- Ryan O’Neal’s daughter Tatum shared a heartbreaking tribute to him after his passing. The two were estranged for decades but had patched up their rocky relationship in his later years. Ryan was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed away at 82, reportedly in the same hospital and same room as the love of his life Farrah Fawcett, who died in 2009. No cause of death was given, but Ryan had been in failing health over the last few years.

I won't speak ill of the dead, but I'm glad that Tatum was able to be at peace with their relationship before he passed.

Tatum O’neal I read her book A Paper Life. A lovely girl and a lovely loving person. Despite her dysfunctional chaotic childhood, Tatum was still capable of so much love. I want her to know she has broken the family curse through her own children with love that she had in her, for her narcissistic father, her brother Griffin who she constantly tried to protect and the love she had for her husband John McEnroe and their children. Tatum received no love from anyone until her children arrived. Tatum tried so hard to be a good wife and mother and she definitely was but she couldn’t do it on her own, it takes two. For a child to be the youngest academy award winner, her life should have been celebrated by proud parents. Tatum loved them despite their flaws. Most children would have run for the hills. Tatum never gave up on her parents she had so much love for them even though they let her down time and time again. Farrah Fawcett never stood a chance with Ryan. She probably would be still alive if she remained with Lee Majors. Ryan O’neal was not capable of loving any women. He captured beautiful women and ruin them even his own beautiful daughter Tatum. Ryan took no responsibility for his behaviour at all, he blamed his bad life on his own kids who he should have protected. I wish Tatum and her brother Griffin all the best. As for Redman, poor guy he had no chance. Redman’s life speaks for itself. Ryan failed all his children miserably. My heart goes out to them.
I literally just found the show they did together today and started watching only find out this news. What a coincidence.

Tatum did not mentioned when she wont the Oscar over her father's acting in the film paper moon he got so mad at her and also at the academy award for recognizing her acting carrier over him.......
I'm sorry, I dont believe a man that physically abused his children & his wives is in heaven. Not unless he did a lot of begging for forgiveness & a lifetime of good deeds to make up for all the torment & hell he put his own children through during their childhood.

Sad news Ryan was a great amazing actor and icon of so many classic movies
His love for Farrah was messed up, he hit on a person at her casket, little did he know it was his daughter. Tatum must have dyed her hair,how could he not know it was her. If I was them, I would have never told that story to the world. I hope he made peace with Griffin as well.

He was great in What's up Doc? Streisand was too. It was a great comedy in early 70s. I saw it at a drive-in. I'm glad he & Tatum were on good terms when he died.
Ryan O'Neal and Barbra Streisand also starred in another movie in 1979 called The Main Event.
Personally I don't think much of Ryan. He was abusive and violent in his past. He was a jerk. He got his kids hooked on drugs. RIP anyway

If you really think about it doesn't show Farrah as having good character by being with a man that has physically abused his children during their childhood, had his own 10 year old daughter sleeping in his bed with him, even when women would come over. Makes you wonder how he treated Farrah & why would she be with someone so horrible to his own children. He was known for having severe anger issues his entire life.
And she also took up with him while married to Lee. Their only son is in a psych hospital facing serious criminal charges.
Redman is really on his own now , I bet the other son never reconciliate with his father to much bad blood. , What a mess ...
Three of Ryan's children weren't invited to his funeral, including Tatum.
Her stepmum and ex-boyfriend died on the same day. RIP.

Redmond had a drug problem and is still in prison for a crime he committed.

She takes no accountability for anything she’s done… Her mom was an addict and Ryan actually came in and took the two kids in so they wouldn’t have to go into foster care… After that her life was enviable, in every sense of the word. If it wasn’t for her father, she never would’ve gotten cast in paper Moon… After that she turned into a little diva, who accompanied her dad to parties, and would do pretty much whatever she wanted to… Ryan ⚾️ tried to put her in the school a boarding school not one of those abusive ones you hear about but a swanky one where you could ride horses and get a great education study the performing arts, etc. but she was such a brat. She just wanted to come back to Hollywood… So she did she decided on her own to do bad news Bears. No one pushed her into that either Ryan tried to be a father and a mother to her and Griffin, and they were two of the most difficult kids… Entitled… Especially Tatum after winning an Oscar at age 9 she pretty much thought she rule the world… She dated MichaelMicheal Jackson, spent nights at studio 54 accompanied her father to every premier an event, she was impossible to control, and she loved her father, but in almost an unhealthy way… She never complained about him until… Farrah Fawcett enter enter the picture. She was so jealous of Farrah and didn’t understand that Ryan was her father not her boyfriend, but yet it was a constant competition between Tatum and Farrah even though Farrah did everything she could to try to get along with Tatum… She was a good person. Farrah was, but Tatum would say things like “ so has he beaten you up or cheated on you yet… Because, believe me, he will“ instead of being happy for her dad she did everything to sabotage. And she’s made a living off of trashing her father. Every chance she gets when every few years or so, she writes a book talking about how horrible he is… Meanwhile, his son, Patrick from Lee Taylor, young counteracts, everything that Tatum says talking about what a great father he was to him, in the end, implying that a lot of the things that Tatum said were lies to sell books… After she released her book “a paper life“ she was caught in a lie right off the bat. She said as a fact that Michael Jackson was so brokenhearted about her that he wrote the song “she’s out of my life“ for her… Which was a load of 💩 because guess what? Michael didn’t even write that song! A producer friend of his wrote that song after his wife left him and broke his heart, and he thought it would be a good song for Michael to sing and Boy it was. But she makes everything about her, especially after her*dimmed… I don’t like to Trash Talk Tatum, but if you stand back and look at the facts, she plays the victim in every possible situation, and it’s just not true.
