Both really just dont care, they will put on people who may not be as mainstream as others, and make them memorable. Em has really just kinda rekindled himself in that pocket featuring people like Young MA, Reyes, etc. This is why they seem to be getting better despite time.
The biggest thing about tech is that if you go through his first major album, anghellic and absolute power, you hear the story. His first few albums were stories that gave you insight to what he went through as an artist. I grew up in Kansas and this dude was always going through adversity.
