I'll be there Tuesday afternoon, last yr 2923 I was two weeks late got there end of season, so I reminded myself that I wanted to be there for the run when the early fall rains come in ...n probably from the storm coming out of the Gulf but that be another week before that gets here..sep 14-17,2024.
@@mtbnny2956 today swung into the fly fisherman , they were hitting fish out of 8 ppl off the bank 2 hookups 5 minutes after we got there.resting right now.national grid doing great things on the Salmon river !
@@mtbnny2956 thanks for the videos. I was a regular years ago with spinning equipment. Just got the bright idea to try fly rods/reels. I’m questioning the bright idea thing😂but learned a lot watching you channel. Thanks from ont mnt biker to another👍🏻
Dude, if you’re gonna use weight, don’t waste your money on a skagit or scandi line, just buy a cheap floating. If ur gonna spey fish, you need both as water levels change daily 😊
Don't be afraid to ask questions, some people will be off-putting, but the majority will be glad to help you. Spend your money at local sports shops, they are also a great information source. Also move around often unless you find that honey hole. Your setup should be between 9' and 11' with a 3-30-300-3000 or 4... series reel, different manufacturers use different numbers but they are the same denomination regardless, read the regulations and follow them because there are green pants everywhere, most times they are right next to you and you wouldn't even know it, good luck and Fish On!
@@DinDooItdo you have a recommendation for spinning rod and reel? Im thinking about heading out there with my dad to visit his college roommate soon, but idt we can learn to fly fish or centerpin in time and we only have light trout tackle. I have good luck float fishing with a spin rod dead drifting wooly buggers and trout magnets, but other than that salmon is a new experience in NY for me.
@@LightSpinAngler The local shops have some really good affordable setups, most under $100, the 'Riversider' is a great rig and most shops up there have them, otherwise pretty much any pole they have will work. There are some shops right off rt 81, Fat Nancy's, All Season Sports, Pineville sports shop a little farther down rt 13, plenty of options to choose from, good luck, be safe and Fish On!

First timer heading up in october with first time fishing with fly rod as well any pointers
Stay on bottom if your drifting. You'll break off a lot but it's worth it. Purple pink black all good color flies.
