The wonders of RUclips. Only discovered Steven in the last few days. Watching Mitch Hedburg my guiding light and saviour RUclips. Presented Steven Wright. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Saw him on Ferguson too. Me thinks he made Conan O'Brien a bit uncomfortable - haha! Someone told me that they just saw him touring somewhere in the States. Does anyone know what happened to the video he had on here that begins w/his shack in the middle of the desert? It was ace and it suddenly vanished. Not that old either.
going on late night and promoting someone else's work does more to advertise who he is as a comedian and get people interested than actually promoting his own work ever could. kind of genius if you ask me
@@josephdykes1820 i actually turned that joke into a serious discussion on a utube post on rocket sled tracks or rather the geeks on the post did! the joke went right over their heads!
He's one of the main characters in the upcoming "emoji movie" movie. You can obviously tell from the trailer that it's his voice. I was happy to see he got the job (since the industry is evil and spits everyone out) He's obviously the meh emoji, of course
I'm using "pro youtube downloader" to make an MP3 of this clip so I can listen to it on my Ipod.I've already bought all histhe stuff I could find in the Itunes store.
9:08 shows the beauty of his comedy. There’s so many ways to rearrange it. I can imagine that bit being cut down to: “I once dated a seamstress who worked for a straightjacket company. She was very controlling.”
I couldn't stand Conan, so I didn't see this when it aired. Thanks 4 posting, I LOVE Steven Wright so much, I even use some of his one liners as email "signatures".
Mr. Wright, you are a mighty talent and I figure (hope) in maybe 5 more years you'll have enough new material for a couple more fabulous years on the road (or albums, CD's DVD's are fine) although I must say your expressions (and lack thereof) and your body language (subtle as it is) adds to the set. IOW"s I like to watch your videos.....LOL. (what you make me do)
"She was a very controlling woman - she was a seamstress at a straightjacket company." That one almost sounds a bit like a Rodney Dangerfield-type one liner.
@@LaFlaneuse0I do agree. It was early, edgy deadpan Gen X humor. But it's hard to see how you can stretch that act out for years. He had a good run, though. He even won an Academy Award.
I remember seeing Steven on Carson. I thought he was totally baked, just stoned out of his gourd and I couldn't figure out why Carson let him on. I took a few puffs, ...... and it dawned on me.
Loved Steven but this video is from the late 90's and I can't believe none of his friends got him aside and said, "dude, that hair just has to go. It's awful". LOL
Best all time... or at least he's my favorite. Also I think Conan is one of the better late night hosts... at least in terms of interviewing. W/ that said... that might be due to the fact that Late Night has now removed comedy from their agenda, and focused primarily on Russian collusion. I guess I don't find it funny despite the fact it is a complete joke.
One of a kind and one of the best. Love this guy.
Steven Wright is so awesome. I love him.
The opening "song" was brilliant. It set the tone for his type of comedy. Well done.
I was talking to a gorgeous woman and......... Wait a minute that wasn't me .....Steven wright
Steven is a one of a kind comedian. There’s nobody that does his style of comedy. He’s so hilarious 😄👍
He's the king of hiding emotion. Was fun to see him light up a few times.
Agreed! He came across as wired compared to usual. Very fun
Part of his whole routine is his unemotional delivery so he always tries to hide it lol, he always covers his mouth when he starts to smile
That's Billy Breathes, released Oct 1996, for anyone wondering...and it is a great album by one of the best jam bands of all time...thx uploader!

steven and conan two of my favorite tv people. salute
I like to reminisce with people I don't know. -Steven Wright
That is what I liked about Conan, he joins right into the quirky humor of Steven Wright. I love watching him on my radio. (????????)
Steven is the best. Dead pan and clean.
Good upload. His appearance on Craig Ferguson is also steven wright interview gold.

