I don’t feel like Generations needs it, as odd as it sounds I feel like the game has been kept alive for so long that we’re fine with what we got. Unleashed does need a Ultimate version though

As for always hearing the sonic paradox version of seaside hill, I was actually had it in my head as the song played in the background of that segment XD
My favourite is crisis city, good stage for speed running all while being challenging at the same time with the bottomless pits and flames. Plus sonic 06 was a favourite childhood game for me

I play the modern stages way too much. To point where it's unhealthy, so my list is based off of everything the levels have to offer. Seaside Hill Sky Sanctuary Chemical Plant Rooftop Run Speed Highway Crisis City Planet Wisp Greenhill City Escape
Favorite 3D sonic game of all time. They really nailed something here that other titles imo struggled with. They made a 3D game thats 100% enjoyable without having to be an apologist for other stuff. Same with colors

honestly stuff like you just falling off the glass in speed highway onto that path just makes me love this game even more like ive played and watched so much of this game and i never knew that path was there
I can understand that many dislike planet wisp but i personally would put it to my favorites. Just because Sonic is fast, most people think the best stages have to be the shortest, quickest and easiest. Because planet wisp is harder to run through flawlessly it gives you an actual challenge, which i think makes it worth being the final stage of the game. It's not fair using the quality vs quantity argument, because this level does have a lot of quality: it's super polished in terms of background, soundtrack (by far my favorite of the game) and overall design. I also have no problem with the 2d sections as well, they're pretty good, i don't even understand people blaming on it because view's of the 3d builiding rotating like in 3:00 while opponents systematically slide out of it are beautiful and interesting. You can still complete this level in high speed if you practice on it enough, it's just more advanced which is good, because you can call yourself actually skilled in the game after mastering this level.
For Crisis City, I always assumed Time Eater booped up the timeline even more lol, making certain things that shouldn't exist, exist again. Still enjoy the stage though.

Seaside Hill is the best, I mean there's a lot of replay value, like that stage isn't just boost in a straight line to win, there's many places u can go, there's so much water that u can run on, especially if u have endless boost, u can explore so much, at the beginning u can run in a straight line, or immediately go into the water and go underneath, or even on top, on top of the loopdeloop, into springs and then a rail, or even at the middle part, u can skip a section by going around in the water, it's such a good stage, my favourite in the game

Never liked it from genesis, but generations version is awesome 2 is rooftops, just as like 1 , fast paced with some shortcuts and paths, but it more straight lvl 3 is city escape, just love repeating board section and trying to use multiple paths

Modern Planet Wisp is way better than Classic Planet Wisp.
I never wanna play planet wisp again, it got me so hard and the spike wisp was challenging to use. But yeah the stage ain't for me XD
the 2d sections honestly ruin most of the levels. it's why i prefer unleashed over generations, the levels in that game flow extremely well.
