Cap'n Marty At fist I took a liking to the monk but during the middle of the story I absolutely hated him I can’t believe he didn’t feel any sympathy for the villagers. He’s extremely selfish and disgusting.

Jacob Woods Not many know God, They nitpick a few scriptures from the Bible without reading even a book or the whole thing and Judge him immediately. If many knew God then there wouldn't be such wanton reckless hatred in the world today.
From the bottom of my heart, i thank Yasuharu Takanashi for giving us this and "Eau de Vie". I mean really, thank you very much, these wonderful pieces connect with my soul.
Don't understand why so many people say that "it is complicated to choose a side in the anime"... The thing is, there are no sides in the story (we use to create a "choosing sides" ideology, merely because of our human and emotional reasoning), it is quite simple if you watch it from a biological perspective. Shiki, in the moment they die, they just become a different specie, a specie that follows natural, basic instincts. They are human predators, that's it. And humans are no monsters either, they just found out that a new predator is in town, and if they want to survive, they have to eradicate the uprising plague. The anime is not about a war between two emotional factions, and it doesn't try to portrait humanity's evilness... It is just a representation of biological clash between predators and preys, but also, how knowledge and unity can transform prey into hunter.
In my opinion shiki is neither about monsters nor about vampires. It's about the concepts of freedom, responsibility, guilt and punishment / revenge. I think it was Buddha who said "There are just actions but no one who acts" and I also remember Sunako saying "There is no murder without intent. And if there is intent, then there is a reason." In my view this is the real message of Shiki: Every crime that is committed and every suffering that is caused by someone's actions is terrible and regrettable. But punishment and revenge, which are based on the belief in responsibility and guilt, are also one of these actions because they lead to suffering (instead of improvement) themselves. Good and bad things just happen. If someone did something wrong, then try to help him _and_ the victims, so this kind of crime gets prevented. People who do something wrong have their reasons. *They are no demons, but people* - like the shiki are too. (Sorry for mistakes I might have made. English isn't my mother tongue)
A failure to act with only lead to more suffering even if you must make another suffer for the sake of a preventative action. Mercy and sympathy are detrimental in such serious matters but empathy and understanding are useful to properly understand the opponent and thus better act against them. If anything this show was useful in its showing of the extent to which people are willing to abide suffering and injustice if it's resolution requires even a portion responsibility for the same to be allotted to them. I think a large part is that the crimes of the vampires are insidious were as the human response is outwardly violent and brutal no matter that the vampires killed more and less discriminately and that they inducted new brethren through a tactic of communal guilt, in much the same way as particularly reprehensible criminal gangs do. It's a fairly common problem in developed nations for horrific actions to be enabled by a public in denial, a pitiful police, complacent politicians and a craven legal system, everything is swept under the rugs for the sake of their weak stomachs. Japan is ironically one of the nation's least affected by it, but in my nation it leads to absurdist denials of reality like classifying 9 year olds as totally legit prostitutes to justify inaction (on top of public apathy, poor press coverage, political cover ups and those actually making it to court getting joke sentences, often in secret trials these days as they are more afraid of discontent from victim communities and vigilantism than serving justice or enacting preventative measures).
Most tragic anime I've ever seen, sometimes I had to stop watching because it was too harsh, but the meaning is very deep and only for a mature public. This is a real piece of art in every term. Megumi's death will forever be stuck in my head.
Been listening to this for years and just now realized the female whispers that start around 6:15 will actually alternate which ear they play in if you listen with head phones, they only play one side at a time until towards the end and it really sells the illusion that someone is actually whispering in your ear. Such a small detail but it's all the little things like that which really add up to make this masterpiece of music.
Even though I've heard this track a lot, I finished all 24 episodes a few minutes ago, after picking up from episode 6, the series is absolutely perfect in story execution as well as making you feel uneasy, it shows how true vampires are supposed to be, none of this twilight sparkling shit. GO WATCH IT!!