Could you imagine if this was actually happening?
You would think Conan being a Boston boy would get it but it seems Conan is acting like a lame ass that's been in Hollywood too long.
going on late night and promoting someone else's work does more to advertise who he is as a comedian and get people interested than actually promoting his own work ever could. kind of genius if you ask me
Absolutely! "Hey, did you hear about Steven Wright promoting someone else's album?" Puts his name in the middle of the conversation.
I’m gonna buy a humidifier and a dehumidifier and put em in a room and let them fight it out!
I was flying at the speed of light and then turned the headlights on
Steven Wright is contagious . Don't tell the World Health Organization.

97 what a year! I was 15. Wright was and is the best comic ever. Lots of Phish shoes for me in those days too.
I was 5
I was 15 in 97'....and 16 in 98'
(Said in Steven Wrights voice)
I was not.
Genius she do a segment for him on him going over the lyrics
I always like this guy. He was really funny in Desperately Seeking Susan.

Wait.. what!?
lmfao. Steven got me with his first fuckin' line, long black hair...
There’s people from that audience who still haven’t got the joke.
5:35 Literally the loudest I've ever heard Steven

@youssarian ... right after ...... as long as Steve still has his fingers, the album is doing well.
Steven is the Adrian Belew of Comedy.
And Adrian is the Steven Wright of electric guitar music .
😵💫
Looks like Dave Attell's addition tape for "Subway Demon" in Ghost.
this is awesome
Think I just realized that David Blain try’s to talk like Steven Wright.
Try's? Really?
Yes anything Phish, easily the best album to throw out.
Like a near-catatonic Woody Allen.
He's right up there with Carlin and Groucho I'd say. So freakin' funny!
Fantastic

yeahhhhh
I would love to see him on some roasts , I bet he could come up with some stuff.
Why aren't there any updated Steven Wright gigs? What's he up to? Quit the biz?
Hmm, you wrote this 2 years ago, but I saw him in Las Vegas in 2016...
I can relate to that !
"She was a very controlling woman - she was a seamstress at a straightjacket company." That one almost sounds a bit like a Rodney Dangerfield-type one liner.
Brilliant.
YOU'RE ALWAYS HAVING ONE-SIDED CONVERSATIONS
3 Legends...
Steven Wright
Conan
And...
Phish!
I’ve seen...witnessed the wit of these 3 Legends live!
why Steven Wright is not as famous as he should be beats me...
conan made him laugh at 3:30
Love this guy very much! But, he looks so much like an underrated actor by the name of Christopher Lambert!
This guy is the funniest of all time!
He was huge in the late 80s. Then he kind of faded out.
Probably went out of fashion or something. This humor seems like it fit right into the period it was in.
I love it though.
Maybe you disagree with that statement though.
@@LaFlaneuse0I do agree. It was early, edgy deadpan Gen X humor. But it's hard to see how you can stretch that act out for years. He had a good run, though. He even won an Academy Award.

Conan is one of the few hosts that could break Steven Wright.
i hope steven saw a dentist and had his bottom teeth fixed

Billy breathes is an excellent album.
Double Header: Steven Wright & Robin Williams
Plugging Phish was a joke because they suck.
I met a redheaded girl with blond black hair? Where?
86 Olympics
Conan
lightweight turned heavyweight
He sounds like garfield and carlton the door man from Rhoda.
Those are the same guy... But not Steven Wright.
CRY LAUGHING
King of the non-sequiter. No doubt.
Yeah but you should see him dance!
I love everything about Steven Wright, other than him telling me I should listen to Phish. I don’t want to listen to Phish.
That fucking hair 😂
Steven, you look a lot like Elvis ...and Conan, looks a lot like Sinatra, or maybe Jerry Lewis ...it's a strange world
"She's a strumpet" lol
Larry Fine would be proud ...
Looks like nobody understood his opening song 😂😂😂
Tig Notaro is so tall...
It's like if Pauly Shore took Valium

promoting someone else's album cause his ex-con manager said so
She was a redhead girl with long black hair lmao
