Best video on bias tape that I’ve seen
This was a great, easy to understand and complete explanation of what bias binding is, the types & how to make it. Job well done!!!
Thank you for your easy to follow tutorial on how to make bias tape. And, the beginning information why it is called bias tape was much appreciated!
Well done. I knew how to make bias tape by pressing, but this little tool is really slick, especially if you need to make a lot! Thank you.
New sub here! Finally! A bias tape tutorial I can actually do! Thank you for including all the details! Thank you!
Thank you so much. You were informative and easy to understand. I saw a lady with a roll of a pretty pattern bias tape, I didn't see any in my neighborhood now I can make my own thanks to you
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. It's nice when you can get the perfect match with your fabric.
Thank you for this, the other tutorial I looked at had us putting a very oddly angled triangle together instead. Making it square according to measurements is much easier to put together, and less work. Will be spending some time making only bias tape to get mastery, and a stockpile of it for other uses.
Thank you so much for not only the tutorial but also explaining what the heck bias tape is! And how it is used. This is SO helpful. Subscribed!!
You're welcome and thanks for subscribing!
Thank you so much! So much great info and valuable tips for a beginner like me!
I'm glad you're finding them helpful. Be sure to visit my website for more. letslearntosew.com

Very informative thank you. I've been struggling with this a while. A friend gave me a box of sewing things now I know what the blue thing with a wire is,
mystery solved..that's going to make things easier. Yes I've burned my fingers..
thanks for showing and explaining everything. I really appreciate your details. 👏👏
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Just what I needed for my latest project thanks very well instructed.
Very detailed. As a beginner this was helpful. In think I missed how many inches are needed for the tape maker
Thank you! I was looking online for bias makers, but had no idea what the sizes meant (going in or going out). I'm new at this.
OMG THANK YOU! this video just saved me some money today lol
Thank you. Very good explanations. Thanks for sharing the talent. You are a great teacher. Keep it up.👌👍👊
very instructive, clear explanation. Thank you
I bought a bias tape maker and thought I'd never use. Wrong--it's easy and handy, and my bias tape always matches what I'm making.

Thank you. Very good and well explained tutorial..👍🏼😎
such a great video! need to try this out soon.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for video. Have a problem with tape makers. Mine are metric, which would be fine, but none of my quilting supplies are metric; therefore, the bias binding I cut with my martelli supplies won't fit properly through the tape maker. I wonder why our tape measures have inches and metric both but our mats, rulers and templates don't. Any suggestions?
Well-explained lesson! I subscribed to your videos.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Good tutorial for beginners.
thanks for sharing. like the idea of using the tape maker.😁so you don't burn your fingers when you do the pressing.
I can't tell you how many times my fingers got a little too warm before this tool!
Muy bien explicado. Gracias.
i can't believe she said its for her grand daughter. she sounds sooooooo young. lol 😍😍😍😌😊

Thank you!
Great tutorial, Where can I purchase the handle that you have on top of your acrylic ruler?
You can get the handle on Amazon. It's a few dollars less than most craft stores even with a coupon. amzn.to/2vWJsyq
Cutting bias strips
Wonderful, thank you!
I need to know what size I need to cut my fabric to make a finish size of 1/4 inch double fold bias tape..thanks
Is that a Bernina sewing machine? Sounds like it. I want one of those.
It is actually a Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 875.
Ivegot a new sewing machine
I bought bias tape today
What ironing pad and ruler are you using?
The ruler is a Fiskars ruler, it's my favorite! (amzn.to/38hzgng) . We made the ironing pad. I have a video to show you how here: ruclips.net/video/JQ0DIDPbDxw/видео.html
How do you make double thick bias tape? Like the type for finishing a quilt? The store bought is only one layer
The video shows both.
I think there’s a misunderstanding, I asked about double thick bias tape. The video demonstrates single fold and double fold bias tape. (I watched again). The store bought blanket binding tape seems really thin and cheap to use on a quilt.
Let's Learn To Sew I’m waiting.
@@deanhenthorn1890 Sorry not to reply immediately. I'm in nursing school right now and I'm not always able to reply as quickly as I would like.
Let's Learn To Sew Never mind, I watched a video that answered the question. Traditional binding with 2 -1/2” strips is folding in half, sewn onto the blanket, folded over and sewn again. The result is two layers thick, thus the edge will wear longer than the method ( one layer ) your video showed. I’m learning to sew also on a Singer 301A. Nothing fancy but it works.
Can this be done with a knit fabric
It can, it's just a bit hardy because knit tends to roll around.
I could NEVER EVER EVER get bias tape to work like this na🙈🙈😂, everytime to join it it's always big and small 😳😂
Am I the only one who doesn't have the patience to do this ? Lol
First time watching your channel and I love your video but wondering what those people who did thumb down !!! What really they want more???
So strange!
I’m still getting an angle no matter which way I flip the strips...... what did I do wrong?
That's odd can you share a picture? You can email it to me or share on FB. Do any of the ends match up without an angle?
Let's Learn To Sew I figured it out! I had a dumb moment lol. My bias tape didn’t line up 100% but I probably just need to practice more precise measuring.
I'm glad you figured it out!
You have provided an excellent way to make a bias tape.Having said that the subtitles given below are not punctuated whiich become a great source of discomfort. Please take notice of that.
I'm sorry you found the cc a discomfort. The cc on this video was created by RUclips. These videos are provided free of charge to help people, editing cc is not something I have time to do at the moment.
Thank you