Agree r u for the shiki or against. Most of the shiki I feel sorry for because they didn't want to become monsters but they were made to hunt or they will attack their families. Also if u were in their shoes would u want to go through hell once again or want to live because u r scared. But all the time u shoulder the burden of having to kill.
sage’s swords It's a 50/50 deal for me, on one hand the shiki are fighting for survival, but they are killing others too, and the mortals are murdering them but are fighting for themselves, in the end, neither of them win and it'll only continue
Used to get annoyed that RUclips shows you videos you've already watched, but now I'm thankful, since I got to rediscover this masterpiece. Wow, I still get chills. It's so powerful and soulful. I remember crying to this show, during the part where they're dragging the vampires kicking and screaming out of the tunnels so that they'll die in the sunlight. Powerful piece of media. It's been almost 15 years. I'm a whole adult now. Wow.
dont know which arc is sadder to watch: Nao`s inability to return to her family, Tohru and Ritsu being able to hold hands until the very end of their lives, or kaori slow descent into madness after her family is taken away one by one.
I watched this when I was 15 and it scarred me for life, and completely changed my perspective of the world. Mind you I've seen other darker anime before this but nothing so morally and psychologically compelling and twisting. I felt empty after watching this, and nothing before nor after has ever made me fill this way to such an extent.

Most underrated anime of all time, but I do understand why, this anime is seriously deep on a very high psychological level, the problematic of this work is groundbreaking, not everyone can comprehend such things, not everyone can get into deep stuff. People claim "HunterxHunter is deep" but they haven't seen this, the story will keep you thinking for years and years after you finish it, and the more you understand things and develop them more and more the better the story gets. The woman who wrote this is a genius. Humans vs Supernatural Beings who consume humans, this is not like Tokyo Ghoul (not that I hate it), where the story constantly tries to deem one side good and one evil, this one is quite grayish and it's up to the viewer to find out which side is darker and which is lighter by a bit, but that's the most epic point, it questions the viewer and the viewer himself has to question things, if the entire point got to the viewer it's really hard to point out whose actions were more justified.
***** Yeah there are actually hundreds of people with literally pure hearts, and there are hundreds of those who'd massacre children, but most of the people are gray, they aren't legitimately good nor evil, even your casual culprits have their stories.
+Epsilon I agree. There's people who say that angle beats, one piece, naruto, and many other overrated anime's are deep, but when I watch anime or other tv shows the only deep ones are the ones with a lot of gore and torture. This is just what I think.
+Mohammad Malik Lots of anime can be deep if you try hard. One Piece contains ALOT of greek philosophy and allegories of death. The show doesn't claim or need to be that deep hence most people doesn't see or care about it. Shiki is probably one the best psychological and philosophical tale in anime along with Death Note and Steins;Gate because it want to be this way. Most underrated animes are on the same track. Wanting to be deep is not winner unfortunately.
***** I am sorry, but I think you don't really understand the meaning of the word "allegory", also I highly doubt One Piece has anything like Greek Philosophy.
One unnoticed part about Shiki is that everyone has a different favorite(and least favorite) character. Every character has a different personality, even side characters like the nurses or other family members. It's so amazing I bet even the grandma is somebody's favorite character.
zalfight Like Axel said, Shiki, I ABSOLUTELY recommend it. Possibly the most likely anime to force you to make a hard decision, do you want to side with one or the other, i'll leave it at that ;)
This series was absolutely magical for me. The only show I have ever seen where the music fits perfectly with every scene that has it, and where every time I hear a certain song, it immediately brings me back to the exact scene I heard and feel the same emotions as the characters. This entire soundtrack can almost tell the entire story of the show just in the songs alone. Seriously. Try it. Yasuharu Takanashi is an absolute genius with all of his music. But THIS... this is a novel in pure song
The best part of this anime was the dilemma it put you through. No one was in the fault in my opinion and i believe the anime tried to explain that too. But in end it depends on the morals of each person. I personally would want to survive thus suck the blood of someone. But also on the other hand I'd kill such creature if it was for my own survival. This anime presented humanity's true nature. In the end even when no one is at fault we will strive for our survival, even if it means to kill.
the closest the story has to a guilty antagonist are the kirishiki family, especially Sunako and Tatsumi, who where deliberately targeting sotoba and its inhabitants strategically, trying to getting rid of the ones aware of their plans, the rest of the shiki were mere servants(the jinrou girl), unwilling underlings(tohru) or conflicted individuals(nao).
