This is another great Sunday morning with my coffee watching you traveling around the world and I'm ready for your journey from Blue Lagoon Glasgow to Blue Masque Istanbul have a great trip thank you Scott.🇬🇧👋☕👋🇹🇷
Was it salt 'n vinegar or salt 'n sauce at the Blue Mosque? Great challenge mate! But despite all that travel, I think I most liked the crisp cold weather in Glasgow!
The more I watch your videos Scott, and those of fellow travellers, the more I realise that anyone who flies is treated like mugs, with utter disdain by airlines, airports, caterers etc. I suppose our railways come a close second.
Hoi, Scott, tough challenge. Glad you´ve made it so far. Well done story. Been to GLA/Glasgow, yes, not to the Blue Lagoon, but to SAW/IST and the Blue Mosque, yes. Greetings, Markus
Flew through Istanbul en-route to Adana (Turkey) with work. Found it quite chaotic The internal flight down to Adana was like getting the night-bus home at 3.30 on Saturday morning. In no rush to go back 🤣
That was an enjoyable ten plus minutes. Nice starting point, brought back a recent memory of a recent visit to that very Blue Lagoon for a chip. During the meal the customers were given an impromptu performance of Elvis hits by a guy who accompanied his singing with eating a meat pie. 😊
Not really a fail in my book because with the language barrier and the fact the bus dropped one mile west of where you expected to be, I think you did remarkably well.
We were at the gate in Bristol Airport waiting for our flight to Aberdeen. The plane came in, an hour or so later, our mobiles were going off, the flight had been cancelled as there was an accident on the road to the airport and the pilot and staff couldn't get in, but we knew before the boarding staff did. Had to rearrange on the app and flew out 2 days later. I fly from Bristol very often and my go to is a meal deal in Smiths (I think) and a hot chocolate from Costa. Thanks for the video!!
Hey Scott, been watching your videos for well over a year and love them all. Great job and dedication 👏 👍. You would have passed that challenge hadn't you chosen to pay £20 for what looked worse than a microwave ready meal. Unlucky! Keep up the great work!
My wife and I were in Istanbul from 07/12 until 11/12 . We stayed within walking distance of the Blue mosque Hagia Sophia. The taxi you caught sounds expensive . We had a taxi from Gallatasseri( excuse the spelling ) to Sultanhamet and it was 224 lira . I really enjoyed the video . We had a taxi from Sabiha Gokcen airport return and it was 100 Euros , I was white as a sheet lol. Keep up the excellent work and have a fantastic Christmas you and your family 🎅🎅😀😀.
Beautiful looking building The Blue Mosque 🕌 . You should come to Falkland & visit Falkland Palace & gardens as that’s also beautiful. Plus I would also buy you a coffee from Fayre Earth Gift Shop 🌎 Scott. 👍
Hi Scott, I've done the walk via Inchinnan Road and Love Street from the airport on a number of occasions, when my delayed Ryanair flight arrived back after the last 757 bus had gone. It's a dark and often lonely 40 minute walk to Gilmour Street Station. A question; don't you have a Saltire Card/Bus Pass which will save you the £2 fare? Or are you much younger than I thought?
Should have walked the last 45 mins or not bought that overpriced grub in airport, mission complete 😊 love your vlogs, feature more of Blair, love the relationship you have 👍
Good Morning Scott, I enjoyed watching your RUclips video! I had considered visiting Turkey, however, I do not think you can fly directly from Toronto to Istanbul, Thank you for the video, Alister Ian Hoult, Carrying Place, Ontario, Canada.
I would have packed sandwiches etc as unsure what time I would arrive in Istanbul, rather than that expensive awful airport meal! Also taken a heat retaining water/coffee flask, saving another few pounds. Then you may have made it within budget, and I think the cost cutting arrangements would have been fair within the challenge. ‘I’m not sure you will see these comments Scott, as you don’t seem to reply to any! Unlike Steve Marsh. In the past I haven’t commented because of this. I hesitate to stop watching your videos as usually interesting - but you never know!
i will always be mad that it's 10 quid for a single to/from glasgow airport to the centre, when drop off/pick up is a fiver (but as a fairly frequent bristol-glasgow traveller, nice to see it on a vid!!)
Appreciate your work you know Glasgow inside out Thomas. Off to London see my brother Stephen Boyd Londoner Age 67 for Christmas. Bus services in Glasgow privatised it expensive Thomas. No free concessionary travel. London Better set up.
Well done, what a shame to lose the challenge by such a small margin. Watching you trudging along that busy road in a black jacket with a black backpack, have you considered using a Hi-Viz vest for safety?
1. I always take a packed lunch with me when travelling by air, so that I do not have to buy from the overpriced eateries. If the cost of that uninspiring meal is included, it would have blown the budget out of the water immediately. 2. Does the train ticket to Paisley Gilmour Street include a railcard discount (e.g. senior railcard)?
I live in Bristol , so that challenge i could have completed succesfully :) SO at least i can complete one of your challenges. I'd have no chance with your coach challenges though
Brigg and Stow at Bristol airport has some very mediocre reviews, I had the breakfast there in October and it was barely Spoons level. Not flying out of Brizzle again for a while tho but I think the next time I'll try Frankie and Benny's again.
Bummer, fantastic all the same... banger-mash-peas looked disgusting.... frozen green ball bearings, instant tatties.... sausages looked like mystery meat... your poor stomach... but you sojourn on.. Gold Medal for perseverance 😊😊😊😊🎉
I often complain about this. The choice from Scotland is significantly less and thus the prices higher than in the South East. For many destinations we need to book connecting flights. I suppose some other things are cheaper though.
Thanks Scott that video was a wee Turkish delight 😂
"Would you like to come to Istanbul, Blair?"
"No."
Would of been a £200 budget if he came to double everything
Another Awesome Video 👌. Istanbul & its people have a Special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing. ✌
Brilliant video as always Scott! You always manage to entertain me!
£20 for that sausage and mash it looked dreadful. I wouldn’t serve that to my dog
What colour were those sausages, looked pale grey - yuck, i would have sent that back
@@ab4113 me too
@@ab4113 The last time I saw "sausages" like that was ........( well this is a family show)
Yuck
Looked worse than airplane food
GrGreaeGreat video and the mosque wow!!
This is another great Sunday morning with my coffee watching

