@@PrincessToyNerd You know, I think his life is something to hope for. Maybe a bit boring in the beginning, wanting to go on and adventure but not having the bravery to do it, until something or someone sparks it inside, then you explore the world, face challenges, and be able to look back and be proud at what you've done and be able to say "I did all that". Then afterwards, old and slow, I can relax and smile at my life, becuase though there were dark times, it was an adventure none the less. So yes, I believe he got his happily ever after, to the end of his days, and I hope you get it as well :).
“It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
This music is like a warm blanket. It tucks you in and calms you deeply. Coming home after a long hard day, listening to the music of Howard Shore and everything vanishes. You hear the Shire, you can see the Shire in your mind... you‘re home.
That's a very accurate description! I remember the first time I listened to the music of the Shire. Back then, I hadn't read the books or watched the movies so I didn't know anything about the place and yet, I had never felt so much at home.
“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”
Never before I had felt sad hearing this song. It's so calm and beautiful. It always brought a smile to my face. Today I feel sad... "Goodby, dear Bilbo..."
Your sitting on a Couch, maybe with a blanket, and reading a book. Besides you a little Desk with some good Tea and Biscuits, on the other Side of your Couch is a big Window to your Garden and trough there a warm, yellow-orange Light from a autumn Sun shines in the room and you can hear some leafs blow i a mild breez outside and in the garden some birds chirping.
Thank you for this. Even a few minutes spent in The Shire is a tonic for these difficult times. Although this is a tribute to Bilbo, it still calls to mind the immortal exchange between Frodo and Gandalf: * Frodo: I wish it need not have happened in my time. * Gandalf: So do I, and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
Even though the Hobbit films are newer, a lot of the soundtrack resonates with me as being just as nostalgic as LotR, especially the themes surrounding Bilbo. I am convinced that it is intentional.
08:21 Rest in piece, Mr. Ian Holm! Thank you for my and all of our childhood for character of Bilbo Baggins because you make us all happier and great fans of Mr. Tolkien!