Ono Fuyumi's Shiki. This manga is like a secret treasure, hidden between others because of how underrated it is. It has a very strong plot, definitely needs more attention.
I was absolutely terrified of this show. Watched it at night, first anime to ever do that to me. Brilliant show though, so heart wrenching. Made vampires seem indestructible and complete monsters. Takes a turn and humanizes them while turning humans into the monsters. And a wonderful soundtrack to boot. A tragically underrated show.
this anime gave me more feels than any other....the soundtrack made it complete...WORTH GETTING AND EVERY MINUTE. The slower paced anime takes time but the character development and climax area are extremely powerful. Never has an anime brought me to tears...seriously... wow
Wow this is Yasuharu Takanashi? For his work from Naruto and Fairy Tail he was already on the top of my favorite anime compossers together with Yuki Kajiura but now I know he also composed Shiki he's definitely my number 1.
Aye-Tee Slapsyou Ahhh now it all makes sense. When I first heard this, I kept thinking this sounds soooo similar to an ost in Naruto called 'Decision', or official name 'Mother and Father'. The female vocal bits anyway, and especially how it rises up. Haha.
An anime so powerful that makes you question your Existence and makes you realize that all that is right or wrong, good and bad are just mere perceptions of your inner mind.
my mother thinks i look at anime for the plot. which is true, but there are many reasons why i choose anime; this video being one of them - this song has such an unbelievable amount of the pure gift of composing....wonderfully and perfectly done.
This was one of my first real anime. when I was younger and watched it for the first time, I supported Ozaki fully and was on the humans side. When I got older and re watched the anime, I found myself growing very attached to Muroi. He, in spite of everything he had ever learned, sided with the child who had been forsaken by God. Truly a beautiful saga.
This was one of the saddest animes I've watched so far. It makes you think about all the wars that have happened and that in reality nobody wins in them - each side has lost something sentimental and there's no way of getting it back. And it brings the question - who is worse? The monsters or the humans? This anime made me think about my whole existence and the world in general...
Music is not my entertainment, music is my invisible friend, helps me when I need help, inspire me when need help, gives me strength when I am down. I wanna personally thank to the person who has composer such emotional soundtrack, I admire your creativity and trust me your talent is god gift , coz I believe your music can heal people and thanks for sharing.
28-3-2020 It has been what atleast 8 years since i've seen the anime. I still wish till this day that I could relive that story. Feel the emotions again like it was the first time. This story hit me as one of the deepest and I will never forget this. This track sums up what the story was like.
"We gathered here, for the mourning of a heart. Hoping that this one will have a peaceful depart." Yet another one gone, taken away with the rest. The priest kisses the coffin, leaving behind a scent that is blessed. I adjust my skirt, and start darting my eyes. Those tears on there faces goes well with there lies. They all started standing, a woman started bawling in the back. And suddenly I felt it, my heart started to crack. Something started to burn, but I felt like I was drowning. I recounted the memories of him, my lips formed each in counting. They all started to file out, his grave leading the way. But I couldn't follow the deceased, so I chose to stay. My face was now wet, And I felt like I was seeing stars. His smile that was so near, now felt so far. This was the end, and I was to naive to notice it. Maybe I should join him, Maybe I should quit. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I could swear it was him. But it was just my sister, with her smile looking grim. I stood up and sighed, just like the day before. I should've been with him, this life is a chore. I followed her out, clasping my hands behind my back. And I whispered a parting. And I said goodbye to the church colored in black.
