welcome back Ninja, we missed you :)
LOL Thank you Ricky! Last week grabbed me by the neck and didn't let me go! 😀😀😀 Glad to see you too!
I'm on this new DASH diet, and have to stick to lean meats. I was so sad when I realized I can't smoke beef briskets anymore. You have revitalize my love for smoked meats!
good on you. bison brisket. never thought about it
It got me by surprise too! It was amazing! Never tried a more flavorful brisket before! 😀👊
Buckle up buttercup!! I’ve never really thought about a bison brisket before. But I promise it won’t be the last time I think about one. What a great alternative to the traditional beef brisket. You never disappoint. Thanks for taking us along for the ride
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I feel like you made this *just* for me! Thank you for cooking both briskets side-by-side! And I am so happy that Mrs. Ninja loved it.
Now I am brave enough to try it! 💜💜💜
Thank you so much Nancy! It was an awesome experiment and the results change the way I look at bison from now on! Ms Ninja says hi!
Is brisket time nice to see you back my friend keep the amazing work brother 👊
Thank you so much! That was the best brisket ever man! AMAZING FLAVORS! 😀
Looks awesome brother, and the editing of the video is top notch! Cheers!
Both look delicious. Great video, thanks
Looks great Ninja! I’ll have to give that a try!
It didn't last 3 hours! I really need to get a bigger one! 😀😀😀
Love the videos!!!! 💯💯💯
How funny Miss Ninja said That. I was given a small chunk of bison and decided to slice it thin and marinate it for jerky. Probably the best, whole muscle jerky I've made.
that looks great!
The opening music made me think Mrs. Ninja was waging battle with orcs off camera lol
Looks sooooo good!
Clint you’ll love bison man! It is healthy and taste amazing! I’ll be making a live with @The Honest Bison guys to answer all the questions you guys have! Friday 8PM EST!
Time for me to order a bison brisket!
Brother you wont regret it! 😀
Mrs Ninja nearly jumped out her skin 9:35 lol looked amazing tho
LOL She is the best! 😀😀
I think the Bison Brisket would do really well with a 2 to 3 hour smoke followed by a 24 hour 155 degree sous vide bath.
That can be a great recipe! It is small so it can fit really well in the sous vide! 😀
My favourite video of the year! We have 2 new bison in the English wild, for the 1st time in thousands of years, so I have bison on my mind. Great idea to use bison fat!! Very Hungry 😋😋👍🏾👍🏾 🦬
Oh man! I super recommend it! It is healthy, flavorful and this brisket was out of this world! 😀😀
Starving!!! Unfortunately I have leftover ribs and chicken to eat up first before burning up a bison brisket 😂
LOL That sounds awesome too! Gotta make some ribs too. those are my fam fav! 😀😀
What I really have been looking for is some picana, we are a little north of y’all on the space coast but can’t seem to find it anywhere locally. Our Bravo always has great deals on pork belly that I have been dabbling with but not yet perfected but I can never seem to find the Queen!!
Bison and buffalo have such a unique flavor. Delicious, I bet this brisket was awesome.
It was incredible. I've never tried buffalo as it is almost impossible to buy here int he US but this bison is AMAZING! 😀
Haha poor Mrs Ninja. Got scared at the end
LOL she loved it! Bison brisket is her and mine favorite now! 😀😀
That looks delicious great work brother 💪
I was so worry about the leanness but man that brisket was the talking point of the family for a week! 😀😀
Great comparison, Love your videos 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you so much Carlton!! 😀😀😀 That was extremely good!
I’ve said it to you before man, but you gotta try BEEFALO, an actual hybrid cattle (5/8 beef breed, 3/8 bison breed), not mixed together. You can find it all over the country, and it’s INCREDIBLE!! Gotta do a video, you won’t regret it.
Gotta try it
I’ve never seen a bison brisket, pretty cool to see. You should of just melted down that bison tallow and poured it over
I thought about it but I think semi-solid like this will stay on the meat for longer...Something to try next!
@@SaltyTales I would of drowned that thing in fat due to how lean it is lol keep up the good content my ninja
First time I see a Bison brisket on RUclips, and a very interesting experiment. Really nice detailed video too, and proper comparison with everything done the same, except for adding fat to bison, as beef already has it. Excellent video, and I'm hungry indeed...
