Fun fact, the rooster is pacing around you and crowing to show you that this is HIS yard and is basically screaming, "Hey hens, I do not like this person, stay away from em." I love that boi, he looks so healthy and smart. Some are hostile so thank god you didn't get spur kicked. My boi sometimes does it when I turn away to try to establish himself, never works though.

My heart sunk when I heard about the hawk, but I’m glad the baby was ok. My childhood home had a hawk problem so, the rare times we took the bunnies out, with harnesses, as kids, one of us would stand watch for hawks, and both ready to shield our bunnies from a swoop, or fight it. Thankfully we never had to fight a hawk away.

Hi! This is so relatable to the rabbit I just rescued. We saw an English Spot rabbit that was scared and running through the yard. We put some greens, strawberries, and water out so it would sense that we are there to help. We tried to get it to the door with plates of fruits and vegetables, and then eventually it started eating out of my hands. But there was one problem, it always ran back into the yard and would come back for food. We then started to walk with the food to the door, and sometimes it would come in, but when it got it's 2 front paws in, it would run. After 6 hours of trying to rescue it, the rabbit stepped fully inside the house, but when the door closed it ran so fast I couldn't believe it! After it stepping in and running, we were able to get it in the house far enough we closed the door and it didn't run. We couldn't believe we got it, and gave it a few minuets to explore the space before we introduced ourselves. We let the rabbit come to us and within an hour it was crawling in our laps. We set up a temporary home in a bathroom that we proofed, and gave it some fruits, greens, vegetables, and water for the night before we could go to the store. We were still unsure about the gender and health of it because it had been out, so we made a vet appointment with a rabbit specialist and found out it was a male rabbit who was about 4-6 months old and was probably someone's Easter bunny that they let go of because after we put it on the neighborhood blog, it had no response for days. It was most likely put outside because they didn't want it anymore. The rabbit is very healthy and really picked the best yard to get lost in because now it has a great forever home, and even though it got hard catching it, and we lost hope, we saved it's life. Please help any domesticated rabbit you see even if you can't keep it, please find a home for it, because it's not fair for a rabbit to have to go through living in the wild when it doesn't deserve to. I hope my story made you feel hope for rabbits! Now hid name is Oreo and he is my BEST friend and is such an important part of my life. He loves snacking on his greens and fresh herbs, and I'm happy to give him the life he deserves! Thank you so so much for reading!!

Same here, we rescued a beige lop in our yard (Puyallup Washington) in October. Was able to bait with greens and grab him and set up xpen in mom's downstairs apartment (to quarantine from 2 newly bonded buns upstairs). Pulled 3 Big tick's off of him. A visit with the vet found he is a healthy boy and about 4-5 months old. Named him Junior since he looks like my other 2 buns as if they had a baby. He has grown and double in size. Now he has an appointment to get neutered in February!! Thanks to everyone who rescues bunnies ❤️

I've seen that type of trap before. You overloaded it with bait, that metal plate near the back needs to be able to move easily. There was so much bait stuffed in there that the weight of the babies wasn't enough to push down the plate far enough to trigger the door with all that hay jammed up under it.
Also, loved the end of the story about the momma bun chasing off the hawk. I recall reading that studies found that domestic rabbits have different brain structure than their wild cousins. Apparently the part of the brain responsible for fear responses is smaller in domestics, while the part responsible for social behavior is larger.

Having a pet at home is also a kind of animal therapy. In fact, data shows that people who have pets visit the hospital 20% less often per year than those who do not. In Germany, 750 billion yen and in Australia, 300 billion yen in medical costs have been reduced due to the impact of pets. In a study of heart disease patients, there was a significant difference in mortality rates: 3 out of 53 people with pets died after one year, and 11 out of 39 people without pets died after one year. On the other hand, the effects of pets on the elderly and people with disabilities who live in facilities for a long time are highly evaluated, as their conversations and smiles increase and their facial expressions improve when they interact with dogs.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖😻😻😻😻😻😻😻🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇

Hey, Lorelei, I just lost my bunny on Thursday night to an inner ear infection. I slept in her pen with her the night she passed, and just cuddled her all night. She was my best friend, and she will be missed dearly. I’ve been crying for 3 days straight, and still can not believe that she’s gone. Thank you for making these videos, and thank you for always working towards a better life for every little bun. ❤️

My family got our first pet rabbit from a similar situation; someone "released" a Netherlands Dwarf rabbit in the woods down the road from our house. Me, my mom, my dad and my brother went out with the neighbor who spotted her and managed to get her in a cat carrier. Little Blackberry was a member of our family for 9 more years, and while she could be aloof, I think she really did love us as much as we loved her. She gave us bunny kisses all the time!
Rabbits are the best. Thank you for saving these!

This video really inspired me to help rabbits too! Today I was driving home with my mum from the doctors, and we saw a rabbit on the road! I convinced her to park the car and let me try to catch it. I eventually managed to catch the rabbit and we knocked on all the nearby houses to see who it belonged too. We found the owner and the bunny was safe and at home with his owner. ❤️

I can only imagine how difficult it was too catch that many rabbits. We had one dumped in our yard (looks just like the brown one) and she was so difficult too catch finally my daughter who is 12 went out alone and was able to catch her I think cause my daughter is so little she was less intimidating.

Beautiful bunnies, I'm so happy they got rescued. Rescuing animals can be very frustrating and stressful for everyone involved especially for the animals because they don't understand that we are trying to help them but at the same time I don't blame them. It's a nasty world out there. But in the end, it's all worth it and everyone is happy.

Bunnies are way too cute for this. You gotta wonder what is wrong with people who dump bunnies. How can you just leave something so cute on the street??? It's like saying no to 100 dollars, like what? Who would say no?

Rabbits can dig and some people build pins for them outside and they dig under them also they could have escaped in many other ways or like you said someone dumbed it somewhere also rabbits can be bought way under 100 dollars I used to buy some from a breeder and it was only $10 for 1 some people even give them away for free