I just finished this damn Anime, I've never been divided in my thoughts like this anime have made me. This anime, legitimately made me think with a horrific imaginations of the implications and scenariosit produced... Hollywood has yet to produce something like this that swayed my thinking by division, ever since.
I've never watched an anime that kept me thinking about it for so long. Everything else I tried to watch I just couldn't because it wasn't as good. This show is truly a masterpiece
Shiki has one of the most beautiful OSTs I've ever heard. Ethereal and haunting. Yasuharu Takanashi really created something magnificent. I miss this anime. I wish I could see it for the first time again.
Such profound sadness and beauty. A stir of melancholia under which lies a yearning hope. I have no idea what anime this is, but I have the immense desire to watch it!
If your a bibicat stay clear of this one, it's creepy, cruel and sad. No laughs during Shiki. HOWEVER do yourself a favor and watch the last episode, promise, from the moment this music kicks in. You will not often see such a perfect harmony and match between storyline, characters and sound(track). Its as close to perfection as it gets!
1:04-2:00 This part sounds like the main summarizing of the eternal relationship between life and death... The singing voices resemble life in its most realistic and touching way, while the organ resembles death. Beautiful.
I love this anime. Especially how at first it's presented as the few main characters are Toshio, Megumi, Natsuno and maybe Seishin. And at first they're all linked together and it seems that the vampires are going to be the cliche bad guys. But then all of the 'main' characters diverge and you start to see that the shiki have their reasons for acting like they do, they just don't want to die. It's really an anime that makes you think about what it is to be human. Is it really just a beating heart?
this anime really made my heart wrench painfully. Its philosophies are so deep and intense that I had to take time to lie down and sort out my thoughts and ideologies. I even held off other psychological anime because my brain and heart simply reached its emotional capacity. The graphic scenes are not as heartbreaking as the reason the shiki were culled. They just wanted to live, unfortunately at the expense of humans, who want to live too. Both sides can't understand each other and ultimately can't coexist. The soundtrack really struck a cord in me - it's like Naruto's soundtrack except it's sad and emotional all the time. I hope people take the time out of their lives to watch this anime. In here, it's an unceasing debate between survival and morality, and sometimes the people were more monsters than the shiki.
If you can say your heart doesn't change Then that is strength. Those are the lines I will always think of when I think about Natsuno and his position on the Shiki. He is one of the strongest characters in the series, closely followed by Ritsuko (nurse).
tohru's and natsuno's deaths are the most unfair thing happened in the whole fucking anime world.and ace's from op.these deaths make me still depressed like i was there, like i knew them.
From all the anime I have seen, this one portrays reality the best. This is how stuff is sometimes. NO one is wrong, but you have to survive. And in my opinion, that's the beauty of life.
Oh my... so nostalgic. Shiki was my favourite vampire like anime, and at first didn't realize it was about vampires but ghosts. It was the first manga i read till the end. And the anime didn't dissapoint. Plus, it gave us this masterpiece.
Man, it's been over a year and I still can't get over this anime. I thought I was going to go in, choose a side, and watch as, as I thought, inevitably humans won. Nope. Nopenopenopeity-fucking-nope. Holy crap. I rarely ever get emotional, like seriously emotional over anime, but this one really had me thinking and rethinking and just questioning everything. This is a rare type of media where you can see how thin the line between survival and greed is and it's done so beautifully. I'll be honest and say that the artsyle is what really got me. It looked very pretty and romantic and nothing like I would expect a show with this kind of plot and message to have, which definitely heightened it. I think the only reason why I'd give it a thumbs down is because my fragile heart was not prepared for the psychological and emotional input it was bombarded with. Gods, this was a lovely and refreshing anime to watch and I wish it would get more recognition and not just be written off because people are expecting another cliche vampire love story.
Something really deep about this is the fact that Sunako never gave up on talking to God, even after more than a century of being a Shiki. She had so much fate in something that had essentially “forsaken” her.