Man that just became my favorite brisket! It was tender and an absolutely amazing and different flavor! It was incredible! 😀😀
@@SaltyTales I never even considered brisket from another animal, so just very interesting. Thanks for sharing the option!
Great stuff
Thank you so much bud! 😀😀
Great Buffalo brisket video. We raise cattle ourselves, and I can’t help but think a hybrid cross of Buffalo cow and a Wagyu bull would produce the best of both worlds. Keep up the great work Ninja.
Oh man! That will produce meat from another planet! 🤣🤣🤣 awesome!
Great Video! I think The pricing mentioned is an important part. With the 4th of July coming up, maybe a good video would be the best cheap meats to cook up the holiday, or tips for finding good deals
That's a great idea! Prices are a big deal right now as it all look to be so expensive right now... Let me see if I can put something together before the 4th. Thank for the idea! 😀
Awesome job
Thanks brother!! That was ULTRA good! 😀😀
Was just thinking you not posted for nearly 2 weeks I was getting withdrawal symptoms lol
LOL Last week got me messed up! Sorry about that! 😀😀
@@SaltyTales I hope everything and everyone is ok much love brother
Great idea for a video, that intro is FIRE!
LOL Thank you so much! 😀😀
You two are awesome 😎
Thank you so much! 😀😀
Love me a new ST video........ BTW..... Bison is NOT Buffalo... just a FYI. (nice salt shaker save too). You must have the best left over fridge in the world............
LOL Thanks! You are very kind! 😀😀😀
Looking forward for the Bison Filet Mignon.
Ohhh you know that's coming! 😀😀😀
Freaking amazing! Nice 👍! I'm going to order a bison brisket and cook it. Great video!
You wont regret it brother! That think was incredible! The favorite of the family for sure! 😀😀👊
My comment failed to post. Must have been wireguard. Could be that Ninja, lots of people using vpns now. Great video!!
idea why it didn't port. RUclips has a lot of words banned... maybe that's what happened. In any case, glad you were able to post now and thank you! 😀
Good job
Thanks Freddie! That was so TASTY! OMG! 😀😀
Maybe try some of the bison tallow on a beef brisket next time? I'm curious what kind of flavor profile the bison tallow would bring to the beef. Thanks for the video!
That’s interesting! I’ll try it and let you know! 😀😀
Oh yeah, this Bison brisket I really like to taste it 👍👍👍
Awesome video Ninja! Always wanted to try Bison. Also, where did you get your resting cooler?
Bison is awesome! We are having a live to answer all the questions about it this coming Friday at 8PM EST! That cooler I got it on Amazon! It’s great and light weight. Here is the link amzn.to/3avJ16u
@@SaltyTales thanks Ninja! Look forward to the live stream!
Deeeeliiiousss!!!
Man! That was the best brisket I've ever had! DEEEELICIOUS!
I love the video what I must say I was thought that the Bison brisket would have been a much bigger in my mind set
I thought the same when I got it... I'm going to ask the guys at the honest bison to see if they have bigger prices or all of the bison briskets are that size... Interesting! 😀😀
Hi James, this is a common assumption as most people have the image of a 2000 lb bison bull that is probably 5+ years old. Our bison are 2 years old and just under 1000 lbs each for live weight. The carcass yields about 6 lbs of brisket, then we cut it into 3 lbs portion cuts.
Damn I need to try this🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh man! I can tell you that it'll become your favorite brisket for sure! The flavors were strong but not too much and the tenderness was out of this world! Amazing taste!
They have great chemistry and seem like a lot of fun. I'm still on the fence with bison. It's sooo lean 😂
I would have assumed the bison brisket would have been bigger. It is something I'd love to try sometime.
I was under the same impression, it is something I will ask the honest bison guys next time I talk to them! 😀 Thanks

@@Thehonestbison-grassfed Thank you for your response. It makes sense. I hope to someday try it, because I love bison. Living in the Midwest, I do have greater access to it.
Ninja, what do you attribute the strong jerky flavor to? The rub was the same. The smoke was side by side. Of course, the meat was from bison versus beef, but could it have been the tallow? I would like to buy some bison tallow and try it. Thank you for this video as my wife and I put it on our living room screen and enjoyed it. The screaming you guys do was AMAZING to watch! ❤️
I loves me some Bison!
