On my opinion,i believe it depend on the reason for going,some go back to their home to hang out with theur family and friends after a long Time, vacation is about having fun anything else from fun is no vacation
My opinion is in sync with your's sir, Vacation shouldn't be in a familiar place with familiar people from one's past life or a travel saddled with business or investment functions...Vacation should be solely for fun-fare and rejuvenating from accumulated stress and not acquiring more in the process.