Intrepid or what Scott. Nothing stops you man. Well done and not a fail in anyone's eye here.
Was it salt 'n vinegar or salt 'n sauce at the Blue Mosque? Great challenge mate! But despite all that travel, I think I most liked the crisp cold weather in Glasgow!
Good job. Nice trip! Enjoy the Hagie Sophie , or whatever that big thing is called. Pretty church at one time!
I love it when you set yourself a budget challenge. No-one does penny pinching like you 😉
Great video, no airs and graces just a good bloke doing stuff. Well done, if you're ever in Dubai I'll buy you a pint.
He went to Dubai about 3 months ago!
@SSS92934 And didn't like it LOL
Great Video Scott
Brilliant vlog once again Scott, I love these challenges that you do, they are always a great watch 👍
Scott ❤ You are a legend love your videos
The more I watch your videos Scott, and those of fellow travellers, the more I realise that anyone who flies is treated like mugs, with utter disdain by airlines, airports, caterers etc. I suppose our railways come a close second.
And 💩look warm food!
On budget airlines perhaps.
@@listey On all airlines

Glasgow to Blue Lagoon, Laos. Now thats a challenge 😅
That's ok that you didn't do it, so now it gives us another video to look forward to. Please stay safe.
Good vid like always Scott, though that sausage and mash looked terrible.
The things you do for this channel indeed😂
Hoi, Scott, tough challenge. Glad you´ve made it so far. Well done story. Been to GLA/Glasgow, yes, not to the Blue Lagoon, but to SAW/IST and the Blue Mosque, yes. Greetings, Markus
Interesting video, Scott😊
Thanks for another great video.
another top video scott!
Yep great title maybe even title of the year, got my thumbs up,
I love your posts. Informative and great to watch.
Thankyou
I wish this video was much longer. Well done mate!
Great video 👍 ! Hope you'll make some more videos on the same kind of theme 😊 Perhaps a higher budget for destinations farther afield.
All so affordable is what I'm thinking and almost making me to have some myself.Enjoyed again Scott thanks for uploading
Great effort!!
Another great Sunday morning🖐🇺🇸

You sure that's the Blue Mosque, mate? Looks ... erm ... kinda pinkish, to be fair.
Istanbul is a great city! Always worth a challenge.
Ah, Paisley Gilmour street! So many happy holidays started from there.
Class video
That was an enjoyable ten plus minutes. Nice starting point, brought back a recent memory of a recent visit to that very Blue Lagoon for a chip. During the meal the customers were given an impromptu performance of Elvis hits by a guy who accompanied his singing with eating a meat pie. 😊
Not really a fail in my book because with the language barrier and the fact the bus dropped one mile west of where you expected to be, I think you did remarkably well.
Blue Lagoon in Iceland 🇮🇸 looks more appetising 😊
coffee to get to cruising altitude comment is a must in every vid
Scott I consider this a success. Bus drop off wasn't your fault. 😊

