From what I can find out, the technique of smocking is often confused with the garment called a smock.

This beautiful flower, stunning handwork and made me finally perhaps like denim to put on a wee tot. I have always felt that denim fabric is more for adults and hard working farming, mechanic, labourer types of work and too harsh for wee ones skins. This stunning piece of work i can see as a wee pinafore or wee dress for a toddler going around and she would still look like a wee girl and not a cut down version of an adult.
