May I just add that we have just brought home 2 Armstrong’s that are in need of total rebuilds. Me and the lad had a confab and it looks like we are going to lose the modern bikes as it’s just way too expensive. The wife is kicking off because I bought a TLM today too. All in need of some serious TLC . I don’t know how to link to you but these 3 bikes will be amazing. We are looking at dropping the frame on the TLM for our build. Firstly we need to get her running properly then strip and rebuild. She rode very nicely but she was top heavy, the front wheel needs moving in slightly, a quick shuffle on the headstock, a cut and shut kind of thing.
Really enjoyed this comparison. You are both good riders too. I wish I had got back into trials after I stopped riding in the mid 80's. I'm too old now. I still enjoy watching it though. You make it look easy, which it certainly is not!
I'm more of an old trail rider than trials and prefer 2T and ride a Sherco SER 250 6 days and have a Bultaco alpina 250 and a Sherpa T 250 both 74 models. Love watching trials stuff and trying out techniques to help me in the tight stuff when trail riding and always looking for a cheap trials bike. Loved the video, looked as though the 2T had a half worn tyre on it compared to the more tractable 4T with near new rubber so it did an exceptional job in that slop. Long live the 2T!
Thats very observant and you were completely correct I had my practice wheels in that have extremely work tyres on! It's all about body position after all. Glad we are reaching out to all those that love a 2 stroke more than ever! We love to hear that the content is reaching all styles of rider. I think you will like the next video then ;-)
My mates switch to the Beta 4 strokes in 2011 and did well on them. I had a ride on them n got no where as it is a technique to master them, but once done had amazing grip on up hill climbs. Beta did a good job with the 4 stroke unlike GasGas that never got to production and the dire Sherco.
100% I believe a 2T is easier to ride, but the 4T is just so much more rewarding when you get it right, and if all else fails I just love the sound of my 4RT, and that cheers me up when it’s all gone wrong. If I was riding week in, week out and cared where I came I’d may an Evo 2T. Probably a 200. I’d still keep the Mont though. It’s a keeper. Good vid. Enjoying them.
I think you really need to be a really good rider to get the most out of a 4 stroke. I remember test riding the 2020 4t apparently the weight is upwards of 80kg when full of fluids. Like that is insane when compared to some 2 strokes like the TRS weighs 65kg and the vertigo at 68kg. Changing the oil in the 4t less is great and you can get 4-5 litre container of castrol or something equivalent. Definitely a lot easier to service than a 4rt , changing gaskets and the pain of getting that oil filter in.

HI Paul, Thank you you for watching! (Also hopefully sharing?) Great question! After riding both of the bikes I can honestly say that they are completely unique. Both are rather hefty units and take some moving around I am not gonna lie! It's completely obvious that I love the Beta brand and I really look into how a bike rides and feels through the head angle and positioning of the pegs for me personally. So on that notion I can say that I prefer the riding position on the Beta but I feel the Montesa is the more responsive engine. I understand that doesn't really help but that's what I have taken away from both bikes. They are simply so different. I did like the Mont though. Which I didn't think I would. (I am also a fan of the big Japanese companies being involved still in trials.)
No it helps alot, thanks. Any chance of a video on how to set up fork & shock? How should the forks react when correctly set up for rebound and compression?

🤔😂😂😂that makes me feel worse... I’ve got a woodland in my gdn...just in from a 2hr play
Getting there...😂💕😍
Just a thought!! Would be good once you have established the channel to think of running a parallel Beginner Riding Technique channel... similar to “Jitsie”🤔👍
@@BillCairns Its like you have read our mind as this channel will 100% have this coming for you all very soon. The more views and share we get the more chance we have of doing this more and more. The current videos take a week to put together and we intend to make sure we can have this level of content across all levels. We also have some very special guests and trips lined up. Keeping the content to the highest level.

Great you 2 👍👍🇬🇧
2 Stroke all the way!
Correct lol
Brilliant informative video. Danny you've ridden both Montesa 300rr and now Beta 4t, what's your views on the differences between them?
Keep up the great work.
HI Paul, Thank you you for watching! (Also hopefully sharing?)
Great question!
I Like Motorcirkal Trial ...!!!
Trial riders are better looking ? Their helmets don't cover face,
too many ads on these videos :(
Sorry bud I don't control how the add's work. Of course YT premium customers don't get them. Although stick it out for the love of the channel!
4t ftw
Haha is that right?!
i see your selling your beta, nows your chance go green
Haha is that right? We do have a test of the green machine coming up!
Rev 2t 👋👋
looks so much cleaner and smoother on the 2 stroke
Agreed!
Great sport, not well knowing in America.
That’s a shame and I hope we can change that!!
Get on with it.jeez that's not how I rode trials.
I won't win a British trials round.
Get on with it….sounds like patience ain’t a virtue
4t just sounds like a fart
Accurate description
how can u say a 4 stroke is maintance free? and that sounds is fucking awful. 4 strokes need much more maintance than a 2 stroke.
Less maintenance day in and day out. The four stroke re-build rate in trials is wwwwaaaaaayyyyy lower..
and it comes with a kick start on the "correct" side🫡