I think to this day Shiki is the best anime I've seen so far. Unmatched in 10 years at least! The soundtrack is phenomenal, really adding to the atmopshere & mood of so many scenes. Character designs are unique, the story is brilliant. The manga is fantastic too, although I've never had the chance to read the original novels. I was never really on either side during the series, just interested to see how everything played out. Yeah, it might not be perfect to some but for me it's 10/10 & I'm convinced nothing will ever top it for me. :)
But the story is never finished. You never know what becomes of the town or the girl. Kind of bittersweet if you ask me. Good story, but I can’t fathom anyone enjoying a cliffhanger that is indefinite. Because you’ll always wonder what was going to happen next
I listened to this song, before watching the anime, and i kept listening it to fall asleep. Now i just finished the anime and i'm honestly speachless. I dont know who the bad guys were, the shiki or the humans? Of course the humans had to kill them to survive, but the shiki themselves had no other choice but to kill, as they all just wanted to survive too. I'm now in this kind of situation where you think of it over and over and you dont seem to find a real answer to your question. In this case my question is wether it was right to kill the shiki or not ....
Just like all philosophical questions, there's no right (or wrong) answer. :) Though the anime made the humans out to be the bigger monsters, especially in that special episode, I'd say both sides were at fault in one way or the other. It just couldn't be helped.
Ryan Platts True, and i think this applies to the world in general too, doesnt it? Some countries always try to come out on top, then there is a war where soldiers have to kill, even if they dont want to. Great Anime, it really reflects how this world works.
I am drawn to Yasuharu Takanashi's music without knowing omg! Watched the anime, loved the song, searched on RUclips and found out it is Yasuharu Takanashi again!
Actually, in the other ost's I couldn't really notice. But when I heard this one, especially at 3:50, I had a feeling that this was Yasuharu Takanashi's work.
I can remember forcing myself to stay up all night to watch every single episode refusing to sleep till I had finished....I think I went to sleep about 8 in the morning afterwards.
I came for the music, and stayed for the anime. I'm still new to the whole anime thing, and I don't resonate with them all really... but this was a fantastic show.

Jacob Woods Not many know God, They nitpick a few scriptures from the Bible without reading even a book or the whole thing and Judge him immediately.
If many knew God then there wouldn't be such wanton reckless hatred in the world today.
+Saul Skywalker That's why people should learn. If one is to generalize such things as this, they miss the simple truth.
+eddieguererro46 IK it' really fucked up how you become an enemy of god even though it isn't your fault.
From the bottom of my heart, i thank Yasuharu Takanashi for giving us this and "Eau de Vie". I mean really, thank you very much, these wonderful pieces connect with my soul.
For giving us the whole soundtrack collection* ;)
+Ae Ri Shin ur right
Yasuharu Takanashi composed the soundtracks for Naruto, Fairytail, Shiki and Hell girl.
Genius.
For Naruto Shippuden only. For Naruto, it was another legend "Toshiro Masuda".
That's the whole reason i started this anime
@@DragBoi69 Same, and I think his work on Shiki is by far my favorite of his

This anime was truly one of the most beautiful anime ever.
Thanks to this soundtrack I decided to watch the anime and I have to admit... It was worth it.

And if there is intent, then there is a reason."
In my view this is the real message of Shiki: Every crime that is committed and every suffering that is caused by someone's actions is terrible and regrettable.
Your words are beautiful thank you :)
@@kimberlyalvarez3039 And thank you for your appreciation :)
Appreciate it.
Which one?
what one?
Megumi's first death as a human, or her final death as a Shiki.
Then again... it could be both.
as a shiki :) it was very hard to watch
She just want a new life out of village ,a contry girl who wanna be shine in city town but she couldn't.....poor girl
Been listening to this for years and just now realized the female whispers that start around 6:15 will actually alternate which ear they play in if you listen with head phones, they only play one side at a time until towards the end and it really sells the illusion that someone is actually whispering in your ear. Such a small detail but it's all the little things like that which really add up to make this masterpiece of music.
where can you watch this anime?
