I like J42 for what it is for its tier. Best in tier detection, UK smokes, UK hydro. It's pretty good at it's role as a cap contester and defensive DD, which is typical for UK. Don't sleep on the fact that it's the only 120mm AP shell that has 12mm pen arm threshold - you will full pen broadside DD's. 2500 shell alpha dmg can't be overlooked either, and you can use the added benefit of super heavy AP to buff that to 2688. 5k dmg salvos against DD's are possible in this boat. I like my Haida too but there are occasions where I wish I had the UK smokes, especially scenarios where I'm relied upon for spotting.
As a dd player that has dds like Smaland, Ragnar, z 42, vampire ii, Druid, Groningen , Marceau Gdansk, Dring... etc i mean almost all broken t10 gun boat dds i wish i had Haida! she is the t7 vapire ii and i n my opinion the best t7 dd!
Good to see you are back posting a bit more. Hope all is well with you personally. Jupiter is basically a gimmicked up Jarvis. And in the end the Jarvis is a better ship. Better balance and 8 torps with only seven km range but they seem to be a lot more useful.
That's how J42 was originally set up (to Jervis as Cossack to Lightning), but it's now more like a weird frankenstein of Druid and Vampire II adjusted for Tier VII. Personally, I don't think J42 is bad, but it's just quirky in the wrong way. Improve ricochet angles to 60-75 and give it at least a bit better DPM than Jervis (yeah, 13k worse AP DPM) and it'd be fine, IMO.
Personally was really looking forward to the Minegumo, though the price in tokens is just a bit much for me. Overall disappointed in how few tokens you can earn free, but I don't know what I was expecting lol. Still, though, good video! Update: got the free Premium crate, opened it up, got so excited when the little ship model showed up... and it was a Jupiter '42. I think I'm cursed!
At least you can outright buy the ship too which is very nice. Usually the ships are totally locked behind tokens but not this time and that's a nice thing to see.
I know it’s your tag line but is it necessary to tell everyone who you are at the beginning of your videos? I pressed would all know that by the time we press play.
Notser, if you like "negative damage" ships, try the Col. Bolognesi in an uptiered match. Such a joy to get AP 250 hits and do....15k damage - pure joy.
I got this ship in a very lucky way but the guns are disappointing. Torps are ok but still. This ship is meh, in division has more value cause it can spot. But if you play solo? 5/10 at best.
"If you don't have a premium tier 7 destroyer then". If you have NO tier 7 destroyers do NOT enter into tier 7, or higher, games. If you have garnered the skills required to purchase a tier 7 ship, with experience points, by all means do so. But! If not, consider the fact that "purchasing" a ship that is above your pay-rate might not result in the victories that you "imagine", and that as a participant in the "human race" you are expected to be able to demonstrate some degree of "ability" that might in fact be, at least equal, or above that which you have yet been able to demonstrate. If you do actually have such abilities, you are well and truly above the capacity of the average player. If you do not, your lack of required skill will be clearly evident to that those that have such, and you will,,,,,,,, well,,,, soon blow up. And, at that moment, and thereafter, your fool*+%ness will be apparent to all.
Have I travelled back in time? In 2016,17, 18, I would not miss a Notser review. Glad you are back.
Thanks, yeah I’m doing some more
Glad to see Notser popping up in my feed. Taught me the game when I started playing in 2017, especially playing the objective and DD aiming.
Appreciate you watching since, I’m trying to make some focused content these days because I just lack time.
Nice to see you're still 'Pulling a Notser' at the start of the second battle 😀
Haha yeah, I scrapped that island real good
I LOVE that you did a Notser! So nostalgic 🤣

So lucky I snagged the Haida, with a choice of HE or AP so better utility and better potential DPM from fires.

He man glad to see you back
Thanks for the support
The 5.7km consielment is the thing with this! when Jervis has 6.4km and Gadjah Mada 6.1km.
Definitely a nice bump
Better acceleration than Haida? Holds speed well in a turn?
I think, I like the video ! LOL
Got 2 Cossacks so will consider investing inminigumo
Go for Lightning instead; it's a Cossack with 2 racks of torps.
I opened 18 containers, just the containers that you regularly get for whatever reasons, opened them all at once and this ship was in there.
So a worse Cossack?

How much is she going for if you dont use tokens,@@maltemejlstrup4746?
Got the minegumo from my first java sea crate opening. Call me lucky…or skilled? ;)
@@ConnorJohnson98 skillz! 👊😎🙌👌

There is always a new viewer and I guess just habit
Thanks Notser! Sadly this ship looks pretty mediocre and up tiers badly too. 😢
seems that way to me as well

Appreciate the review, ship looks kinda mediocre though
The Low Hit Points and slow reload is a real disappointment - this ship is very fragile.
Agreed
This thing SUCKS
