  • How to put guttering on to your polytunnel without the need for sticky tape. Provides 90% success rate at catching water to top up your water butts. I have two bulk containers each 1000litres capacity, both full and a 12volt bilge pump for moving water around the allotment.

I appreciate the in depth explaination, Just a quick suggestion, you could run some waterproof tape from the tunnel overlapping the gutter down the length of it. You'd eliminate any gap then and remove the chance of any rubbing?

As the guttering is working perfectly I have had to acquire two bulk tanks 1000 litres each.
With the use of a 12 volt bilge pump I transfer water from the butts to the tanks when ever they are full.
I have 2000 litres ready for the summer.

How has it been for you? I see a problem with thousands of litres falling on the polytunnel every year a the barrel probaly holds 240 litres, when the barrel overflows the excess water will fall in one spot instead of being dispersed generally and allowing the soil to soak it up, it looks like you are going to be creating a mudbath.
