- Rameses Revenge is a Top Spin ride at Chessington World of Adventures theme park in London, England, introduced in 1995 but will it stay now it's had a major breakdown ?
Rameses Revenge is situated in the 'Forbidden Kingdom' section of the park. The ride is surrounded by buildings that have facades resembling traditional Persian architecture, alongside themed elements such as a mock obelisk and rope bridges that evoke Ancient Egypt. The nearby dark ride 'Tomb Blaster' is themed in a similar way.
This ride was one of the best! Gutted to see it go… one of my faves

I went on that ride it is amazing because it makes you think it has broken down but it really hasn't
Ohhhh! Lol, I'll tell my cousin that!!! I went on it with her and it said technical difficulties! They stopped it and then continued after, so scary!!!

Looks more intimidating than on camera, but once you're on it, it's less scary.. (For me anyway)

The times I have visited this one was the best.
I remember on a school trip we went to Chessington and one of my friends was convinced to go on this ride by 2 other friends, even though she really didn't want to. We watched as they all got on and she was looking very pale and shaking like a leaf. When the ride finished and they came off she ran over beaming saying it was absolutely brilliant 😂

I went there today and omg it was the scariest thing I've ever done in my whole life. I was literally screaming through the whole thing... And it broke down twice ( obviously )
Back in the late 90's they used to run it on a much more hardcore setting than this, It used to spin you upside down about 30 times while you were slowly rotating backwards haha.
That explains a lot. I thought this looked like rather a tame cycle for a Topspin.
I went on this thing 18 times non stop it was awesome!!

I went on this on Friday, and all I can say is: This thing is one of my worst enemies. (I had to sit in the middle, and when it slowly dunked you into the water at the end, I literally couldn't breathe. To make matters worse, everyone had to switch seats like 4 times because of the weight limit, and the first time we were finally raised into the air, there were technical difficulties or something, and we were just hanging there for like 5 minutes before we were finally lowered. What a fun experience.)
I got stuck on this ride. We stopped right at the top and the only way to get us down was to lower us ridiculously slowly. It took like 10 minutes to get us down but we got 2 free rides so that was good. Sad to see it gone this year. Shall miss it.

I prefer ramases revenge, think of the poor people who died and lost their legs because of the crash at atern towers

it's not as scary as it looks
I went on this and it was so amazing, such a rush when you span around, wasn’t looking forward to the splash of water at the end though! (I sat in the middle and I got soaked! 😂)
This ride was a big deal in the 00’s. Fantastic ride. Shame it had to go, but it had its day.
I went on it today 1/9/14 it was my first time I loved it, it was so fun my cousin Harry went on it aswell he is 3 days younger dan me

I went on it at Halloween FAVORITE RIDE EVEEEER. Vampire was my favorite when I was a kid lol. The second time I went on it was so annoying because they had these blinding lights on though D: and she stopped the ride FIVE TIMES because we had to "shuffle" some one said we should have a picnic while we where there. EVENTUALLY she actually started the ride. When she was saying READY FOR ROUND TWO? Every one was yelling "get on with it!" XD. Oh and my favorite bit is when it spins you around four times. Luckily there was a no water ride for me because my face paint would be sprayed. First time I went on my face got sprayed and THEN after the ride my auntie was drenched and stuck in her seat and the instructor had to come and press on the seat so she could escape XD.

Rode this as a kid, it was great but we left it until the last ride of the day so we had to drive home wet in the car... do it earlier so you can dry out.

Last time I went I was a cm off being tall enough to go on this. I don't think I am going again anytime soon, but I am going to Thorpe Park on April 3rd :D

I remember I went on this a long time ago and I was like 8 or 9 and the ride was stuck upside down the look on my sisters face was hilarious and I went on it like 4 times more after but my sister didn’t dare 😂

It's funny how this ride is 21 years old yet still running & Ripsaw from Alton Towers opened 2 years later, 1997 & only lasted for 18 years & has been demolished from the park as of last year, 2015. Don't understand the logic in that being honest.
Yeah I remember going for a fast spin in this as well why they had to slow it down maybe because of safety reasons

I got stuck on that ride a month ago for 4 hours
I went chessington today 4/07/14 with my school and me and my friend went on it and my other friend was in the line with us but was too scared so me and my friend went on it and I was wearing a scarf with my headphones on it and my phone was plugged it and my phone dropped cuz my scarf fell and I think this is the BEST RIDE EVER but I think vampire was EQUAL to it and it never broke down

I don't have one but just today we went with my school and I have friends who have glasses went into this ride, don't worry it doesn't fall off
I wear glasses but I didn’t want to risk it so I took thm off
it’s possible that may happen so i recommend not to take ur glasses on the ride

Apparently they only operate rameses in summer and sometimes their halloween season but I dont think it will make another runmuntil 2014.
I just went on it yesterday and it is not as bad as it seems

the one time i got to ride go on it the ride got stuck so we had to get off and then when i went next time it was shut for good :(
I've never been on this, or any upside-down ride for that matter, but I really want to man up and do this. But I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to sit in the middle and get shot in the face with a huge beam of water. 😂

Billy Baker that's because chessington is a family theme park whereas it used to be like Thorpe park- teens and older
so they've actually changed rides now? I haven't been back in years
i went on this and it fr broke down for like 30mins, we were practically upside down, it was so funny 😭😭😭
