I agree! We chose deck 8 on the Dream, but will be booking deck 9 on the Fantasy next time. We sailed on deck 7 on the Magic & chose deck 7 again for our sailing next month on the Wonder. I just found you & love your DCL videos!
Our first cruise we booked on deck 6 and when we arrived it was amazing it was close to everything we were interested in. It was very quiet. Overall, I loved this deck!
Our friends stayed on deck 5 Fantasy and they said it was also quiet despite the kids clubs on the same deck. The stateroom hallway on deck 5 is off to the side and unless you are staying in those rooms I don’t see how there would be too much traffic? Maybe I’m missing something... I will have to try deck dream class and deck 7 on classic. I also liked deck 2 - so close to dinner, shopping and shows :)
I’m so excited for my Disney trip in January 2023 because me and my girlfriend about an extended veranda on deck eight so we will be in between entertainment on top and the food below so hyped!
We just recently booked our first Disney cruise! We are on the Fantasy deck 9 midship.. Just wanted to thank you for all the information its been a huge help in planning our first cruise ..
On fantasy I stayed in deck 10. I think deck 10 is the best as long you are at forward!!! Above forward is the adult only section which is very very quiet
I switched to deck nine several months ago because of your video. We're sailing in May and are going to be on deck nine. Just had to switch to across the hall because we were originally in a connected room and I heard those can be a little noisier than non connected lol
Some rooms hear engine noises and vibrations. Like you said, some ceilings are the lobby and 4am in the morning, the staff were preparing the gang way and it was super noisy. We complained and got an upgrade.
We recently booked our first Disney cruise! I am so excited! We booked on deck 9 so I am very happy to hear on this video that you recommend that deck. Do you have a preference for forward or aft? We are pretty far forward in the ship. We wanted connecting rooms and that is where we found some available.
Deck 7 on the Wonder (4x)! And I don't know past that which is why I'm here. Planning to be on the Dream and I am EXACTLY like you when it comes to putting lots of thought in to selecting a stateroom. I'm thinking deck 8, to narrow it down. Yes? Good choice? Wanting a real (not virtual) porthole window. Aft/Forward? Kinda would like to be closer to Cabanas and drink stations, so maybe Aft. Any suggestions Ashley?
Hi Vee :) Deck 8 is a GREAT deck for that ship! 7 would be good too, but you are closer to things on 8. I find that i can feel the ship move more in the front of it, so I would lean more towards the aft. And you are right, closer to Cabanas.. but the drink station would be the main reason for me to pick aft. You end up going to that thing way more than you think you will. However, you will be far from the adults only section. If you plan on going to that every day for an extended amount of time, then I might consider booking a room towards the front.
When we were on the dream we were 2 decks below the pool the pool and it was awesome we did not here anything there were like 2 shops that are only open during the day
5150-5162 (the rooms located by the aft elevators on the left hand side) are the ones people walk by a lot. If it is not one of those I would only switch if you want to be off of the deck that the kid clubs are on entirely :)
Do you still recommend Fantasy deck 9 for us? We won't use a public pool or buffet. We use MDR, kids club, sports deck, shows. But need a very quiet spot. Light sleepers.
I just got off the Dream. We hadn’t cruised before and were worried about seasickness so we decided to do midship deck 2, which is the lowest deck for passengers. I would consider Deck 8 for sure on a future cruise - we want a veranda next time, although the kids loved the porthole.
DECK 5 ON CLASSIC AT THE AFT IS WONDERFUL AND NO TRAFFICE ACTUALLY. We had a verandah and that back area of the ship is very private. It is just pas the theater, but the ONLY people that go past the elevators are people staying on that floor because it is a dead end hall.
I once got lost and turned down that hallway, passing people as I went. When I realized I had to turn around I was so embarrassed passing back by the people I had to scoot around the first time 🤦♀️
Have you ever been in a room that conjoins with another room? I'm wondering about the noise level from the other room. I read someone's review where they said they could hear everything said in the next room because of the adjoining door. They said it felt like the other people were in the same room!
Most rooms do have a door that connects to the next stateroom. I have never had this issue. There is a door in your room that you have to open and then a door in the other room that has to open in order to get through to the other room. Maybe if the neighbor had their dm door open in might make the sound carry a little bit I am not sure why they would have their door open because it would just be in the way. You can however hear people if you are on the verandah. You can pretty much hear anything that’s happening around you on the verandahs. 😃👍🏻
Perks include things like... having someone else book everything for you like dining reservations and port adventures, boarding the ship first, private waiting area before boarding in the terminal, private pool area and lounge on the deck. I think concierge is nice but I am not sure if it is worth it. I get the earliest port arrival time on boarding day and I board right after concierge. I don’t mind booking my port adventures and reservations online. The lounge is nice and has food in it but you can get food all over the ship. The pool area is nice but I have never had a problem finding a chair on the ship before outside of that area. The rooms are very nice and the service is wonderful. But I think the same thing about the regular staterooms and the cast members. I would totally sail concierge if someone else were paying. If I were paying though, I would rather go on more cruises with that money I save by not booking concierge.
Yeah deck 5 on the larger ships are the worst. The wheelchair-accessible entrance to Vibe is deck 5 forward and EVERYBODY takes that route to Vibe. On every cruise I've been on, there have been at least 2 complaints about the noise.
We stayed on deck 2 midship (2044) on the Dream and it was really quiet. There aren’t rooms directly under the restaurants on deck 3. The royal garden is on deck 2 so you may want to be away from royal garden. It was also a really convenient location. We could take the stairs most places except to the pool deck. Only reason I would consider a different deck in the future, I would want a veranda. I am thinking deck 8 on the Dream or fantasy would be great. I would avoid deck 5 altogether. The hallways around the kids clubs are noisy plus you can hear all the noise coming from the atrium. Edited to add: we had a huge porthole (a real one, not a magic porthole) so we had sunlight and could see the ocean.
TheLauren1113 we are on deck 2, midship next month. Glad to know it is quiet! ☺️. Do you feel much motion that low down? Last time we were deck 5 aft, and we were all seasick. 😫
Drew M we did feel some motion but I have nothing to compare it to as it was our first cruise ever. It wasn’t too big a deal and we are prone to motion sickness in general. We were told that low, center would have less motion but I can’t confirm if this is true since i have no basis for comparison. I found natural ginger tablets (Dramamine brand) before we left and those pretty much solved any issues we had - biggest issue was actually in the theater.
Disney Cruisers I too am a light sleeper. I will be sure to take some melatonin and chamomile tea. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. This is only our 2nd Disney cruise and I can use all the tips I can get lol
@@DisneyCruisers Yes, so far. I think our cruise in January to the Caribbean will be our last, however. We want King size beds which Disney doesn't provide.

