an interesting place!
You were looking at the rising main water pipe and clack valve that were pulled up out the shaft. They went down beside the pump rods hanging on the end of the Bob. Boilers supplied steam to pumping engine and horizontal whim engine and heated the dry ( changing room) across the yard.
