I wish Team USA had won, but nevertheless this was a good sand volleyball match. It's crazy that this is Taylor Sander's first year playing professionally on the beach. He and Taylor Crabb play like they already have a season or two together under their belt. With all the new teams, the AVP tour this year is shaping up to be really good. And of course, there's always Paris 2024 in the background.
Taylor S and taylor C. should have tried to find a taller person to play with preferably 6’6” and above. T. S. Is 6’4” and that tall guy is tooling him almost every single time.

Nevertheless, I think there is room for "small" blockers like Taylor Sander, especially those with his all-around skills and a solid vertical. Tri Bourne and Trevor Crabb have had success internationally split blocking; and they're both about the same size as Taylor Sander. He'll have to work harder than someone taller, but as long as his stamina holds up and he can keep jumping high, I think he's an effective blocker. Conversely, the fact that he isn't as big probably helps him when it comes to ball control (I mean, come on, he was a primary passer indoors for Team USA). And that could be what Taylor C and Taylor S end up being: A gritty old-school sideout team with good ball control, strong defense, and the ability to avoid errors while capitalizing on errors made by the other team.
If Sander thinks he is going to win with TaCrabb without getting free points off his serve, he's nuts, cuz he's not going to get many points off his block. He just didn't pressure them enough from his serve.
