Your little bird friend is so cute 🤗
You all three are beautiful specially you
The little bird is a Green Cheek Conure parrot. I used to have one, named Augie. They're awesome little birds, packed with personality.
wow ... beautiful calathea
سلم
I put all my tropical plants in the bathroom every night while everyone takes a bath then I leave them in there fir a while after... ❤️
Caroline Mumzie never thought about that 😎
Caroline Mumzie that’s why I do to my Calathe Orfiblia. My gorgeos leaves just went down to sides and it is so unhappy. Literally 2 days and the leaves are down. I keep the window closed so plant does not get cold.
This is a fantastic idea about the shells. After watching your videos for months, I finally had an orbifolia from Ikea today, so happy 🥰 straight home to watch your care video again 😊
Your bird was such a delightful surprise! Great video!
You have a green thumb. Your plants are healthy and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Marvin is too cute! Thanks for the tip on shells. You are the Princess of Calatheas!
Beautiful plants and birdie too!
Your plants are stunning!!
Thanks! I’m new to these plants and you’ve given me loads of tips!
I binged all your videos beautiful plants and great tips to increase humidity i will be trying immediately! thank you.
Beautiful plants! I'm hoping to get some more soon. Thank you for sharing! Great video!
Thank for your terrific, informative videos, I've been enjoying them quite a bit as I'm a Marantaceae fan!
I've never seen a calathea that big before! Huge kudos!!!!
Thank you for this, I'm a new "mommy" to a baby Calathea Orbifolia and now I know fully how to take care of her. Also, your video has convinced me to buy a Maui Queen -- what a gorgeous plant!
Great tips, thank you! Just bought my first one
Thank you for this great video. I bought my beautiful calathea orbifolia today and your tips are really helpful🙏🏼
Happy New Year, Hannah! What a coincidence! I just watched a detailed calathea care video & now here YOU are with that amazing orbifolia in a video from back in August! I'm building up the courage to get a calathea in Springtime; so, I need to do some research. Thanks for sharing! 🌾💜
LOVING you and your videos!
Put mine out in the pouring rain for 2 hours in 6 deg in the north west today & judging by its lushness, loved every minute of it.
Wow, they are gorgeous! 🤗 you are definitely doing everything right! Omg 2:19 love the cameo what a cutie 🥰
Pure Comedy!!! I was laugh- crying out loud! Does the birdie actually say Calathea towards the end! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
they're absolutely beautiful
Your eyes are sooo gorgeous. I keep looking between them and the calatheas
Amazing plant!
Thanks to this tips, my orbifolia now is reviving and blooms well.
Stunning Calathea - and as expected - so beautifully nurtured and well kept. I've become an avid outside gardener in the last few years - but I'm just now trying my relatively nervous new hand - at houseplants - and Calatheas. I found a remarkably healthy Calathea Ornata - and a somewhat crispy leaved but in overall good condition Calathea Roseopicta - both for dirt cheap (no pun intended) - at our local Lowe's Home Improvement. We've got two kids in college so I'm on a tight budget but I've had success out in my garden with bargain plants from these kinds of places - but I do know Calatheas are fussy and finicky. I'm ready though - thanks to you and other youtube gardeners - to take on the challenge! Thanks for your lovely and helpful videos and wish me luck!
Amazing calatheas, congratulations.
This is so breathtaking 😍
Have never owned one of these, that plant is amazing, such a statement piece, must get myself one or two?? thanks for the tips xxx

Really nice video! Thanks cool bird!
HI nice video, yeah you can use a waterfall I've a few around the house, it helps with the fengshui, I also use mirror to help get the light around the room on our UK winter days. I've had my plant for 2years, yes it got sad last winter. UK winter is so bad for these glorious plant my green pets. Thank you for sharing from the southeast
Layla uk 😱 !!!! A mirror for light !! That's brilliant !! Its so funny that I never thought of that even after seeing movies like the mummy and Indiana Jones 😎 .