Even though I've heard this track a lot, I finished all 24 episodes a few minutes ago, after picking up from episode 6, the series is absolutely perfect in story execution as well as making you feel uneasy, it shows how true vampires are supposed to be, none of this twilight sparkling shit. GO WATCH IT!!
I couldn't agree more
Agree r u for the shiki or against.
Hmm good answer u spelled shiki wrong damn u spell checker!!!!!!!
sage’s swords Fixed it, and yes, fuck autocorrect

This song makes me remember everyone who died in the village of Sotoba :(
I know right. This anime made me question my humanity .
Same for me >_
Dead ?? i remember Killed , Transformed and Head-Smashed ...
*Cries*
I still feel bad for the Shiki, they just wanted to live...
I have watched over 200 anime and shiki is the only one I scored 10/10. Truly masterpiece
This anime is probably the best psychological thriller of all time honestly. It makes you think and feel so much for just being 24 episodes.
Hands down one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard...
Wow.
Shiki always will have a special place in my heart , a such tragic story , i still remember nights watching it and seeing that animes can teach a lot.
Sublime.
Re del sud, che piacere trovarla qui
Non avrei saputo trovare parole migliori @Mortebianca
Queste ost competono con quelle di Naruto e qualitativamente sono migliori, ma Naruto resta superiore per la quantità di colonne sonore
Parere personale
3:44 This has such a cinematic feeling. Wow, I'm lost for words..
This track always makes me remember the last Nao's scenes, which are according to me the most moving... Made me cry so much !
dont know which arc is sadder to watch: Nao`s inability to return to her family, Tohru and Ritsu being able to hold hands until the very end of their lives, or kaori slow descent into madness after her family is taken away one by one.
I watched this when I was 15 and it scarred me for life, and completely changed my perspective of the world. Mind you I've seen other darker anime before this but nothing so morally and psychologically compelling and twisting. I felt empty after watching this, and nothing before nor after has ever made me fill this way to such an extent.
same for me but it changed me for better. and I was not scared. Thats when I noticed that I am different.
i watched this when i was 15 too it affected me so much
@@everlastingchaos3558 I'm sure many of us feel like this whenever we listen to this piece but I wanted to express it into my own terms: This music touches your soul. It's as if we are so familiar with the sounds but we can't put them into words. It's as if it tries to reach our hearts. It's like we are put into a trance and we know every detail. They are far away yet close. You have a feeling of genuine belonging and good old memories of past occurrences become once again present.. I don't know what else to say or how to put these words differently to making sense of it.. That's roughly it. I'm just so fascinated by this masterpiece.. This has nothing to do with the topic here but I know I'll always stay lonely unless I listen to this..

Watch 'From The New World'.
Humans vs Supernatural Beings who consume humans, this is not like Tokyo Ghoul (not that I hate it), where the story constantly tries to deem one side good and one evil, this one is quite grayish and it's up to the viewer to find out which side is darker and which is lighter by a bit, but that's the most epic point, it questions the viewer and the viewer himself has to question things, if the entire point got to the viewer it's really hard to point out whose
actions were more justified.
***** Yeah there are actually hundreds of people with literally pure hearts, and there are hundreds of those who'd massacre children, but most of the people are gray, they aren't legitimately good nor evil, even your casual culprits have their stories.
+Salamander108 So what? You'd call yourself a perfectly good person with not even the slightest traits of evil?
@MaiRi love Good for you she's one of the few characters that survived :')
@MaiRi love yes she is your favorite character to the point where you spread fake information about her lmao
Loved the anime loved the OST :)
what show?
zalfight Like Axel said, Shiki, I ABSOLUTELY recommend it. Possibly the most likely anime to force you to make a hard decision, do you want to side with one or the other, i'll leave it at that ;)
I watched this anime after reading your comment, and I came back to say that I loved the ost much more than the anime :)
sora kun I completely agree
sora kun can i have the link to watch this anime :) thanks
Shi-ki soundtrack was so good, have been listening to this like a decade whenever feeling melancholic, love this track so much
This series was absolutely magical for me.
