You can go wrong with either manufacturer to be honest. I will say the skimmer will literally troll past most skiffs in the flats but the xplor will handle the chop better.
Is camping allowed around that Ranger station? I’m having a 18’7” skiff built in skiff and my goal is to fish my way from Brownsville, TX to the Keys. I’m hoping to do a fair amount of camping along the way to save on the cost of hotel rooms.
I had a townhouse at the time and I only had so much space to fit the boat in the garage. It was the best equipped skiff for the money and I don’t regret it. The boat is perfect for the fishing I do mainly flats and bay. It’s easy to trailer and clean at the end of the day. I have literally polled past mavericks stuck on a flat with three people on my skiff.
@@Dulcedan I was looking at skiffs and after watching your video and a couple of others I checked out the Blacktip and ended up ordering one. It just came out of the mold this week and I'm hoping it will be done within a month. That's a nice boat you have and I'm sure it will get a lot skinnier than the one I'm getting.

You answered my tank ? Lol thank you so much
Man, you have me second guessing my skiff choices. I've found the Xplor Delta 18 I've been interested in, but this is a great looking little boat.

Nice stuff man!!!
Does it burn a lot of fule with the 60 HP ? IAM wanting to get a skimmer skiff can you get a bigger tank ?

I believe so but it’s best to check online and request a dock slip.
Nice rig! What size AGM for the trolling motor? Do the deck drains drain into the bilge?
Thanks it’s a 24 series agm battery with 880 cca. The deck drain into the bilge compartment.
I liked the video you did on the Blacktip 18, what made you decide to get this boat?

@@scottparker6554 congratulations Blacktip makes a great skiff with boat boat quality. Love the fuel capacity on that skiff you can go anywhere.
Super nice skiff. Would a jackplate be a viable option on it?
Thank you and the jackplate would great but with a motor that’s got a low water pick up. Not sure why mercury didn’t design that for the 60r.
What was your out the door price on that with the 60 if you dont mind me asking
It was In the 30s with my current setup but the 16 finished deck has gone up in price.
Hey man nice video and beautiful boat. Did u deal directly with skimmer skiffs or a dealer ?