Wow beautiful plant
Great video well detailed very informative great tips tfs ☺👍👍👍👍
I have calethea and gasped at you're oberfolia best calathea video. New sub
Omg 😍😍😍 so beautiful
Hi there, I have come across this video, great one by the way and just have to say that I'll try the seashells as after watching your channel and seeing your plants, I happened to see the only Calathea at my local Stratco store and bought it. Long story short, he now lives under my little back-door enclosure which is under the big veranda outside and is doing really well. I have since then gotten about three to four new leaves. The nats became a big problem so hence his new location but he seems to be doing ok where he is. Again thanks for a very informative video. Cheers
My calathea has bloomed! I’m so excited... I’m trying to find out if I should fertilize it or not during the blooming. Thanks
Hi. Every video is nice.👌
great video, love the parrot too.i been growing plants since about age 8... going to try again with calatheas..i saw them growing everywhere outdoors in sth america.. i have quite a jungle here right now.... have one rare maranta..had for years.. growing well again.. after it died down..as i was away 5 months in sth america..im trying to get other varieties, but in uk there is little choice.
2:20 the cute little bird tho 😭💚
You will see my birds in lots of my videos as they fly free all day 😁✨🦜🐥💚🌴
Love that bird ❤️
Very beautiful 🍀
Thank you very much, I appreciate
Your orbifolia is so beautiful. Very very beautiful.
So gorgeous
Interesting idea with sea shells, I'll try it! :) Actually I saw calatheas at couple of botanical gardens - and their leaves were not in great conditions either. Seems like it's normal for them to be too sensitive about everything. I've seen them in perfect condition only in garden centres and at yours , some wonder indeed. I have 5, only one is doing well even on a wind draft, seems like originally a strong plant. But as you said, good drainage is very important too, which is not a case with my calatheas
many thanks
You are seriously the calathea whisperer!
ErinBooms ha ha thanks 😆🌿💚
Love the video! What tree is that in the background?
I have one. She did great this year. Really booming. I had like 5 leafs last month, and now there are few more. I keep this one in pot without draining hole on bottom, and im using water from brita filter. Last year she was bad, almost all leafs had brown edges, i had no idea what kind of plant is that, so i cant fix that. This year she stands in smal window, on few books. Maybe thats why she get well ;) Now , shes really nice looking plant. :)
My Orbifolia just sent out four big leaves. I don’t flatter myself that I can grow it as big as yours, in fact I didn’t know they got near that large. I bought it for the bathroom, and I don’t have another place to put it where it where it would fit and will live through the winter heat, so I would have to take it back to the greenhouse. Those are beautiful plants. They remind me of large hosta, which I can’t grow because of herds of deer.
I have just ordered one of these 😁😁
Alison they are beautiful 💚🌿
Alison where did you find yours?💓
Beautiful plants! I just bought a orbifolio and curious how to propogate? Wondered of you had done this before.tks
I've never seen a Calathea as your yours. This Is spectacular beautiful . Can I use a terracota plant pot ir plastic?
Lovely , saludos desde Mexico
Nice plant
I am worried about how mine goes this winter too, it’s in a sunroom now and doing quite well. I’ve had mine for three months now. It a little smaller than yours but not much, Good luck with yours!
Hey thanks for the update of care for Calathea. I just want to know where did you get your Calathea white fusion?
Just subscribed! ! Thank you for the all your advice! I would like to ask you which direction is the window facing and how far is it from the calatheas. Thanks!
Thanks! You are welcome 😊It is a West facing window, I have most of them pretty far back from it, around 4/5 metres back
Beautiful plants. Can you lease tell me what you use to clean your plant leaves with.
I am a new subscriber, hope you make more videos!
Rick Sawicki I have lots of video ideas. I think I might do a video on croton care next as they can be quite tricky to care for 🌿
@@TropicalPlantAddict my favorite is your plant tour! I live in South Florida and also have lots of tropical plants. Your collection is great!
Rick Sawicki Thank you! I plan on doing a proper plant tour soon 😊🌿
I came for the orbifolia, but I subscribed when I saw the green cheek!
Welcome! 😁🌴🌺🌿 Marvin says hello 🦜💚
Oh man, that look you give your birb of "technically this isn't harmful to you so I don't want to get too angry about you pecking at it... but also you're eating my plants and are a mischievous lil bean" is so relatable XD but seriously it's SO hard to find any info on calatheas that goes beyond "keep humid and out of direct sunlights" the detail and actual tips in this vid are SO useful so thank you.
I know this vid is old so you probably wont see this, but the only question I have after watching is where did you get your calathea orbifolia/where do you get your calatheas in general 'cause in the uk I find it so hard to find varieties of Calatheas but I LOVE the genus
Hazelbeanableable thank you! Glad you found it useful. I got the Orbifolia online from a shop called house of plants but I’m not sure if they have them any more. You can get quite large ones from IKEA. Most of my calatheas came from Homebase or Haskins garden centres, and some from the Ginger jungle online 💚🌿
Love this very helpful!!. Could you make another video on how much to water and when to water please :)
Sandi Watkins Thanks! I’ll add a watering video to my list 🌿💚
2:19 - 2:25 adorable
Thanks for your tips! How do you water your calatheas? I was told to keep soil moist but not soggy. Do you just water a little at a time or do bottom or top watering with a little water till moisture metre says moist? Unfortunately, my Calathea rosy is too soggy and dying.
