Dear sir I really understand your experience as a young man. I was introduced to Fiat as a young bloke through my best friend who's dad was in the N.S.W. Fiat club. I bought his old 131 which was a gem and out was glorious. Going up a hill revving 2750rpm was like hearing an orchestra. I used to drive with my head out to of the window. I am very happy to see the results of your passion for these Italian masterpieces. Good luck with your further endeavours.
Great car Paul. Fantastic job. Slight correction thou, there was no Fiat 131 Abarth in a rally in 1977 in Australia, unless you count the Abarth built diesel 131 in th London to Sydney event. It was not until 1982 that we saw such a machine here, and that was in Greg Carrs hands, perhaps this is the car you were thinking about. Bill Dunn.
if it helps any , the 132 super engine and box fits straight into a ford capri ,,, thats what i did with a crashed one i bought in the eighties ,, great video , amazing car.
i have a third gen 1983 fiat 131 Mirafiori CL 1600 SOHC absolute reliablility monster, weirdly. i have been thinking about swapping a 2000 T/C out of an abandoned supermirafiori.
