Pulls very quickly to 230 kph or so, then as soon as it gets to 236 it starts cutting power. I guess with it's power 255 +/- is possible without the speed limiter....maybe the testers found it stable up to 240 kph, but clinging hold of the handlebars at speeds approaching 260 could induce weave ?
I guess they just designed it with a shorter gearing to make it more fun on country roads. It has an extra rev limiter in 6th gear, because it has a pretty short gearing and would always run into rev limiter at topspeed.
in 6th gear before the usual rev limiter sets in, there's another rev limiter that hits earlier to avoid that it's always running into rev limiter at topspeed.
The GSXS1000 has a short gear ratio and the revs in 6th gear are limited, and the GSXS1000 is a naked bike compared to the aerodynamic optimized full fairing of the XX.

Suzuki just wanted this naked bike to be limited but the acceleration is like a sport bike.
