I remember seeing Frank Hawley in those old "...And They Walked Away" Diamond P Sports videos back in the day. He had a fire or two in that funny car and I remember Steve Evans interviewing him afterwards.

Although I have never made it big time, and will never have the money to do it myself, I still enjoy racing my dirt modified, asphalt street stock, and the BMW M3 I race in the ChampCar Endurance Series. Ultimately, you're my childhood hero dude. Can't wait for what the premier is all about!

I think he was running in a Modified or Super Stock eliminator class. (Wasn’t going to embarrass himself running up against the big boys.. Sox and Martin, Mopar Missle and all the other Top Guns...Grumpy, Dyno...etc....lol)

Very cool that you went to school of drag racing. That last shot of you driving the Alcohol car shows that car hooking up really good and going down the track pretty fast. Would have like to have known how fast your drag runs were. I have driven a Richard Petty Driving experience car and that was very cool for me to do that. I took his class at woodburn drag strip in Oregon and liked it so much went to Vegas and took it again. It's an awesome experience and Frank is a great human

Wow, so cool. Im happy just to have found this channel but for this to be the first video I found is ironically cool for me personally. I've been a sprint nut for along time. I helped on a local team and have done safety-fire,push truck stuff etc. A bucket list item for me was to someday turn some hot laps in a sprint car. In April that possibility came to a end, my neck broke all on its own, no trauma!!! I didn't even have neck problems, I went to er for low back pain???? So the realization that I am gonna have to sell my Harley and no chance of hot laps(bummer). In the meantime I started following Street/drag racing and have consumed myself with it to block out the world and its ill's. Now Im fantasizing about a butler built, hanz, and 1000c.i.BBC W/ twin 'f1' ProChargered door slammer attempt at the sound barrier. Lol. So great job on the being relatable thing- you nailed it!! Im looking forward to following this channel grow. Blessings
Trying to keep all that power straight a lot harder than you think😏. One thing about drag racing than any other Motorsports is you have to be perfect and can’t have any slight mistakes. As the race is seconds long so gotta be perfect
