Is Maverick something that I can begin using while I am getting certified. I am 60 years young and fully embracing the AI piece as a helpful tool. I intend on specializing ASAP and getting into an auditing role. I know it's gonna take a good 2 or 3 years most likely, but perhaps AI will help expedite my skill and knowledge levels. In other words using AI to enhance my skill sets.
Great podcast, Victoria! Thank for bringing these speakers together to talk about Maverick - it sounds like they are developing this AI very thoughtfully. Stacy sounds like a great SME for the Medical Coding accuracy aspect!
Curious to find out the opinion of the guest speakers regarding the use of blockchain security in healthcare, I personally see it as an integral future component of patient confidentiality and security, so with that saying, would this also be another skillset to bring to the table as a medical coder/ biller? Great content and guest speakers as always! Thank you for staying on top of where the industry is heading!
Please look into it mam Thank you so much mam for this broadcast actually I am wiling to start my career in medical coding but after seeing this I am in litl bit at the state of confusion..should I start or not.... but as you said that AI is not for removing the coders job it is to hepl them.... but I will be the begner in the coding I would take some time to lern the hight knowledge regarding this.... so it is pushing me to rethink about my wish to start medical coding... Victoria mam please guide me through this....
Thanks for sharing your concerns. It's understandable to worry about AI in the medical coding field. However, it's important to remember that AI, like Maverick AI, is designed to assist and enhance the work of medical coders, not replace them. The technology helps automate certain aspects of the coding process, reducing the burden of repetitive tasks and allowing coders to focus on more complex cases that require human expertise and judgement. Moreover, the introduction of AI in the field opens up new opportunities for coders to upskill and work in areas like AI supervision, quality control, and more. So, rather than viewing AI as a threat, we can see it as a tool that can make our work more efficient and rewarding. Hope this helps alleviate some of your concerns! 😊
I went through losing my job in medical transcription. MTs were no longer earning a livable wage when that happened. So hell no, I'm not excited for the industry.
Yes, exactly - same with me. This is making me very concerned. All we heard was that it would have minimal effect on us and it would be many years away beyond my lifetime. And in less than five years, our jobs were being replaced by digital dictation. I am definitely concerned about job security and ultimately patient safety.
It'll be important to stay adaptable and open to learning, and sharpen your critical thinking to verify AI outputs. Especially when it comes to understanding clinical knowledge. Your communication skills will be more important than ever, as you might find yourself explaining coding decisions more often. The deep knowledge of medical coding remains crucial. Keep up with continuing education, especially around data privacy and confidentiality.
Please Answer this Very important Question, does AI integration will eventually replace us as medical coders, I haven't started yet, I am thinking about this career but AI technology had ruined this thought....

Thank you, Victoria! I do agree AI is not going to replace medical coders. My concern is, will it reduce the medical coder jobs and coder dependency? Do E&M coding will get affected by AI?
@@kristyhunter1981 maybe she could make a video explaining how it won’t because in the video the other lady said it would create more jobs in the US versus going overseas which happened to my aunt, I think we need more information on how it won’t because they didn’t address us and how we would interpret this entire video.
I see my Hospital implementing we have epic finally. Now this will soon come

Hi Victoria. What type of computer is very good for self studying medical coding?
Hello. What are some new medical coding skills that medical coders can learn to work with AI?

Its also impacted on jobs bcz employees work its too easy than opportunity will law
Can you do a video strictly on CANPC?
I don’t see it working full IR cases
Will this replace us eventually as coders??
I havent even started yet😢
Same Question arisen in my mind
@@maxpowersmagso am i😢😢
No it will not replace us by any means but it will help I feel.