KertiOn Noobless well spoken
the closest the story has to a guilty antagonist are the kirishiki family, especially Sunako and Tatsumi, who where deliberately targeting sotoba and its inhabitants strategically, trying to getting rid of the ones aware of their plans, the rest of the shiki were mere servants(the jinrou girl), unwilling underlings(tohru) or conflicted individuals(nao).
KertiOn Noobless very true we all want to survive
Ono Fuyumi's Shiki. This manga is like a secret treasure, hidden between others because of how underrated it is.
It has a very strong plot, definitely needs more attention.
I was absolutely terrified of this show. Watched it at night, first anime to ever do that to me. Brilliant show though, so heart wrenching. Made vampires seem indestructible and complete monsters. Takes a turn and humanizes them while turning humans into the monsters. And a wonderful soundtrack to boot. A tragically underrated show.
Agreed. I thought they were indestructible but they were so fragile at the same time..
Indeed, very true
Deepest messages ever!!! A masterpiece like none other
this anime gave me more feels than any other....the soundtrack made it complete...WORTH GETTING AND EVERY MINUTE. The slower paced anime takes time but the character development and climax area are extremely powerful. Never has an anime brought me to tears...seriously... wow
This anime along with its OST's are art...10//10 MUST WATCH for anime fans. Nuff said
+Zayne My thoughts exactly
Wow this is Yasuharu Takanashi? For his work from Naruto and Fairy Tail he was already on the top of my favorite anime compossers together with Yuki Kajiura but now I know he also composed Shiki he's definitely my number 1.
Aye-Tee Slapsyou Ahhh now it all makes sense. When I first heard this, I kept thinking this sounds soooo similar to an ost in Naruto called 'Decision', or official name 'Mother and Father'. The female vocal bits anyway, and especially how it rises up. Haha.
Aye-Tee Slapsyou I also love Yuki Kaijuro too! High fives ! 👌
An anime so powerful that makes you question your Existence and makes you realize that all that is right or wrong, good and bad are just mere perceptions of your inner mind.
I came back every year to listen this masterpiece.
Shiki and Steins Gate are 2 of the best shows ever made.
I haven't been so emotionally submerged in an anime bgm track ever. But Shiki, damn you can make me emotional!
yeah it makes me more emotional to the females i want to open myself for them show them who i am probly why i got my girl in the first place
my mother thinks i look at anime for the plot. which is true, but there are many reasons why i choose anime; this video being one of them - this song has such an unbelievable amount of the pure gift of composing....wonderfully and perfectly done.
My favorite anime of all time
give a hug
This was one of my first real anime. when I was younger and watched it for the first time, I supported Ozaki fully and was on the humans side. When I got older and re watched the anime, I found myself growing very attached to Muroi. He, in spite of everything he had ever learned, sided with the child who had been forsaken by God. Truly a beautiful saga.
shiki grabs it's viewers in it's own way, with the creepiness and all and I love it! especially with the OST

It has been what atleast 8 years since i've seen the anime. I still wish till this day that I could relive that story. Feel the emotions again like it was the first time. This story hit me as one of the deepest and I will never forget this.
This track sums up what the story was like.
"We gathered here, for the mourning of a heart.
Hoping that this one will have a peaceful depart."
Yet another one gone, taken away with the rest.
***** I made it.
its so sad but so good
this made me tear up... its beautiful :')
Makota Anigawa well made! Good job!
Very, very nice. Would you mind pm'ing me your email?.
I just finished this damn Anime, I've never been divided in my thoughts like this anime have made me.
This anime, legitimately made me think with a horrific imaginations of the implications and scenariosit produced...
