But considering just hard core comic book fans familiar with some of the greatest stories over the decades featuring the two, and taking into account scheming, ambition, power set, intellect, arsenal, total match ups (body count) against multiple heroes (of both publishers at that) not just your main nemesis and even other villains for that matter, the crown goes to Dr. Doom. Not even a contest. Doom is the G.O.A.T. (and i'm a DC over Marvel guy mostly). The Joker would be #2 in this regard None of the films over the years have not done him justice unfortunately, and i have always maintained Doom should not be the villain in a premiere Fantastic Four film, he should be the sequel so you can devote a script fleshing out what makes him so special (and not trying the balancing act of telling the FF's origin and his in 2 hours). Hopefully they get it right this time.
Only thing Amanda Waller is "not to read" factor for storylines. If i see Amanda Waller related anything, i pass right away. 1-2 Panels like in Hush storyline, that's enough air time for her.
Is it Commander Star? I guess there is gonna be a squadron supreme version of the Avengers. I know the DC version of the Avengers are actually respected.
You mean it isn’t Marie Javins? Oh, a villain character…. Hmmmm, …. No love for Doctor Dee? Amanda Waller is a great ruthless bureaucrat, but in comparison to the Joker she isn’t remotely in the running. It would be interesting to see Alan Moore or Warren Ellis do a series of stories for DC where the Joker is the villain for the other main DC heroes. The reason why Joker goes off to torment Superman is because the Joker gets tired of constantly loses to Bats. Imagine if Joker turned out to be the real main antagonist for the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Question, or the Green Arrow? Just trying to avoid any of the Batman family. Thanks for bringing up the Joker’s stint at out-doing Lex Luthor (as President of the United States). I wonder if DC will be the first of the big two to start selling off their IP to creative teams and publishers with drive and talent?
Amanda Waller is a joke it’s laughable that she’s a better villain than all the top villains. Absolute power is sooooo boring makes me long for Knight Terrors 😂😂 I still haven’t figured out exactly how the Amazo’s are stealing powers.
So, using the Screen Rant article logic, given her accomplishments of disinformation to turn the public against superheroes, A-man-duh Waller is like J. Jonah Jameson, multiplied by how many members there are in the Justice League, Teen Titans, etc.? That JJJ sure sets a high bar.
This article is the equivalent of that BreadTube video that tried to say Dark Souls II is good because the first Dark Souls wasn't that good and it fixed it. I haven't even played DSII to judge it as a game, but I know that trying to make something that's divisive better by tearing down something fans love is never going to work. Personally, I hate that they took a nuanced character like Amanda Waller and turned her into a generic bad guy.
Amanda Waller is better as an antiheroine or a reluctant assistant to the heroes/villains (in cases like President Lex Luthor) than she ever has been as a villain.
This is such a strange thing to complain about. Hyping an event villain is a very standard, ordinary practice. Randomly hyping Joker during an event in which Waller is the star would have been an incredibly odd decision. The Thinking Critical guy complaining about this is just weird.
Waller, been reading since her debut, back on Legends, in the 80's. She was a good character. She was good in the old DC animation. But top of the food chain? No. There are villains that outclass her, by far. Joker Lex Luthor Circe Bane Ra's al Ghul Zoom Black Adam Darkseid Mr. Freeze Just to name a few. But there are many characters that are bigger threats, and more engaging to read, than Waller. I'm sure citizens and heroes of the DCU would be more fearful of Joker gunning for them, than Waller, even with all her government contacts. Joker and Luthor are main event, while Waller is upoer mid card, at best.
Why don't they just come out with a character named Agenda as the most attractive, skilled, intelligent, and powerful being, both hero and villain. It's all over boils down to the last five years or so.
But Wes Weston you don't understand-o, Amanda Waller has one ace up her sleeves that makes her the most villianous villian to ever villian. She can...say the N-word!!!
I like Amanda Waller, but she is nowhere near the level Joker is. Not many are. And pushing her and trying to make her this global-threat villain is nonsensical. She's not even a villain for me. She is a shadowy government agent. She works best in that capacity. By the way, weren't heroes' credibility at stake in the 80s' with the Legends crossover (Waller's first appearance)?