Being used to your adventures, I thought you were going to attempt this on land. Another great video Scott!
It would be cheaper to cycle, but that takes longer. People DO cycle across Europe, I'm not joking.
That "blue" mosque looks extremely pink! 😂
Can't understand why one would be that curious for this mosque to see it. Any gothic cathedral is so much more interesting!
Scott, you not only exceeded your travel challenge budget, but you ended up at the PINK mosque. Better luck next time. 😉
Beautiful looking building The Blue Mosque 🕌 . You should come to Falkland & visit Falkland Palace & gardens as that’s also beautiful. Plus I would also buy you a coffee from Fayre Earth Gift Shop 🌎 Scott. 👍

If you have a bus pass you get free travel all over Scotland even on the airport buses
Next stop; Blue Lagoon Iceland for £100?
Great challenge scott and I assumed you would have a seniors bus ticket.
Should have walked the last 45 mins or not bought that overpriced grub in airport, mission complete 😊 love your vlogs, feature more of Blair, love the relationship you have 👍
Nice try! More importantly, nice video!
Good Morning Scott, I enjoyed watching your RUclips video! I had considered visiting Turkey, however, I do not think you can fly directly from Toronto to Istanbul, Thank you for the video, Alister Ian Hoult, Carrying Place, Ontario, Canada.
Love your videos Scott. Where we going next? France sounds good 😊
I think you did well. You didn't break your budget by much.
The Blue Mosque looks incredible even in pink.
Pity you didn't succeed with your challenge.
Interesting video.
Next challenge. Try to visit any of Istanbul's major attractions for a reasonable price, Blue Mosque aside. Good Luck.
Thank you.
I am sticking pins in my eyes, and saved myself £103.78 - if I calculated correctly.
The medical bills sound costly though.
I would have packed sandwiches etc as unsure what time I would arrive in Istanbul, rather than that expensive awful airport meal! You're so lucky to be a man and feel safe to walk alone in the dark
You could have went from the blue lagoon in Glasgow to the blue lagoon in Oludeniz in Turkey
Good effort! Where next?!
Can this only be done one way not return for 100 pound ?
i will always be mad that it's 10 quid for a single to/from glasgow airport to the centre, when drop off/pick up is a fiver (but as a fairly frequent bristol-glasgow traveller, nice to see it on a vid!!)
Imagine the carbon footprint on this fella
Appreciate your work you know Glasgow inside out Thomas. Off to London see my brother Stephen Boyd Londoner Age 67 for Christmas. Bus services in Glasgow privatised it expensive Thomas. No free concessionary travel. London Better set up.
Marshy will be laughing!
Good try Scott ....
How much is a return ?
Well done, what a shame to lose the challenge by such a small margin. Watching you trudging along that busy road in a black jacket with a black backpack, have you considered using a Hi-Viz vest for safety?
Blue Lagoon is a disgrace these days, they no longer do scotch pies ffs. How can that be right?
Bristol airport - I've spent many miserable hours there waiting for delayed flights back to Glasgow.
0:40 Gokcen to city costs like £4 to Taksim, not £21😂😂😂
That sausage n mash was rubbish. Only worth £2
Good vlog - NO pain NO gain. Have u watched the film MIDNIGHT EXPRESS.????
Be careful.
say Scott...i,m betting againt you on this ONE
Did you not pay to go into Glasgow from Paisley?

Check your inbound flight for.delays
steve marsh
£4.60 one way from Central to Gilmour St? i do that journey.
But but... You had the card?? Yenkapi metro, one stop, change, two stops is Blue Mosque.
Brigg and Stow at Bristol airport has some very mediocre reviews, I had the breakfast there in October and it was barely Spoons level. Not flying out of Brizzle again for a while tho but I think the next time I'll try Frankie and Benny's again.

That's about right for Bristol airport.
Very nice view of Christian church, Hagia Sophia, temporarily being usurped by heretics. Excellent video.
6:15 Take a sandwich ;)
What blew your budget was warm sausage and mash, You would have done it if you brought your own sandwich .
I have a challenge if you are interested? Visit all 12 SPL football grounds in 1 day using only public transport.
would be impossible for me it would cost at least £200
15 minutes for those? Yeah, I'd be sending that back that sausage and mash looks AWFUL
I could make a comment but I would not be allowed into Scotland 😂
Scott, why not use e-sims for data when you travel? It’s cheap and easy. Always online.
I did it for £23.40 in 2022 with Wizz for £17 from Luton
I often complain about this. The choice from Scotland is significantly less and thus the prices higher than in the South East. For many destinations we need to book connecting flights. I suppose some other things are cheaper though.
Which flight times?
Is that a claim to fame, I dont think id be telling anyone
Sorry to say, nothing is simple in Turkey.i really find the place irritating!
It's fascinating, but hard work as well.
You no got a bus pass? You under 60? Airport bus is included.
