mean, so many platforms! Discogs also now removes sale history if the transaction is refunded so you still could have seen it on there too
there is a good product called vinyl flat
I actually have one of those, and it's alright. It's a bit hard to keep the heat consistent with my oven, and I haven't quite perfected the process yet...
@@heavyheadsrecords they make a heating pouch. i use it on a timer so i can get consistent results. worth it if u have a lot of records. fix 1 or 2 expensive records will pay for itself.
JOHNNY MATHIS WHY NOT
Ah it will be fine just get some duct tape on it
Make thy vinyl straight
Do you want my Phil Collins cassette
Uh, yeah!!
Hey, Is it ridiculous to spend 15 trillion dollars on a record? Because I did 🤷
I think having 15 trillion dollars is ridiculous.
Lol. But seriously never know this day and age; is accurate: Just out of pure curiosity Which/What record was/is it?
Amateur hour
Link your videos, I want to see what a pro does!