The Joker is the least interesting villain in my book. So tired and overused, I walk right past any cover with him on it. If you can't create an interesting story around a different character you shouldn't be writing Batman comics.

None of the films over the years have not done him justice unfortunately, and i have always maintained Doom should not be the villain in a premiere Fantastic Four film, he should be the sequel so you can devote a script fleshing out what makes him so special (and not trying the balancing act of telling the FF's origin and his in 2 hours). Hopefully they get it right this time.
I knew you were going to say "Amanda Waller" before you said it!
Norman Osborn became a cabinet member and made his own evil avengers. Waller is a b-rate of a b-rate
We all know Condiment King is DC's biggest villain. The guy is a menace.
Hmmm, who’d ever thought that Nell Carter could rise to the top of the Dead Comics greatest villain list.
Everyone kneels before zod.
Amanda Waller is a joke it’s laughable that she’s a better villain than all the top villains. Absolute power is sooooo boring makes me long for Knight Terrors 😂😂 I still haven’t figured out exactly how the Amazo’s are stealing powers.
I though Darkseid was back? So basically, she's the Steve Jobs of the DC Universe.
Amanda Waller is a good villain, but DC forgets why Christopher Nolan made Joker scary again “…some men, just wanna watch the world BURN…”
Joker is still on my top tier list than Waller
Amanda Waller: "We are from the government. And we are here to help you."
Lex Luthor cured someone's cancer and then gave it back to them. Just to prove the point.
Per ora Absolute Power è il peggior lavoro di sempre di Waid ... Veramente irriconoscibile ! Totalmente fuori ruolo !
I thought Jim Lee was DC's top Villain? He's still the evil mastermind behind the writers and editors, right? 😁🤣
True 😅😁😁😁
This article is the equivalent of that BreadTube video that tried to say Dark Souls II is good because the first Dark Souls wasn't that good and it fixed it. I haven't even played DSII to judge it as a game, but I know that trying to make something that's divisive better by tearing down something fans love is never going to work.
Personally, I hate that they took a nuanced character like Amanda Waller and turned her into a generic bad guy.
Did people forget about the “ Legends” series when Darkseid had his pawns turn against the heroes?? Amanda Waller isn’t even original
Amanda Waller could take over a Shoney’s if she was hungry enough.
Amanda Waller is better as an antiheroine or a reluctant assistant to the heroes/villains (in cases like President Lex Luthor) than she ever has been as a villain.
Sounds like she's copying darkseid sending in G Gordon Godfrey during Legends
Gee, I thought Jim Lee was DC Comics' greatest villain😅
If DC couldn’t be anymore of a Lolcow , they have reached the next level.
The Joker …. Who cares what those Screen Rant shills say
Joker
Lex Luthor
Circe
Bane
Ra's al Ghul
Zoom
Black Adam
Darkseid
Mr. Freeze
Just to name a few.
Joker the Emporer
Last laugh
Waller couldn't take over a Wawa in Walla Walla Washington
Did the world not turn against superheroes when Wonder Woman killed Maxvell Lord
Why don't they just come out with a character named Agenda as the most attractive, skilled, intelligent, and powerful being, both hero and villain. It's all over boils down to the last five years or so.
Waller is a govt employee
I think it's Paul
But Wes Weston you don't understand-o, Amanda Waller has one ace up her sleeves that makes her the most villianous villian to ever villian. She can...say the N-word!!!
I like Amanda Waller, but she is nowhere near the level Joker is. Not many are. And pushing her and trying to make her this global-threat villain is nonsensical. She's not even a villain for me. She is a shadowy government agent. She works best in that capacity.
By the way, weren't heroes' credibility at stake in the 80s' with the Legends crossover (Waller's first appearance)?
Condiment king!
The Joker is the least interesting villain in my book. So tired and overused, I walk right past any cover with him on it. If you can't create an interesting story around a different character you shouldn't be writing Batman comics.