Bison is great! Many people are with the outdated idea of bison being next to extinction but nothing farthest from the truth. There are entire farms dedicated to grow bison in the US. The meat is healthier and the prices not too bad compared to the prices in my nearest supermarkets… It taste amazing and man it sure is delicious! 😀
Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeishois brother!!
WOW!
Really interesting video! Is it possible to do an elk brisket?
Yes it is! I have one in the freezer right now but I have another thing in mind... Guess what I'm doing with it! 😀😀
@@SaltyTales Can't wait to see!
😂😂😂 when you scared Ms. Njnja 😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve always wondered about smoking bison or elk…awesome!
Now, let me ask you what you think…you mention that the bison is not as tender. Do you think that a combo smoke/sous vide for the bison brisket maybe make it more tender?
The bison was not as tender as a reg brisket can get but it wasn't tough at all, I see many asking about mixing it with sous vide and I think it makes a lot of sense. If I get my hands on another bison brisket I'll experiment with sous vide! 😀
@@SaltyTales I’ll be looking out for that video!
The place I get bison from sells bison hump roast. I'd like to try is someday but it's really expensive.
If momma says it's good then it's good.
LOL She knows whats good! 😀😀
Sounds like a good choice for just the two of us. A full beef brisket is just to much.
It was GREAT! Intense flavors and tender as hell! Man! Bison brisket is my favorite from now on! 😀😀
Next time brine the bison. I do bison ribs I usually rub it down with oil and let sit for 2 hours before I add rub
Mmm that’s a great tip brother! Next time I’ll do it that way! 😀😀
@@SaltyTales or try injection.
This is literal torture to watch as soon as you wake up and are already hungry to begin with!!
but I'll have to try one, only bison I've had was a ribeye, & yes the flavor is pretty intense, got another 36oz bone in one in the deep freezer too that I kinda wanna eat 😂
Hey Ninja is that the whole brisket, as. Large as bison is I would have thought the brisket would look like something from the Flintstones 😁
Thanks for the great question Earnest. A whole bison brisket for our 100% grassfed bison is about 6 lbs. This cut is 3 lbs, so we make about two per carcass.
There you have the pros answer! Thank you so much @THE HONEST BISON for your help! 😀🤣
What was the size of the bison brisket? Im working with 3.5 lbs so just trying to do some comparison before the big day.
What temp did you set the smoker at?
Am I the only one who noticed the big bug on the top of the bison brisket at the 2:00 mark…other then that looks great
I need a smoker! Still don't know which one to get. Pellet or the masterbuilt charcoal/wood electric one. Mrs Ninja guilted me into commenting. Lol. But seriously I need to figure this out.
If you are looking for simplicity, pellet is the way yo go, the masterbuild will make you work more but it produce amazing flavors! both are awesome in their own way! 😀
@@SaltyTales I thought the masterbuilt was set and forget. Like a pellet grill. Which, in your honest opinion, give the best results/flavor?
It is a set it and forget it… if you are not making ling cooks! I found that on cooks over 8 hours you will need to refill the charcoal. Besides that is a great grill!
@@SaltyTales what about the flavor? Some people say pellets are weak. But I know you need to keep them dry which helps.
What temperature did you cook the bison brisket to?
250 from beginning to end! 😀 sorry I guess I forgot to mention it in the video!
Did I miss what temp they were cooked at?
Never seen a bison brisket. I’ll take a slice. Maybe inject with wagyu fat.
mmm that will definetaly help but not too much, you don't want to change those bison flavors too much! It is the best part of this meat and the one thing that makes it unique and delicious!
@@SaltyTales what if they make like a wagyu bison?
Leave a freaking comment guys!!
LMAO
Watch my chuck roast video brotha ninja
Why is the beef brisket bigger than bison : this seesm stupid since the bison is generally at least 1.25 time bigger and no one is talking about it, you get a buffalo brisket is about 5lbs while the beef is 16 ish
hey georgie bison or buffalo MEAT
Georgie passed away like a month ago. Sorry
As always, I am SO HUNGRY now! I haven't found any bison here yet, but I'm looking and definitely will get a brisket and a pichana when I do.
NINJA APPROVED !!!
I've been after bison picanha too and it is very difficult to find... BUT thank brisket man! OMG! It was amazing!
@@SaltyTales I found mine! Brisket is coming and both pichanas off the next one that goes in! OH YEAH!!! Only 45 minutes away too!
So everyone knows, I can't order from the Honest Bison, I'm in Canada or I would have!
