Love! Coincidentally, I'm working on a pink nightstand myself. I mixed my own chalk paint to get just the right color, and how I hate those very ridges you mentioned. Sigh! I'm still hand sanding, but when the piece is finished it'll be a fun pop of color in the guest room. I bet your kids want this desk for their own!
