ABOUT THE NASHVILLE NETWORK (TNN) SERIES "MELODY RANCH THEATER" The program featured Gene Autry's classic B Western movies, cut down for television, with original opening and closing segments with America's favorite singing cowboy and his comedic sidekick Pat Buttram reminiscing about the making of the movies and events in the industry at the time. Guests also visited with Gene and Pat, including Pee Wee King, George Sherman, Ann Rutherford, and Roy Rogers. A total of 91 episodes were made and The Nashville Network received some of its highest ratings with "Melody Ranch Theater." In 2001, after a yearlong search, these conversations, known as wraparounds, were found and restored by Gene Autry Entertainment. Each film's wraparounds can be seen on the DVD releases as bonus material. Read more: www.geneautry.....

I just wanted to say thank you for uploading and preserving clips from Gene's Melody Ranch Theater series. I've always been a little disheartened that a LOT of material from the early days of The Nashville Network has seemingly been lost to time or unavailable to the public, and there's so little information online about the programing of the channel (heck, this show doesn't even have an IMDb entry!) that's it's quite refreshing to discover that both Melody Ranch Theater (as well as Roy Rogers' Happy Trails Theater) are released as bonus features on DVDs and streaming.

My Father gave me the gift of music and among my earliest and dearest memories, was him introducing me to the music of Gene Autry.
"Silver haired daddy of mine" and "Twilight on the trail" were the first and I cherish them to this day.
Thank you for posting this insight to a true American Icon.

too late for Gene to know that part of the autry family bloodline from the gr gr grandfathers Autry line grew up in albuquerque, and now live in TX...their gr-grandparents autry lived in Enid OK.
ps/they grew up as "Baptists" and still walk in their faith. Back then those Baptist ministers were praying for their future generations walking in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.
