    Well done. I knew how to make bias tape by pressing, but this little tool is really slick, especially if you need to make a lot! Thank you.

    Thank you for this, the other tutorial I looked at had us putting a very oddly angled triangle together instead. Making it square according to measurements is much easier to put together, and less work. Will be spending some time making only bias tape to get mastery, and a stockpile of it for other uses.

    Thanks for video. Have a problem with tape makers. Mine are metric, which would be fine, but none of my quilting supplies are metric; therefore, the bias binding I cut with my martelli supplies won't fit properly through the tape maker. I wonder why our tape measures have inches and metric both but our mats, rulers and templates don't. Any suggestions?

    How do you make double thick bias tape? Like the type for finishing a quilt? The store bought is only one layer

    • @LetsLearnToSew
      @LetsLearnToSew  4 года назад

      The video shows both.

    • @deanhenthorn1890
      @deanhenthorn1890 4 года назад

      I think there’s a misunderstanding, I asked about double thick bias tape. The video demonstrates single fold and double fold bias tape. (I watched again). The store bought blanket binding tape seems really thin and cheap to use on a quilt.

      Let's Learn To Sew Never mind, I watched a video that answered the question. Traditional binding with 2 -1/2” strips is folding in half, sewn onto the blanket, folded over and sewn again. The result is two layers thick, thus the edge will wear longer than the method ( one layer ) your video showed. I’m learning to sew also on a Singer 301A. Nothing fancy but it works.

    Can this be done with a knit fabric

    • @LetsLearnToSew
      @LetsLearnToSew  6 лет назад +1

      It can, it's just a bit hardy because knit tends to roll around.
