- Steven Del Re, Rock Hudson’s personal friend in San Francisco, was another patient of Rock’s French doctor Dominique Dormont. And he received the same experimental drug in Paris. He should be an important figure but by the time of trial he has been dead for a long time. When Marc Christian was asked to fly to Paris to be tested, Del Re met Christian at the airport, helped him find a place to stay and escorted him to Hôpital Percy where he was examined by Dr. Dormont. While awaiting test results, they went to Cannes, had to sleep together in a one bedroom motel. They went to the beach during the day and at night to a gay bar called Zanzi.
Rock’s biographer Sara Davidson depicted their experience in France“All the Europeans were scared of Americans,” Del Re says. “When they heard the accent, they’d say, ‘You all have AIDS,’ and walk away.” Del Re was surprised that Christian “did not seem all that freaked out. I would have been panicked. He seemed more concerned about Rock than himself.” Del Re had known Rock for years and said, “Rock was one of the nicest, most generous people I ever knew, but I was angry he hadn't told Marc he had AIDS. Marc did not seem angry, which I found strange. My anger was stronger than Marc's.”

Per the testimony of Marc Christian, Del Re picked him up at the airport. He then rolled up his sleeves, and showed him several pussing Kaposi’s-sarcoma lesions on his arms. And Marc Christian was impressed that Del Re looked so well and did not seem sick. But only a year later, Steven Del Re died of the fatal disease.
So I think Marc Christian had the reasonable reason for fear of contracting the disease.
BTW:in the book “Rock Hudson: His Story ”, Steven Del Re’s real name was concealed but in the book “Between Rock and a Hard Place: In Defense of Rock Hudson” written by Robert Park Mills, the lawyer for the estate, his real name was revealed.

@ihategoogle The President hand selects secretaries for cabinets like the DHH, so he is actually instrumental in directing policy for those departments. The President also has a say in how funds are allocated to those cabinet departments when it comes to his role in the formulating budget. So while the President has wider unilateral power when it comes to foreign policy, that is certainly not his only role in running the country. While promiscuity may have played a role in the spread of AIDS, the epidemiology behind that outbreak became a scientific/medical issue, and that is where Reagan and local governments (as discussed in this video) failed to take action despite all the red-flags.
Massive numbers of gay men have contracted hiv long since we have all known how it's contracted. That's a failure of personal responsibilty. By the way, now taxpayers foot the bill for these hiv people to live in housing.
