    Please be advised that what you call tappets are actually called valve stem keepers. Tappets are lifters " flat TAPPET lifter." I enjoy your videos pretty accurate for the most part and a solid guide to any diy-er that may see them.

    wauw!!! thanks for all the info! busy replacing the valve retainers and lapping valves , so this tutorial really helped me open my mind on doing the disassembly and assembly of the valves!!!! thanks again from BRASIL!!!!!!

    There should be 16 links between timing marks

      right, the intake cam should be in offset for correct timing

      16 rollers actually haha! Just Fuckin with ya. I get what you’re saying. What I don’t get is why he would disassemble the head and not replace the chain tensioner with a new unit. Even if you reuse the tensioner you have to compress it so slowly and most people don’t have the patience, that’s why so many people break the tool. That cylinder #2 combustion chamber carnage alone would have me picking up a different head from the wrecking yard.

      @@rz6041 you actually want to set the alignment marks on the intake side and then count back to the exhaust side and it should be slightly to the left. Like when you do the belt and release the tensioner and the cam gear timing mark will be half a tooth counter clockwise.

      12 intake 8 exhaust since its a 20v engine, 3 intake and 2 exhaust valves per cylinders for 4 cylinders
