DRB suffered less air-play for all subsequent releases on country stations after this video. Some DJ's thought they were a rock band whose success as the leaders of the 80's New Country mocked traditional Country Music. Yet, their individual roots are Bluegrass. The Desert Rose Band is a synthesis of Rock and Country. In 1994, Country DJ's preferred "Achy Breaky Heart" over DRB's "What About Love". Judge for yourself which has stood the test of time.
Achy Breaky Heart is just a piece of fluff. One of the precursors to what is called country music today (but it's not). This music they try to pass off for country music today is just politically correct drivel.
without a doubt...the best band of the genre! No one was better than these guys and this video doesn't even tell the half of it. Every song they did left you wanting more! Thanks so much for posting this! It's so hard to believe its been TWENTY years!
Cataclysmic Fantasy and Wonder. Desert Rose Band. My heart beats out of my chest listening to this song (all their songs). I hope they will make a special tour to New Jersey. I'll mortgage the house if I have to.
Most underrated band ever. Nobody could touch them. But they always got beat out by bands playing three chords singing picking and grinning and pick up trucks.
My top favorite country band ever! My childhood was hearing these guys on my radio! This song here definitely has an borderline rock feel to it but still has that DRB sound!
I worked as an FX editor for Casey Kasem on AT 40 when this came out...Totally MTV-style 90's music video....how many cuts can one put into a 60 frame sequence..LOL..LOVE the DRB
@Mr308winmag I agree, my brother. That's definitely 1 of the 10 Commandments. 'You shall not take the Lord's Name in vain. Thanx for bein' with me 'bout that cussin' and swearin'. It doesn't belong here on RUclips. Not now, not ever. God bless!
Nice tip of the hat from Hillman to Byrds-mate Roger McGuinn with the Rickenbacker.
Don't think I've ever seen pedal steeler Jay Dee Maness wear a T-shirt! Killer band, miss them so much.
All hail the Rickenbacker sound!

The Desert Rose Band is one of the all time great country bands in my opinion.
The best band ever! Wish they were still together making music.
Good day to hear some more nice tunes!❤😂❤😂
It was a bonus track off of their greatest hits "A dozen Roses" it also included "Come a little closer" another great song

My favorite song by one of my favorite bands! I don't know how they could have been so vastly underrated!
Reba in concert around 1990 with these guys opening. Quite a good show and a sweet venue Shea's Buffalo.
They should have made a music video for "One Step Forward"
Don't matter 2 ,3 ,4 years ago still love this band.
For a French man, I love the Desert Rose Band ! :)

Chris Hillman also did a great job with the Byrds back in the 60s.
I have to go in positive.

The Byrds circa 1990.
The intro was so byrds
agree
Jorgensen put a lot of 12 string electric riffs and leads into their music. I'm sure on the request of Chris.
That was my thought too, as soon as I heard it. Very Byrdsish.