Hollywood has yet to produce something like this that swayed my thinking by division, ever since.
Nopes, Hollywood too busy with other dramas... It can only be Anime.
What anime??
preet sameer Shi-Ki or just Shiki. Browse it. It's kinda horror base, so beware. Most people don't like it because it has a tint of creepy-ness.
Hollywood is just a joke. Kind of that powerful guy who just throws his power everywhere but doesn't have focus.
sounds interesting, I really need tostop being lazy and just watch the damn anime already.
(has yet to watch)
Love how this track is present in almost every other episode
One depressing anime. But worth watching
I swear Takanashi is so good at making music touch our hearts *T_T*
This is the greatest anime I've ever seen imo. complete perfection. Such sadness and beauty all at once.
So soothing but so sad, so much feels in this song >.
Watching this anime gave me a ticket to the feels train
Such profound sadness and beauty. A stir of melancholia under which lies a yearning hope. I have no idea what anime this is, but I have the immense desire to watch it!
If your a bibicat stay clear of this one, it's creepy, cruel and sad. No laughs during Shiki. HOWEVER do yourself a favor and watch the last episode, promise, from the moment this music kicks in. You will not often see such a perfect harmony and match between storyline, characters and sound(track). Its as close to perfection as it gets!
Agreed with that last part :P
What's a "bibicat"?
Ellany Bonic I interpreted it as someone who lives by the bible or something like that. Cant really say honestly XD
Oh! Alright. ^^ Thank you.
lol a bibicat is a person who gets scared easy, hence cant look at scary movies. So dont watch the show if you are one.
1:04-2:00 This part sounds like the main summarizing of the eternal relationship between life and death... The singing voices resemble life in its most realistic and touching way, while the organ resembles death. Beautiful.
This sound track is always good to come back to . So tragic and yet so beautiful.😊😭
All I can say at this point is, Nobody wants to die.
I feel empty now. I just watched Shiki because I heard this track first.. Watched all episodes in one sitting...
this anime really made my heart wrench painfully.
I believe it's the same composer as Naruto.
If you can say your heart doesn't change
Then that is strength.
Those are the lines I will always think of when I think about Natsuno and his position on the Shiki. He is one of the strongest characters in the series, closely followed by Ritsuko (nurse).
the title delivered on what it promised...
One of the most legit and realistic show, not just anime, about vampires.

Plus, it gave us this masterpiece.
why am i crying ?

Natsuno and Tohru aw I found myself humming along to the OST's every time they would play in an episode
I watched this anime because I randomly stumbled upon this soundtrack, and I’m glad I did
Something really deep about this is the fact that Sunako never gave up on talking to God, even after more than a century of being a Shiki.
Sunako is not special. She must subsist on blood. It's likely this will all happen again, though she may have more success with Muroi by her side.
***** It was kill or be killed on both sides. Humanity always finds a way to scrape on by, there can't be two top predators.
Ryan Platts
Thats so true, but i still find it really sad.
I agree, I find it sad too. But living in harmony could never happen as either the Shiki or Humans would always try and come out on top.
Ryan Platts True, and i think this applies to the world in general too, doesnt it? Some countries always try to come out on top, then there is a war where soldiers have to kill, even if they dont want to. Great Anime, it really reflects how this world works.
Deep and beautiful. I really loved Shiki and its soundtrack.
still gives me chills. and i finished this anime years ago.
shiki was the perfect anime to make you wonder who the bad people are... loved it absolutely 10,000% and love the OST even more

This anime makes me cry, and yell at it and hate it but it makes me love it at the same time
I can remember forcing myself to stay up all night to watch every single episode refusing to sleep till I had finished....I think I went to sleep about 8 in the morning afterwards.
I did the same ended up watching it in one day
This is just a masterpiece. Indescribable with words. I come always back to this when I feel emotional. It's just so good
This made me depressed for such a long time...but it was still worth it..lol