I enjoy your videos so much! Your pant collection is magnificent! May I suggest you lower the background music so we can hear you clearer? I’m new subscriber here and calatheas are my favorite! 💚
Thank you and welcome! This is an old video, the quality of my recent videos are much better regarding the sound etc 💚✨🌿
Absolutely the best looking calathea I’ve ever seen on RUclips, do you live in tropical climate?
Thank you! Unfortunately it suffered thrips last year so I’m regrowing it. I live in the UK so certainly not a tropical climate 😆✨🥶 Check out my more recent tours as I think you’ll enjoy them 🌿💚✨ Merry Christmas btw 🎄✨
❤😘😘😘😘😘 fantastic
Hi thanks for sharing your nice video and wonderful information please show me how you use or make your flitted water to spray on the plants ? Will be waiting for your video on making flited water to spray. You look wonderful like a babhi doll thank you
Aisha Begum Thanks! I just use a water jug to make my filtered water and put into a spray bottle that I got from amazon. Here’s the link: www.pure-aire.co.uk/product/pureaire-alkaline-water-jug/
Thanks for the tips 😎 Do you use a plastic pot? Looking forward to see a vid for the winter care tips.
Garden Freek You’re welcome! Yes there’s a plastic pot inside the decorative pot. My Orbifolia has already grown loads since I filmed this video! 😱💚🌿
The Orbifolia is my favourite! Sadly, although mine looks fine and healthy it does not grow AT ALL! I've had it for 6 months or so - not one new leaf...
Cool.
Hi, I have 2 tiny starter orbifolias with around 4 leaves each. They are doing well except one leaf is transpiring like crazy and turning translucent and brown in the same area. I planted it in a 4" plastic container which sits in a plastic planter with pebbles inside. The water is below the top pebbles so it's not sitting in water. I have small diffusers running all day around it so humidity is always 50+ and it receives medium filtered light. Im using a moisture meter to make sure it's not dry or wet but just moist. Not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated!
I remember now. You are the gal that first introduced me to calathea's and I've been on the hunt for some for the past few days, thanks! That are breath taking. That's a great tip about the shells. I have some scattered on top of my cactus just for looks, I'll have to transfer those over. You are awesome, your house looks like a vacation spot and you are pretty:)
Kristen Deason Aw you’re too kind 😊💚🌿 My favourite calatheas at the moment have to be the Orbifolia and the makoyana. Do you have a maranta?
I currently love them all as I don't have one yet. I would say my favorite is the one you showed on your other video with the holographic like sheen over a white colored leaf with green margins I believe. Holographic is my favorite color:)
Hi Hannah! My lil orbi baby is habing an issue. He stays in my bathroom with the other Calathea kids. They all hang out on a tension pole in the bathtub (in the corner), next to the window. I use only distilled water and a humidifier (when I haven't used the shower). My question is, I noticed some yellow fading on one leaf. Have you had any issues with this?
not sure which one is more beautiful the presenter or the plant ?
Hi, I finally found the Maui Queen and I so excited I did, my question is how often do you water them? Thank you
It depends on the size, how warm your house is etc. I just water mine when the top soil feels dry
May I know the name of the other plant beside you? I love it
What do you think about seaweed fertilizer for calathea?
Do you have a trellis or something for the Maui Queen or does it grow that high on its own with no help? I recently picked up a baby plant and I am curious.
Beautiful plants. Whereabouts in the U.K. are you? I’m in the S E near Worthing
I have a small one but its justgreen. will it get bigger and have white stripes too?
#MadAboutMarantaceae!!! Orbifolia And Louisae are two I Don't Have BUT IF I See ANY that look as GOOD as YOURS I WILL HAVE!!!
Thanks! I love calatheas, certainly one of my favourite house plants 💚🌿
I found my orbifolia at ikea today. They also had a warscewiczii, both look absolutely healthy and are quite big, they sit in 20 cm pots and are about 50-60 cm high. The best part is that they only cost 10€ each.. I could not believe my own eyes😅
