    Disagree with the welsh player being hit and possibly being knocked out and laying on the ball. If he is out and motionless he needs to be taken for a HIA off the field. Or the penalty needs to reinstated as he was slowing down the play. Effects of knockouts can be delayed up to days. The referee was also confused he was still on the field when they packed the scrum and is going well I should have just left it as a penalty.

    • @davidmangan4
      @davidmangan4 3 дня назад +11

      There is no initial HIA for a player who is out etc. It's an auto fail and off you go. If the ref said the player was out, it's a brave medical team to say well he is fine. I must assume the doc on review saw he was ok but it's still a bad look.
      On the decision I fully agree with you. It's either scum and off he goes as he couldn't move after a head hit or it's a pen for not rolling. Don't really blame the ref. It's a tough situation but also don't think we should be saying that the way it went down was correct.

      @@Cpchurch87 nah it really isn't. And if you want to split hairs then it's still four phases after a non foul play transgression that didn't directly lead to Argentina's try meaning the try should've stood. This is play on everyday based on how low both players were...and to be fair diving like this should be a penalty against the acting player and a yellow card. We don't need this in the game

    • @Cpchurch87
      @Cpchurch87 2 дня назад

      @jlm0175 respectfully, disagree. Nearly every pundit I've seen agrees it was a high shot and a penalty. I agree on the reaction, and yes if you want to revisit the number of phases allowed before you can return to an incident I'm fine with that, as long as it makes sense for the game. But the starting point for this whole thing is head contact to a player. Without that, none of the rest happens

      All head contacts should result in HIAs, even fake ones. Perhaps it would encouurage the coaches not to promote them.

    Are rugby players stupid? They make the same mistakes repeatedly. Or is it the inconsistent application of all the nonsensical rules. Rugby is becoming too difficult to understand.

    Wow, very tough comments this week! Nigel deserves credit for the generally very clear explanations he gives…..but I agree it would have been good to get his take on the card “incident” and belated TMO intervention that led to the disallowed Argentine try. The referee and assistant on the blindside had excellent position to assess that incident and let them play on….It does seem rather ridiculous that over a half dozen phases later - including a brief change of possession - that incident could be reviewed and the try chalked off. As for the world player of the year nominations, four deserving candidates, but Tim of the Eggchasers RUclips channel led a convincing campaign to raise awareness that no prop forward has ever been nominated and that Ox Nche of South Africa has played brilliantly this year and deserved a nomination, perhaps ahead of his three teammates that made the list. (Well, maybe not ahead of DuToit, but certainly he was worthy of consideration, and Tim’s campaign really drew attention to a longstanding omission of some of the game’s most important players.)

    Just goes to prove the 20min red card rule should be supported. The fact so many of us disagree a red card was the correct decision in the first place. It is becoming very tiresome and looks as if nobody is prepared to admit the TMO got it wrong. I find myself waiting for the next head clash in all games I am watching. The disallowed Argentine try was a complete howler.

I think these rules need to change to know what recklessness is over just and dangerous Head on head clash to me Kerivi view was not reckless or was it a high degree of danger it is contact sport to me that should is how you should be giving the red card on Reckless and High degree of danger. Samething happened in the world cup with Sam Kane again deserve Yellow card it was not reckless and high degree of danger this the where they need to sought it out.

    Kerevi was a red, he had clear vision and time to prepare himself to tackle yet was too upright. Yes the Welsh player dipped but correct tackle technique is not headbutting the bloke in the sternum, and there is no obligation for the ball carrier to stay totally upright. The way the whingers carry on you'd think that both Kerevi and the Welsh guy were low enough to bind a scrum.

I dont see how a moving player can get lower than fully bent at the waist. Its hard to run when your head is at your knees. Eggchaser commented on his channel about some of the comms too. The TMO advising the ref of a clear forward pass instead of alerting the ref to a possible forward pass and letting the ref make up his own mind. The TMO's are out of control ATM.
