  • There’s been a huge debate and uproar lately about benzoyl peroxide (acne cream). It is well-known in the CPK community to fade vinyl if left on too long. Hydrogen Peroxide Cream (hair developer) is known to work on yellowed vinyl. I was wrongly told “BP does NOT fade vinyl! It is only temporary and the color will come back. Peroxide will not work on marker.“ I was actually blocked by a so-called expert in one of the American Girl groups because she could not come to terms that the BP in fact did fade the vinyl on some of my dolls. They were permanently ruined because the acne cream was left on too long. In fact, I use BP to lighten shoes. Thus, my experiment. I will also be experimenting on fabric and on pox with both HP and BP. I have already experimented on shoes and will be posting videos on all of my experiments.
Please note that the key ingredient is direct sunlight. I have tried and even posted a video using BP in a window and it took five days for the marker to fade. And I took the cream off after I believe the second or third day and it continued to fade the marker with the cream off. Had I put the doll in direct sunlight, it would’ve only taken hours, as you can see in this video. #ag #americangirl #doll #cpkdiana #cabbagepatchkids #cabbagepatch #cpk #cabbagepatchdolls #cabbagepatchkidscollector #inkremoval #markerremoval #acnecream #zitcream #benzoylperoxide #hydrogenperoxide #hairdeveloper #experiment