So glad to hear! Thanks for letting us know 😀👍🏻
going on my 6th disney cruise! this time it's to southern europe. super excited.
That’s awesome 🎉🎉
I agree with you...deck 7 on the Classic ships and deck 9 on the big ships. Just forward of the mid-ship elevators.
We are going on the Dream for New Years. Our stateroom is deck 6 forward. Last time we were on the Magic on deck 5 and it was surprisingly quiet.
New Years will be SO FUN! I have never been but I have heard so many cool trip reports from those sailings :)
Our friends stayed on deck 5 Fantasy and they said it was also quiet despite the kids clubs on the same deck. The stateroom hallway on deck 5 is off to the side and unless you are staying in those rooms I don’t see how there would be too much traffic?

Deck 10, verandah back of the disney dream was perfect
Good that is where I'm going to be this Christmas.
we are going on deck 10 too, what room were u in?
I’m so excited for my Disney trip in January 2023 because me and my girlfriend about an extended veranda on deck eight so we will be in between entertainment on top and the food below so hyped!

That is where I usually try to book! You will not be disappointed.

Yes great point!! Far from cabanas though... that would frustrate me a little I think.
Disney Cruisers great point! It is a very nice walk in the mornings though if you g up to deck 11 and walk across
I switched to deck nine several months ago because of your video. We're sailing in May and are going to be on deck nine. Just had to switch to across the hall because we were originally in a connected room and I heard those can be a little noisier than non connected lol
Deck 7 on dream midship starboard. Absolutely loved it close to elevators it was perfect for us. We couldn't hear the elevators it was nice. Loved it.
Thanks for the info drarmaan 😃😃
Super helpful video!
When I went on the Disney Fantasy we were on deck 7 and I loved it
Yay!! Booked for Deck 9 aft on the Fantasy September 2020! (Completely accidentally)
Some rooms hear engine noises and vibrations.
Like you said, some ceilings are the lobby and 4am in the morning, the staff were preparing the gang way and it was super noisy.
We complained and got an upgrade.
For me, I go to deck 10 Forward part on the Disney Wish, because it is near to the pool deck
6088 on the Dream and Fantasy is our preferred cabin - ADA Midship Balcony
We recently booked our first Disney cruise! I am so excited! We booked on deck 9 so I am very happy to hear on this video that you recommend that deck.
Do you have a preference for forward or aft? We are pretty far forward in the ship. We wanted connecting rooms and that is where we found some available.
Forward and down low makes me the most sick.. however, you are up high enough that it should not be a problem :)

Just booked one on deck 5, will be calling DCL tomorrow to switch, thanks.
Which room number did you book?

Awesome- I am glad you got something out of it!
@@DisneyCruisers Sure, I changed my deck location of my planned cruise right after seeing your review, so thanks for your effort.
I have stayed in 6101 on the wonder and it was quiet.
Deck 7 is my favorite deck!
Aidan McIlvenna why ?
Do you still recommend Fantasy deck 9 for us? We won't use a public pool or buffet. We use MDR, kids club, sports deck, shows. But need a very quiet spot. Light sleepers.
Deck 9 is a great choice! I would recommend getting a room on a deck that has a stateroom above it and below it :)
Deck 8 aft was very quiet with very little traffic.
Thank you Roshun!
My family and I booked this same deck and in the aft and I can't wait!!

Do you know how are the low decks? We are booking through small world vacations and our deck is 2 on the dream.
Still on a Disney ship so excellent!! However I tend to feel the waves more down low. But I swear by Bonine!

Uh oh, I booked 10660, which is on the very back of Dream. I hope it's not terrible, I just wanted it for the view
Oh the back of the ship shouldn’t be a problem! There are no pool chairs or tables above you there 😀 and... you wil LOVE the view!
@@DisneyCruisers Thanks for the reply. We cannot wait, we're going in May. It'll be our 6 year old's first cruise and our first Disney cruise.

Oh no!! We are on Deck 10 this year for our Christmas Cruise!! 🤣😫
What room number?
10548... mid ship! Haha

I'm staying at 10662 in December too, first cruise. Hopefully is not that noisy for my wife. I'm heavy sleeper so it would not bother me.
Just booked 10662 on the dream even after watching this. Couldn't pass up the extended verandah and view
Any deck that has Concierge level is just fine.
Lol - I have never sailed concierge. Is that all you sail?
@@DisneyCruisers Yes, so far. I think our cruise in January to the Caribbean will be our last, however. We want King size beds which Disney doesn't provide.

what decks have concierge?
The one dislike booked on deck ten
Lol prob true
